Dont hold your breath. Unlike a certain company known for their Star Wars games, GAMEFREAK wants to make money still. A shame Drill Dozer was only well reviewed instead of well recieved by gamers.

Wow it seems like it was just yesterday when I was 10 years old and playing the partially translated Gold version rom cause I couldn't wait for Silver version to come out. Day one for sure.

I got out of the Pokemon craze when these two came out, but now that I'm back into the series (kinda) I've been interested in getting Gold.

Uh, they did remake Red and Blue, it's on the GBA (FireRed and LeafGreen).

And the games sucked; Ruby and Sapphire are significantly better if only because they games don't strip out features until the end.

Here's hoping these remakes don't get that same kind of treatment (highly doubtful).

G/S has to be my least favorite games in the series (and so far the only generation where I didn't complete the pokedex) but I do love me some remakes, particularly the ones that enhance the original with our futuristic space technology and/or bonus content. Just please for the love of all that is good and holy actually put something worthwhile in Kanto...

Wouldn't make sense for a remake, but I think they should have you control both the starting characters at once sort of like how you partner battled in D/P with other people. That way, you'd have double battles in the wild and have 12 pokemon slots.

Why would you want it even lower when there was only a 1 out of 8192 chance of finding one in the wild in the original Gold/Siver? If anything they'll probably increase the chances like they did in the newer games.

Anyway, by default, it seems to me that I'll stick with Cyndaquil, as my starter for HeartGold, seeing how Chikorita gets Peck'd heavily by Falkner's team.

Also, slightly off-topic, but my holy trinity of starters are: Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, and Mudkip.

And speaking of updated movepool I've been begging for, I hope that in GSDS (HeartGold & SoulSilver), Energy Ball would finally be chainable to Cyndaquil, since a Grass attack is the perfect complement for a pure Fire-type.

Grass type that knows Energy Ball via level up --> Seedot --> Vulpix --> Cyndaquil

Gold was my favorite, though I never could sustain my interest until the endgame. If it can trade with Diamond, I'm sold. Here's hoping for more extensive touch screen controls!

I can't wait for these games to come out! I've been hoping for this remake ever since I played FR/LG on the GBA. Like some of the others on here, the G/S era was when I started to lose interest in Pokemon, so I never really got the chance to appreciate these games when they came out.

The only question is... do I want Heart Gold or do I want Soul Silver? Hmmm.

Yay!! I'm really looking forward to this game - though when Gold and Silver first came out I wasn't very happy with them. Still I have high hopes for these remakes. I hope us westerners are not denied all of the special Pokemon the Japanese are getting, though I know I can't count on it.

You noticed that too? Awhile ago, before I knew about save batteries, my 200 hour save was deleted! SO I started a new one, but I couldn't keep the save. I kept saving and saving but ntohing was kept. :[
