The super Robot wars, probably one of the most famous robot videogames. Robots form all over join in this game from Mazinger to gundam. As many know this is STRPG that have you're favorite robos show off their best moves to take out any enemy in their way.

This is Tatsuya Suou, new to the forums, Gamer, Persona user and fan of the series.
Now it goes without saying that it is close to impossible to get most of the games to the states because of licensing issues. Even capcom couldn't get there latest installment of the vs. saga Tatsunoko vs. Capcom over to the US.

But as you know there is an exception to SRW, the OG series, with no franchise robots to worry about, we could still get the epic robo battles and epic moments you would find in any other SRW game. Now Atlus was kind enough to bring the gba version under the name Super Robot Taisen over here but sadly it fell under the radar and many missed it. But hope is not lost, the other games the remake of said two games. These are for the ps2 and are two of the best games in the SRW franchise. Atlus has yet to confirm about bringing the games over to the states and there is a tread about it here.http://www.atlus.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6 But I believe that because of the announcement of Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier, that atlus will give us a surprise announcement soon after.

Now, the purpose of this thread is a list of what I think would be good VAs of the characters in the game. Now I know that there are mostly voiced dialog in the battle scenes, but I would like to see them have them voiced dialog in the story like in the persona game even tough it's not in the Japanese’s import.

A few things to keep in mind in this thread is that this is in no way saying that atlus is going to use this list if the decide to release it; this is not a complete list meaning that I don't have a full list of every character who voiced the game. This is dividing of two lists; one is the main list with youtube links of the VA's and there character they voiced and the other is a one without youtube links. I am accepting suggestions to this list and what you think what VA would fit what character. ENJOY, PERSONA!

Moved to the OG series subfolder.

Moved, really? I thought that since it had to do with the PS2 version than it would be in general discussion. I guess this subfolder is ok, even though its lonely here .

Also I almost forgot, i'll be updating this as much as I can, so please let me hear your feedback on the list. I have been working on this for months and after seeing the ideal voice for endless frontier thread I just had to post this here.

No offense but I hope no one who would work on the game will see this list. Blum as Kyosuke? Seriously? Crispin Freeman as Elzam?! Thats the scariest Elzam I ever heard of.

While I appreciate you're post and seeing my list with you're honest opinion, I do not think that the people who would do the dubbed not take this list into consideration. I think that there are some VA's that fit well for the game; blum is the only one I can think of that can do Kyosuke. Originally my first pick was Yuri Lowenthal, but after seeing him in OG and hearing how deep his voice can be, I saw that Yuri wasn't fit do Kyosuke. Because of Steven Blum's way to switch between different styles in his voice so he could also pull off Kyosuke's evil side "Beowulf" if it was voiced, I’m not to sure if it was in OGG. Freeman as Elzam as well works depending on how his tone is done. I assume you saw the Overlord Zetta clip and thought that it won't work but on his roll as “orange”, I think would match Elzam well; his Japanese voice is quite aggressive from time to time. Also don't forget Freeman's roll as Zelgadis form slayers; he has shown different ways to use his va rolls in games. Besides I would loled hearing him say "Trombe"!

But you are entitled to you’re opinion, and if you don't like the va's I've picked, please post who would you think would do it better. This list is on my take on how the dub would work and I am open to changes. Here are links to of Kyosuke and Elzam to help you out in finding a better VA.

I would love to share my opinion on the subject but I gave up on this a long while back, I really could not find suitable voice actors for any of the roles.

On the subject of Blum, I would literally cry if I heard Kyosuke with that voice. There are only three characters I could possibly stomach with that voice. Bear in mind, I love the man, his work is an inspiration to everyone interested in the field, but I really dont think he fits anyone in SRW to a T. Characters I wouldnt mind hearing him (still think there are better actors for them) as would be Gilliam or Ingram. I could SEE him playing Sanger but I do not feel that would be the best choice. The man can switch styles of voice but if you hear his voice once, you have heard it every other time.

I will say your pick for Ingram though is quite good, I will give you that.

I believe Dave Petitt is a bit to gruff for Bian. The man is a monster but I dont think hes a Master Asia.

