Hey,

It seems that Gust will deliver its 1st current-gen title in the form of Atelier Rorona for the PS3.
I'm a big fan of the Atelier Iris games and so I was extremely happy when I heard that a new Atelier was coming out. I guess it's all up to NISA now to take care of the localization:)

Day one, just because the Playstation 3 needs more JRPGs.

Let's hope NISA does a good job this time.

:agree:

I think the PS3 just needs more titles in general.

Most likely Day One as long as finances allow it.

It'll probably look just like the PS2 ones, going by Gust's track record.

I like the Atelier games well enough. I only wish we got more of them here in the States.

PS3 breaches new records with more game breaking glitches! I am very disappointed that my Ar Tonelico II game is broken to the core.

^They thought glitches would up the difficulty.

I hope that if NISA localizes it they will have someone to check the game this time

Hmm...would be nice if this makes it here then I'd have another reason to pick up a PS3. It still doesn't have enough of a library to warrant a purchase in my eyes.

Seems like one of those alchemy spin off games.

I like the Atelier series, so I'm looking forward to this. Hopefully, the game will support patches in advance, so when NISA ####s up, they'll have something to fall back on, instead of telling me it'll work better on my PS4.

They could have at least put a screenshot in, though. :\

Does this game come out in a few weeks or does 3.27 mean something else?

Nicely put.

Anyway, the only "Atelier Iris" game that I've played is Mana Khemia. Came with the soundtrack, and boxed games are very....attractive to me.

So because someone hates something you like he's trying to be cool?

Anyway, I always felt the Atelier Series was fairly generic and could never bring myself to finish any of them. (Ar Tonelico doesn't count.) They're not bad, but it's nothing to make me excited about this one either. Of course future previews might change my mind, but I doubt it.

No, I simply think that if he hates it so much that he feels like making a post about it he should explain just what makes him hate it.

EDIT: Something that you seem to be able to do. (Not being sarcastic)

^VA never said anything about hating the series. He simply made a comment. Yeah he could have fleshed out his opinion more if he felt like it.

Anyway, let's drop it.

Is this the series with all the innuendo in the dialogue, or is that another NISA game?

You're thinking of Ar Tonelico. Ar Tonelico is a lot better---in my opinion.

^One can always hope, I guess.

In response to VJ: Dragon Quest has the ability to pick and choose the developer and the resources to wow. Atelier does not.

I would be fascinated to see what would happen if a company like NIS, Gust, or even Idea Factory was given the budget of Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest in order to make one game.

I'll probably day one it, though I still need to pick up a Playstation 3.

One more JRPG on the Playstation 3 is one less reason for me to buy an Xbox 360.

I'm less curious about the graphics and more curious as to whether this game will focus on the sim elements like earlier Atelier games or if it'll be more RPG-ish like the Iris installments.

^Judging from the screen shots there is definitely a strong rpg influence. I could be wrong, but I don't think the earlier Atelier games even had much in the way of a battle system. This game will probably be more along the lines of the Atelier Iris games.

I should really sit down and play the earlier games. The only ones I've touched are post-Iris.

Earlier games in the series have decent battle systems. They're still RPGs, but the sim elements are a lot stronger than in the Iris games.

I really didn't enjoy the Iris games. I had to push myself through 'em, so I don't know if I'd bother if I were you.

NIS will outdo themselves with this title Instead of the Game crashing on the PS3, it will cause the PS3 to crash.

I've done this only twice: I purchased the iDOLM@STER Limited Edition in 2007 and Agarest Senki in 2008. I didn't start playing the latter until a couple of weeks ago when I finally got a PS3. I won't be playing the former in the near future as I still have no plans to purchase a JPN 360 (thank goodness for the PSP, then).

I'm glad JRPGS like Roronoa are finally hitting the PS3. Hopefully we'll see much more of them after the relative success of the PS3 slim.
