Hey,

1st review from RPGamer.com: http://www.rpgamer.com/games/other/nds/kitn/reviews/kitnstrev1.html

Game Informer is also supposed to have a review in its June issue.

More to come of course.

PS: Thanks for fixing the title!

"They're"

Your sentence should in indicative form, not possessive.

And despite the download 'demo' being horribly disappointing (a tutorial where you don't actually play much!?), it sold me on the game ... so I guess it did its job. :p

Thanks for the message. It's just that I was tired and I made a mistake. I take full responsibility. I can't edit the title, so if a mod is kind enough to do it then I would really appreciate it.

PS: I can't wait to get the game!

Game Informer is also supposed to have a review in its June issue.

Game Informer gave it a 7, with a 6 for the Second Opinion.

This is the same magazine who gave the same score to Henry Hatsworth, a recent favorite of mine, where nearly every other review gave it closer to an 8 or 9.

I remain unconvinced and still eagerly await my copy in the mail.

Game Informer was also iffy on Dark Spire. Score split between a 5 and a 7 (or maybe it was a 7.5). I think they have begun to skew their scores to match their opening editorials. Sentiments along the lines: games are entering a new paradigm....are becoming the new mode of entertainment..... And so on, so when you get these kinds of games that do "old" things really well, they act very blase about it.

They didn't like how complicated it was. The interface was too cluttered. They didn't like the trial/error transoul process. I am pretty sure that was the gist of what they found wrong with it and I can't confirm that because I don't have the magazine with me.

I think it was just more of warning to the masses that may find this game frustrating or find a problem with the extensive tutorial before jumping in.

To readers who look forward to the intricacy and who will play through multiple times with the new game+, those problems will seem minor. At least that's how I looked at it. I already knew it was going to be complicated. I already knew I was going to have to make tough choices with regards to knights. However, I still look forward to it.

Can't say I put much stock in GI after a few of their reviews. The reviewers often have taste that is in direct opposition to my own. Plus "fight and heal" will never be forgotten. I really need to finish Riviera and Yggdra union before I can play. Sooo excited though.

GI reviews have always been kinda sketchy, as someone else said, like they have to reflect the attitude of the month. IGN sometimes does this, only they'll hand off a hardcore game to an intern and they'll lowball it to sound credible rather than letting a seasoned editor put the game through the ropes.

The Devil Summoner 2 review would be an example of this. That was a title they should have had someone like Jeremey do. For portable stuff, I feel I can trust Craig Harris - he's what I consider seasoned.

Also have to consider that game publications have to act more sophisticated to the mainstream player these days, or they won't get thier subscription dollars at all. Or have some Gamestop employee peddle it every time you visit. Thankfully some have come to realize I just won't budge on subscribing.

I'm still fairly interested in Knights in the Nightmare - its a concept that's pretty unique and that's what people should really be caring about here.

It is not that bad of magazine. I don't get it for the reviews. Most of the cover stories are pretty good. Previews are always a nice read. I also like the new product section where they talk about things outside of video games. I look at the reviews last just to get an idea on what the general public will most likely think of the game.

I can't wait for this game! I hope the demo is still up on Sunday because I am going to my parents house and they have a Wii.

Does anyone know if this will have japanese voices available?

It doesn't have Japanese voices. The original version of the game used English voice. So, in theory, we're keeping the JP voice from the game, which is in English.

Then take a cast of english voice actors and make them redub the game with badly pronounced stereotypical japanese sentences.

"SHOUBU DA!"
"KONO YAROU!"
"KYAAA, SENSEI! YAMETE KUDASAI!"
"KIMI WA TSUYOI DESU NEEEE"

I can already hear the fanboys' orgasms.

These reviews make me want this game so bad! I can't wait to play it; I'm gonna have to adept to the bullet hell part, though.

Also, sorta off-topic, but did my signature change? I could have sworn it used to be 4 Days (I added an extra day for shipping)...

Those douchebag editorials always ticked me off. I wanted to read about games, not the social significance of bioshock.

Their reviewers tended to dis every game I liked too.

GI reviews games as if players have no idea what to expect from the genre. Kitten is confusing. Has pages upon pages of tutorials. However, if you really need to go through everything, it's likely already in the game booklet. Anyway, it comes out tomorrow (hopefully it's already in the store by tomorrow)...
