It must be that time. Destructoid just went live with theirs; it's pretty good.

This is the sole game I bought a DS again for, can't wait for it!

I'm probably 2x more excited than the guy from destructoid is.

Interesting to see that demons are being treated as slaves. :D

I think I need to start a civil movement for demons.

Thanks for the link. Call me a newbie of that website. I'm highly anticipating the localized version of the game because I get a headache trying to read most of the kanji in the Japanese version. I really like the game so far regardless of my reading comprehension and I'm glad there is a preview or two out there worth checking out. I hope either of the major RPG sites give us a preview but it's doubtful.

Thanks for posting those links. I probably wouldn't have noticed it otherwise. It looks pretty tight if you ask me.

NP has a small feature packed in with the other upcoming games, so check it out if you can.

RPG Fan preview (http://www.rpgfan.com/previews/Devil_Survivor/index.html)

One line stuck out for me:

So imagine my excitement to learn that Devil Survivor has updated the old [demon fusion] system in favor of one that lets us, the players, select what abilities we want our demonic offspring to inherit from their "parents." That has me leaping for joy and I'm sure you are too.

This is indeed a welcome addition. I had just read the preview and was happy to hear the response. Even more eager to get my hands on it now. ...At least I'll be busy with Knights In The Nightmare until then

Only thing I didn't like about that preview was the pretty obvious ignorance toward the uniqueness/ambition of a lot of DS RPGS, particularly those that have been published by Atlus, though I have to give SE and Marvelous Interactive some credit as well for bringing original titles like The World Ends With You and Avalon Code.

It has tons of traditional RPGs, but that's never really been the draw, its been the newer ideas as well as the RPGs that dare to go even more old school than what console gamers would consider "old school."

As much as I love SMT games, RPGs in general are the reason to own a DS, moreso than any other active system out there at present. PSP does get a good mix as well, but far more traditional JRPG fare over there than on DS.