Well I could understand that interest in OG has died out a bit but since the announcement of OG Saga: Endless Frontier,http://www.atlus.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2914 we’re hoping that the OG games are next in line for a US releases.
For many Steven Blum was the beginning in high quality dub's but ever since his work as Orochimaru and Leeron, people start to get nervous of him doing any serous rolls, but after hearing him do wolverine I was convinced. But the only other va that might think would do Kyosuke is Mark Hildreth, the voice of Heero Yuy, both him and Kyosuke do share some similar traits.

I'm glad you like my pick of Ingram, I would like to see that VA in the game. Wow, you don't think that Bian Zoldark could pass for Master Asia's younger brother? But I guess the only other va I could see do the roll is Richard Newman, the voice of Rhinox from beast wars, but I want him to do Maier Branstein.

Remember for those who read this keep checking out the list since I am updating from time to time and I will add another list with the OG charters in there Japanese voices for comparison.

Tatsuya Suou

Now I want to try something, because the original voices of OG are done so well it dose make perfect sense that many who would want Atlus to release the game here, always say to keep the Japanese voices in it. I agree to this as well but I would like to see if atlus can pull off dub of equal or greater quality. And because many say that the resin it hasn't been releases is because of whether or not the game should have a dub in it. I say that it should and have an option to switch to Japanese voices so we would have the full experience.

I have made a second list of most of the characters that I have gave English VAs in there original voices feathering all of the attacks of there main Mechs. Keep in mind I don't have all the ones I listed in the pervious list and I have added some that don't have English VAs. This list is to give those who haven’t heard the OG cast in the best and to see if they could find good VA's for them in case Atlus dose announce that they will release it after Endless Frontier. I don't think I have to say that these links do spoil some of points of the game and they all feature every attack of their mechs. Enjoy, PERSONA!

Aya Kobayashi – Tara Platt
Ingram Prisken – Troy Baker

Kyosuke Nanbu – Dave Wittenberg
Excellen Browning – Julie Ann Taylor
Brooklyn "Bullet" Luckfield – Sam Riegel

Thank you; this is exactly what I mean. I would like to hear others opinions on what VA's would work.

Now on my take on you’re suggestions; Patrick Seitz as Rai is an interesting pick. Now honestly I only heard him most in his roll as Isshin from Bleach, Joe from Gun X Sword and Dracula in the Castlevania series. The resin I picked Alex Zahara for Rai's voice is solely for his roll as Lockon Stratos even though he really hasn't done much before that.

Troy Baker as Ingram is also good; I have heard him do Jin Kariya from Bleach and Frank Archer from Fullmetal Alchemist. If atlus can't get Jason Douglas to do it than I wouldn't mind if Baker dose it.

Dave Wittenberg is ok I guess, I don't think he get the tone right for Kyosuke. I know he's known for Kakashi Hatake from Naruto but my take on why he could voiced Tetsuya Onodera is for his roll in Allen Ridgeley in the Xenosaga series and Welkin Gunther from Valkyria Chronicles.

Skip Stellrecht as Sanger Zonvolt really doesn’t think would work. Keep in mind the only thing I have heard him do recently is Might Guy from Naruto, if he'd use his voice of Vicious form Cowboy Bebop then it could work but he doesn’t shout as much in that roll. Now why I think Christopher Sabat is the ideal roll for him is the links that I posted, namely his roll as Giroro in the test episode of Sgt. Frog. After hearing him in that and as Zoro in One peace, I think it was perfect for Sanger. This is the same thing for Wodan Ymir, I don't want to spoil for those who haven’t played OG2 but Wodan and Sanger share the same voice. So we would need someone who could do both rolls and alters them slightly, like how Sabat could do and my example is his work as King Piccolo in Dragonball.

