Are they noise-cancelling? I prefer that kind, but they don't really look like the noise-cancelling kind. I'll stick with my studio-style headphones

I have these. They also look more like the ones Minato wears in game, if that's the only reason you want them.

There are two versions of the headphones: the ATH-EM7, and the ATH-EM700. The EM700 are the Japanese version of the EM7; the only differences in the two versions are that the EM7 are slightly darker, slightly heavier, and have a cloth-wound cord instead of your typical headphone cord. The weight difference is minimal, though you can tell if you compare them.
Also, the EM7 are half the price of the EM700 =P You can find them on Amazon.

I thought the difference between them was that EM700 is a newer model, nothing about regions.
My friend got the EM700s, so I've tested them both. Sound quality seems to be similiar, but in my opinion the EM7s look better. And you can't really wear the EM700s properly over your neck like with the others, so that's a huge plus with these type of headphones.

I wonder if the cord attached is strong. I have a knack for somehow getting those cords loose and end up losing sound in one of the ears. I honestly go through 3-4 pairs of headphones a year, apparently I'm rough with them and even those ones that say "Reinforced cords" don't do jack for me.

Which type do you refer to? The EM7s seem kinda strong, but there are certain risks with having clothed cords. As for the other pair, the cords are very thin.

Doesn't matter which really, both are fine. just whatever has a strong cord, it's not that i'm "pulling" them out and they get deattached completely, it's just I guess they get tugged on so much or something that internally a wire gets loose or something. It's incredibly annoying because I went through multiple pairs of headphones, two of them being Bose Triports, and a couple Sony studio headsets.

I would suggest the one with the cloth cord, then, the EM7; the EM700 has your typical headphone cord.
And as far as I know, the 700 is just the Japanese version. Let me go grab mine from my desk and check really quick, I'll edit the post.
EDIT: Yup, the EM700 is just the Japanese version. I have two pairs of the headphones, the 700 and the 7 (long story short, I got the 700 cord caught on the vibraphone at my school and it split in two pieces where the cord splits into the two separate headphones), and the only difference besides the slight cosmetic differences is the weight. Audio-Technica confirmed that to me (when I spoke to them about warranty, to get the EM7s); the specs are the exact same for the two pairs of headphones, aside from the weight.
I do find myself getting annoyed with wearing them around my neck, though; sometimes I forget they're like that and I wind up getting choked by them XD

I looked at the US dollar price; it's $150. >_> I'd kill for those headphones, but they are JUST. SO. EXPENSIVE.

Do you mean "not sound cancelling" in a positive or negative manner?

They look good, feel good, sound good, cost good BUT People around you can easily hear what you're listening to.

Then the correct sentence would be "I have these bitches, but they are not sound-cancelling." Some sentences may be confusing if not written as intended.
But the Audio Technica's do leak a lot of sound too, they are not sound proof at all.

Thanks for correcting my already correct santence.
Anywaii, it really depends on the person reading it. And wether you think it's right or not, it does not matter, cause we're in a gaming forum, not a tight-assed know-it-all school filled with grammer nazies.
And btw, English is not my native.

But most forums are mainly about discussing, so you do not want to be misunderstood. And I do not think the fact that your native language isn't English is a proper excuse, since your English seems pretty good to me.

Thank you again.
But I don't really need an excuse, I just said that for the record.

IIRC, the ones Arisato has are the EM-700s.
Thus, because I am a total and complete geek, I'd rather pick up the EM-700s after months of saving up for them. xD;;

Minato's are the EM-700s, yeah. The EM7s, though, are the exact same thing, just the North American version. They're still silver (albeit, sliiightly darker, and slightly heavier), and they actually look a little bit more like Minato's than the Japanese ones because of the cord that connects them behind your head.

Someone call me stupid but I bought the EM7 off Amazon and based on some of the sketches I've seen, Minato's headsets look more like those than the EM700 model. I know that everyone says it's the EM700 and the ones that Audio Technica released for the game are the EM700 but looking how the EM7 looks and the sketches, his headset looks more like them. I guess the differences are minor but I still honestly think so.

"The headphones of the Protagonist are made by Audio-Technica, model ATH-EM7 SV. A popular misconception is that the Protagonist wears the ATH-EM700 model, due to the fact that they were sold in Japan with the Persona 3 logo following the game's release." -Wikipedia (lolololol)
