So is anyone else watching the Persona 4 Endurance Run on Giant Bomb? It's almost like a MST3K variant on the game. They had a link when they announced the Amazon deal on Monday which showed the first episode and they're up to Episode 13 so far.
To the first episode if anyone's interested in checking it out. (http://http://www.giantbomb.com/endurance-run-persona-4-part-01/17-219/)
Probably not a bad thing for Gerstmann's site to have the game featured so heavily for the last two weeks. :)

I'm not sure how they'll be able to play through this entire game... it's quite a long game to be playing through, so I'm guessing they'll stop soon.
Yeah, I'm also watching this Endurance Run, but I think that as soon as the game starts getting difficult they will stop. Nevertheless, I'm cheering for them.

I actually watched the entire run and I have to say that it's making me want to play the entire game.
Vinny and Jeff seem to be liking the game a lot now that they can actually play it heh.
Hehe, in the beginning, Jeff was getting pissed off because of the never-ending introduction but I also feel that he is liking the game. Personally, I kinda liked how the dialogue is presented to you, so I didn't bother, and with the funny comments, it just gets better.
I saw them pick "normal" and I lost interest.

I think he was just about to go into full fledged rant mode... then Teddie's head came off. Watching them fight the first boss was painful though. After that I'm pretty happy they picked normal, because I'd hate to see what would happen on hard.

I wish they picked beginner so the game could flow faster and the videos, more naturally.

They said on the Bombcast that some people have been spoiling the story in the comments section of the video. And it's really starting to show in the latest episode (http://www.giantbomb.com/endurance-run-persona-4-part-40/17-386/). Some of the things they've said suggest that they may know a bit too much about what's going to happen. :(

This is the greatest thing ever their commentary on the game is hilarious, and they are actually getting pretty good at the game. Everyone should be watching this it is awesome.
They're on like episode 120 like 60hrs into the game.

I've been following their run on and off. They are pretty funny. Great commentary to one of my favorite PS2 games of all time.

I've been watching them up to 4 or maybe 5 but It doesn't seem to me like they're paying attention to the story....sure they're funny I agree on that point but It just doesn't interest me when the ones playing it aren't paying attention to the story and just joke around everytime....
So can someone that's been following this tell me if they've been paying attention to the story past part 4 (or 5)?
My connection is pretty damn slow,so loading the videos takes a LONG time to do,and I'd like to know if following their endurance run is worth it.

The Endurance Run is definitely worth it. I've watched it all (last episode tomorrow!!) and can't count the number of times I've grinned and laughed out loud. Yes, they are paying attention to the story and eveyrthing, but that doesn't stop them from making jokes to entertain the audience. Because they just have to; who would want to watch a 100-hour long game played by two guys over a period of 9 months, who are overly serious and don't crack jokes once in a while? Nobody.
Watch it. I'm not blindly praising them; I have watched all 154 episodes thus far and can't recommend it enough to Persona fans.

Giant Bomb wrapped up the Endurance Run. It was a fun ride! I recommend anyone here to watch the episodes...it's popular for a reason, and several people bought the game because of the ER.
Yes, they did pay attention to the story. I don't think they would've finished the game if they weren't paying attention (read: not showing interest). There are a lot of memorable moments in the ER. Some of my favourites were:
-Jeff and Vinny's reaction to the MC's "Mmph!" at the end of the Ameno-sagiri cutscene right before the fight started
-The entire episode with Tohru "Bitches" Adachi
-Cross-dressing pageant
-The Amagi Inn scene after the Culture Festival, where Jeff thought they were going to get it on with Kashiwagi
-Rushing the end boss
-The episode where they had intermittent hydro. They used a black-and-white filter to indicate the times when the power went out and they were using the UPS
I can't think of any other games that would work as an ER. P4 may have set an impossible standard. If they never do another ER, I'd be satisfied with what they've accomplished.
