Alright my Warrior got level 6 and was asked to swear an oath. But its not an oath to not kill little old ladies, or not eat red meat. I got four choices and none of them seemed to have much rhyme or reason.

"I swear not to pull a cat's tail."
"I swear not to eat the meat of a dog."
"I swear not to climb trees."
and one more I just can't remember.....

So has anyone figured out the impact of such? I know there is a tree climbing skill but does that mean I can't get such? Is this related to the secondary class choices in some way?!?!

The other one's don't eat fruit, and that means, well, don't eat the apples from the tree, or so I hear.

As for the others I've heard don't eat jerkey for the don't eat dog's meat one, but otherwise, I don't know. I don't have a Warrior, so I can;t confirm...Maybe that was a bad choice? Well anyway, I've heard they get easier to comprehend at Level 12 (ie: Thou shalt pray before entering the spire).

From what I've gathered, nobody has figured out what triggers breaking the cat's tail and eating dog's meat oaths. Jerky is fine, as is the mystery meat at the Inn.

Also of note is that the oaths become much easier to break as your level gets higher (IIRC, you make an oath every time your level doubles after 6, so you'll make another at 12, 24, 48, and 96 respectively). But some of the later ones are things like "Thou shalt not run away from thine enemies" and "Thou shalt not attack an unidentified foe."

If you break an oath, it raises the amount of EP you need to go up your next level. So if you need 1100 EP to go up a rank, and you break an oath, you now need 1500 EP to go up(not actual numbers but you get the idea.) Once you actually level up though, the amounts are reset as if you hadn't broken an oath. It's unknown if there's a limit to how many oaths you can break before the EP requirement maxes out, but it can get pretty high.

So yeah, don't break oaths if you can help it. Just try to choose the ones that you think won't be as big a bother.
