Games of E3 '09

Growlanser, hands down. Ys VII and Agarest Senki are tied for second (though I would prefer the XBox 360 version of Agarest Senki, which isn't on that list for some odd unknown reason). Demon's Souls is already in English and fully importable, so it wouldn't be the end of the world if it isn't released here, even if I do want it to be.

I don't think Atlus will be mentioning any new Atlus games, I can't see them doing that until Tokyo Game Show. We'll most likely just see the new "published" titles.

When you think about it, the only game we know of coming out later in the year is SMT: Persona for PSP, other than that the slate is looking very clean.

Demon's Souls is a pretty good game, but since the game is already available in English, I'd prefer that they not waste their time on it. Going by what's on the list (even though the poll's closed), I'd have to go with Growlanser, Agarest Senki (360 version instead plz) and Ys VII, in that order.

Anyway, I'd love to see Super Robot Taisen: Original Generations, Growlanser, Absolute Blazing Infinity, and Agarest: Generations of War (Xbox 360 version) all announced at E3. That would be an excellent surprise.

Since I generally expect Atlus USA to publish "Obscure JP title the actual JP publisher was scared to bring to the west and thank god because then Atlus USA wouldn't have gotten to localize it" I'm just going to put obscure title announcements aside in hopes of finally hearing something about Shin Megami Tensei IV.

But I really expect news to break on that one from a Japanese trade show.

Even if they only do a limited print, I see no reason why any other Atlus developed game wouldn't see our shores. I'm focusing this thought directly toward the unannounced Growlanser remake for PSP. I believe that Atlus USA rushed the announcement of Persona PSP to offset the flood of leaks they'd been getting with new releases. I don't believe for a second that SCEA is blocking its release or that Atlus isn't considering bringing it over. It will come, just give Atlus some breathing room between announcements.

I'd also say that along with most any Japanese release from Success or Sting, I think Atlus's working relationship with Banpresto, Namco Bandai, and Flight-Plan on Summon Night: Twin Age and Eternal Poison could likely mean a localization of the 2008 Japanese DS remakes of Summon Night 1 & 2.

Atlus is an interesting publisher with a lot of friends, so there is no telling what else we might see. Going way out on a limb here would be a release of the PlayStation 2's Sacred Blaze by Flight-Plan, though following that crazy line of thought, Atlus could even possible manage to snag Shining Force Feather if Sega passes on it. Since it is also Flight-Plan developed and Sega is just the Japanese publisher of Feather, it's not impossible. Especially considering that Sega published Crimson Gem Saga in Japan.

On the poll I would've voted for Growlanser but that won anyway. I'm hoping we'll see something that Atlus Co. has planned for the HD consoles and the future MegaTen in general (announce SMTIV already plz).

I think they would've been announced by now, Eternal Poison came out only months after the Japanese release last year, I guess if they want to announce them together then E3 would be the last chance for that to happen but I don't think they're coming anymore (and honestly I'm not too sad about it, they're the easiest SN games in the main series and VA is mostly gone from the DS versions).

I hope Demon's Souls, Agarest: Generations of War, Growlanser PSP, Shining Force Feather and SRT OG gets announced at E3. I cannot wait to hear what is coming out that has been unannounced so far. I am pretty sure Ignition will officially announce Spectral Force Genesis' which I am also looking forward to.

If Demon's Souls and Agarest are not announced by any company, then I will import them.

RPGamer.com had an interview with Atlus about SMT: Devil Survivor (http://www.rpgamer.com/features/2009/road2e3/devilsurvivorint.html), but at the end had some "General Questions", which started with this:
"RPGamer: I imagine we're barking up the wrong tree here, but any whispers coming out of R&D 1 over in Japan? It would be nice to hear of a new-gen Shin Megami Tensei. I know you can't announce anything specifically, but might we keep an eye out for E3?

Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales: Announcing new SMT games is our parent company's territory, but you can definitely expect some surprises from us at E3."

So multiple surprises from Atlus at E3 are now confirmed... What could they be? I personally am still hoping for SRT OGs and Absolute Blazing Infinity at the very least.

I'm going to sound biased, but I do believe, that no matter what Atlus may or may not announce at E3, I'll be pleased with it. I can't say I've been disappointed with any choices they've made so far. :3

For me I have a list of the games I want to see from first being the one I would like to see the most, but of course I would like to see all of them.

SRT is one of the reasons I'm here in the forums (other than show love to altus) and it is high time for the secret of ..spencer....spencer...Growlanser I want as well because I miss playing this and want to have the rest of the series here in the states, plus I feel others should play one of the most beautiful and channeling SRPG games around. Arcana Heart 2 I would like to see but only if they can fix the issues that I have been hearing about.

I am really happy of what atlus have announced so far (Persona for psp, Demon's Souls and Steambot Chronicles Battle Tournament) and with E3 almost here, I can't wait to see what atlus has in store for us.:)
