Imagine the ultimate reality show. Take two teams of localizators, give them the same japanese script. One of them is in charge of the dubbing, and the other one of the text translation. Lock them up for three months in two separate rooms, with no means of communicating with eachother. Combine the two masterpieces into one single game. Sell. I'm tempted to say "?????; Profit.", but I won't.

Yah I find it almost annoying to hear the dub one way and read the dialogue as something else. My brain keeps freezing as I go along as I keep trying to make sure I don't miss anything. It looks like it might be a fun game but part way into chapter one I set it down say "I'll need to pick this up one day when I can give it my undivided attention or its really going to turn me off to the game..." When I played it my first reaction was to email the company and tell them to send their translation/dub teams to Atlus for some proper training... :p

Yeah. And that whole America-Japan issue really got on my nerves. What the heck, couldn't they have picked one and settled with it? No. They had to do both. Young people these days.

This is pretty awesome, actually. I'm glad to see another company trolling people :).

If it was me, I'd have the voice guys do a completely different story from the text guys. Like, not even tangentially related.

You win a free internet, sir. And I'm not too upset about the translation, it just seems a farfetched game overall. And I'm not totally sure that a decent translation would have saved it.

Honestly, you can't expect much from a game that debuts at 19.99, including the 'deluxe' packaging.

According to Amazon, it's a $29.99 title.

If it comes down to sub-$20 price point, I guess I might get it just for the lol factor. :D

Man, I guess that I should consider myself lucky if that game includes an artbook as part of the standard $20 package.

Initially, I found out via the old DSFanboy that Marvelous Entertainment published the game in Japan, while offering CD + artbook pre-order bonus combos. It pissed me off that Ignition reduced it into an art booklet.

What's sad is that a really awesome game is under the not-quite-right translation. I will play through it and enjoy it, but I don't know if I can recommend it to other people less patient than I.

QFMT. It's a good game, but all the spelling and grammar errors make it hard to recommend to anyone else. It's got so many errors that they'd almost have to be intentional. Or they got the translation from some guy in a chat room or something. It makes Ar Tonelico 2 look good.

Haha, that's even worse. The game hasn't even been out a month yet, has it?
