Hey everyone. I was hoping you could possibly help me fix this incredibly annoying problem...
For the past few months, my PS3 has been on wireless. However, whenever I turn the PS3 on, the internet connection on my computer lags. Pages don't load for a few minutes, yahoo messenger restarts.. after a minute or two it's ok, but for that initial time it's really annoying. It also boots my brother's internet entirely or slows it down. Then when I sign back into yahoo, the PS3's connection lags.
I often play games while chatting on yahoo. Is there any way to have the PS3 connected while I'm doing it?

Try disabled the media sharing network feature, do you have a linksys router?

Aye, I do. I just disabled that, and it seems to be working better now... Thank you! :D
Edit: Whoops, just after I posted that, it booted me from yahoo.

If you have the same Linksys router as me then every time your PS3 goes online with DLNA (media sharing) enabled it will boot everything else off your network. I hear you can fix this problem by updating the firmware on your router, but my router isn't close to any of my PCs so I never got around to doing so, and I just use my 360 for media streaming on the rare occasion that I feel like using it.

What kind of internet connection do you have?

I have DSL, 3mbps download (theoretically). But there are three computers on the network besides the PS3, and one of those is always on wireless.

Here's the computers in the house:
My mom's computer - on the router.
My computer - on the router
My two laptops - Wireless but usually turned off.
My brother's computer - Wireless and always on
My ps3 - wireless but usually turned off, who has time for games? :p
But I was able to get it all working ok with SlaughterX's solution. No more conflicts! :D
