Not bad at all, considering that bundle is the only BC PS3 that exists on the market. I'm glad I got my 60GB when I did. I wouldn't be surprised if it was sold out by the end of the day either.

I remember reading the 80GB backwards compatibility is pretty bad compared to the 20 and 60 GB PS3s. But I guess it's better than nothing.

Pretty bad? It plays like 85% of the titles out there, while the other two can do 96%. Pretty much all mainstream titles are fine on both, I dunno about more niche titles. However, I never came across a title that didn't work on my 60GB.

I'm lucky I got the Motorstorm bundle last year for 500 no tax.

Well ar tonelico 2 won't run on a 80GB and persona 4 has some odd glitch that blocks the window at the bottom of the screen telling you where you are, really only a problem in dungeons but yeah, it is more buggy than the 60GB, enough for me to be saving to get a refurb 60GB.

Switching out cables, having a "cleaner" entertainment center, etc etc. Tons of reasons for it really. There is always that ability to upscale your PS2 games, while some games it doesn't help much, there are some it really makes the game look even better. Plus its nice to have a machine that can play PSX, PS2 along with it doing it's normal PS3 games.

Where do you still see it going for $600? Maybe in Canada, however this one here isn't just the game system, back when it came out it was the only SKU that had a dual shock 3 in it as well. There is also MGS4 and a voucher for PAIN.

Not a bad deal at all. I expect to hear a price drop at E3 though. I paid 450 for my 60GB and it was worth every penny.

$600 was an estimate, BTW.

I wish I had that much money to drop on better graphics and space in an entertainment center.

Yeah I read that, had nothing to say to it.

$600? An estimate from 2006? Come on don't pull that one on me, if you're really a gamer (you're here aren't you?) you would know what the platforms are going for in stores.

60GBs are high in demand. Estimation was never my forte anyway, but I can tell whether lower or higher, it's still a lot to drop onto a console you already own.

I don't understand what the problem is. I suggested he buy a PS2, and you start playing his lawyer?

No, I'm not playing anyones lawyer. I'm just making it clear what the PS3 is going for, so there isn't any confusion among lurkers/members who might read it or be researching it.

After all, it is a thread for people who are looking for a PS3, so it's gonna attract those people's attention.

Well first i'd rather not even get a ps3 if it wasn't ps2 B/C, i'd stick with my 360,that said you can get used 60GB for 430$ and a 20GB for 380$ used, you may think it's a useless feature, but considering the many things you get out of it(like not having to spend 100$ on memory cards, wireless controllers and a system switcher since my 360 is one of those without a HDMI port), there's really nothing the "new" 80GB has that makes the ps3 worth 400$ as a game machine, if you like blue-ray, fine, but as i only care about games, it's pointless for me to consider blue-ray movie playback a feature i'd care about.

Also i have 2 working ps2's now, that's still not the point.

I never said it was a useless feature. In fact, I wish my 80gb had better backwards compatibility. I love the fact that you don't need additional memory cards, too.

I assumed by your first post that you already had a 80gb model, and that you were looking for a 60gb model because you weren't satisfied by the BC. My bad about that, sorry.
