They renewed my waning interest in this game. I am really looking forward to learning how the Demon Auction works. I get addicted to quirky stuff like that.

What annoys you about it? It could imply a lower reading comprehension level? Or possibly a less text heavy story? I am not so sure it bothers me at this point, and I was going to add that I like the graphics/look of the game. Maybe I am missing the point, but could you elaborate on how it annoys you?

Side note: I was going to wait for the newsletter, but I am impatient.

I was waiting for them to post the newsletter here but here goes. I'll be honest: there's something about that font that annoys me. It just looks so large. On the other hand, maybe it's better that way for the DS...
I does look a bit large...I'll get used to it.
EDIT: Also, the third screenshot links to a different shot than the preview shows..

There just doesn't seem to be much of a distinction between small and capital letters. Somehow the word "Look" (http://www.atlus.com/res/devilsurvivor_screens_04.jpg) looks goofy to me. And yes I'm slightly afraid that they could have to dumb down the lines so they can fit everything in those tiny text boxes.

But when I said "better for the DS" I did mean in terms of font size to screen size ratio... I wasn't implying that this game is for kids...

As you can see in the screenshot you've provided, the line of text is taking up about 25 characters, and is only stretching about half way through the text box. And that's only one line. Any sacrifices of the original text would be very, very minimal with a character allowance that large.

To me, the font seems to be like the default for Notepad, which doesn't bug me in the slightest.

To be fair, I'm not the only one "complaining" about the font choice. Just look at neoGAF or gamefaqs. But to be clear: I don't care! I'm just happy we're getting the game!

In any case, you're right, Jeffx. Considering the size of the DS screens, that text size will do just fine.

I'm liking what I'm seeing so far.

Huh... it never did strike me that there was something odd about the font... could be it is of such a minor concern that I couldn't bother. The only lasting and highly uninteresting complaint I can come up with about the game, is that the static demon-characters in the battles seem extremely old-school and not living up to the standards of modern day DS games. That's my opinion. If they had just a slight bit of animation in the battles, I'd be one 100% satisfied panda. Still, this is SMT and I want, no, need it very soon. Like, now.

The font kinda bugs me. It's too large. But as long as it's in english, I'll accept even the ugliest of fonts.

....maybe I'm blind when I just woke up, but I'm having a hard time telling what you mean by censored? All I'm noticing is a closer crop on the image, which aesthetically I kind of like better.

It's not censored. The ESRB rating always goes in the bottom left. The title was moved to above the artwork, as discussed here, (http://www.atlus.com/pd4.php) so the character art had to be shifted down a little.

He isn´t talking about the woman at the bottom, he is talking about the woman in the left, whose breasts have been "covered". It has been clearly censored.

i'd like to stress that i don't find this to be a big deal, but it's kind of amazing that these minor changes were made in the first place - as if people would get upset over the original cover.

I like the US box art better too. The only very minor gripe I have about it is how the two characters on the top left have their heads sort of hiding behind the title.

These changes are so silly and unnecessary. While not being dramatic changes they're even sillier than the German censoring (of violence).

what i'm really concerned about is if these sort of changes made it into the actual game. if it's just the cover, then whatever ... but altering the ingame art would be nogood. :(

Yuzu was always wearing a bra. You can see it in the JP cover, though the shadowing around the logo makes it difficult. All the JP screens have her bra, too. It's blue and white striped.

Geez, stop jumping at shadows.

Yeah, I was going to point that out but I was at work. Yuzu always had the striped bra.

And the thing about the other girl's sideboob almost looks like it was caused by them just fitting her into the adjusted frame, but I won't say one way or the other since it honestly isn't that important to me.