Masaki voiced by JYB could work but I want him to do Ryusei, I don't think Vic Mignogna could voice Ryu. Now this is a little weird as to why I want Eric Vale for Masaki, is that Masaki kind of reminds me of trunks from Dragonball Z. Other that Eric and Masaki sound kind of alike, he shows up in the middle of the OG games from another world like trunks (other than trunks is from the future) and his Cybuster's ideal weapon is a sword. Not to mention the way he vows to hunt down and kill shu is strangely similar to how trunks wanted to kill the androids. Vic Mignogna might not make a good Ryusei Date for me, but for Giganscudo's pilot Tasuku would be perfect for Vic Mignogna. You know what; I'll change Tasuku's VA for Vic since he is a better pick than Mike Sinterniklaas. Thanks for the idea!

Now Kirk Thornton as shu is good if they don't use Liam O'Brien. I am still unsure what a good VA for shu would be but for now I pick Liam O'Brien for how he sounds in his many rolls. I don't think JB Blanc could Elzam. He did do Arturo Plateado from Bleach: Shattered Blade, but I’m not sure his voice would fit Elzam well. David Lodge is defiantly a good roll for Bian Zoldark. I would settle for him or Dave Pettitt.

Once again thank you for you’re thoughts on VA's, I want this dub of OG to be something special. And who knows, If atlus is working on bring it here and is looking at this list thread for ideas than we might get some good English voices for a long awaited game.

Truth be told, I was going to give Rai to Troy, but...eh, thought he'd be better as Ingram. As for Skip, I thought he had the energy to pull it off. You know funny thing is I have not considered the location of the VA's or if they were from the PB Productions. I am aware that the VA's that I listed are mostly from Canada and Texas but giving that I didn’t thought of it at the time, I just listed what I think would work. You list is good if altus were to use PB Productions, but since I am not sure of how atlus chooses VA's for there localization, I just thought of voices for the game as I were an anime. I do know as far as my VA list is concerned, the one's that I know have worked with Atlus at the time is Johnny Yong Bosch, Steven Blum, Wendee Lee, Crispin Freeman, Michelle Ruff, Yuri Lowenthal and Liam O'Brien. I also know that most of the VA's I listed either haven't worked with Atlus in VA's like Christopher Sabat and Dave Pettitt or never voiced a videogame before like Cynthia Martinez and Jason Douglas.

Now on to you're revised cast; David Vincent is much better for Rai. I have herded him do both Van from Gun X Sword and Richter Belmont from Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles and both were pretty good. If he had a deeper tone in his voice than I would have used him for Sanger Zonvolt because fun fact about his roll as van, he actually shouts "Chesto!" from time to time.

Grant George as Kyosuke is good and weird in my book. On one hand he did a good job as Izuru Kira from Bleach and Shinjiro Aragaki from Persona 3, but on the other hand I also heard him do Midboss from Disgaea and Axel from Disgaea 2.

By now you must of notice that I didn't commit on the female VA's as of yet. The resin being is that I am still not sure how they would work, the same goes for my list as well. The only female VA's that I am confidant about are Kate Higgins as Lune Zoldark, Stephanie Sheh as Latooni Subota, Michelle Ruff as Mai Kobayashi/Levi Tolar and Wendee Lee as Excellen Browning. Kate as Lune would work because at the time I list it I was first playing Alpha Gaiden as well as saw some OG clips of her and her seiyu reminds me a lot of how kate sounds like. Stephanie Sheh as Latooni I was unsure of at first but after looking up Latooni's seiyu in OG and came across the "Latooni Special" I was convinced Stephanie can pull it off. Michelle Ruff (or I call Rukia Ruff) is also a given for me after finishing OG for the GBA and seeing a clip of Levi with Judecca; she can also pull of a younger voice when it comes to mai. Now on to my last VA I must say that I think the hardest one to voice is Excellen Browning. As we all know Excellen is made of both sex and lulz and her seiyu shows it. I think the only one who could hope to handle the VA is Wendee for not only her history but the pairing with Steven Blum voicing Kyosuke works in the cupules department for they have done many rolls together. You're picking Julie Ann Taylor for the VA is also good for Excellen, but if I were to pick an alterative it would be Megan Hollingshead for her roll as Rangiku Matsumoto from Bleach. However, I have chouse to give Megan the VA roll of Garnet Sunday because many forget that she is similar to Excellen in many way's but is mostly overlooked.

Now that that has been said I have updated my list for those who wish to see. Right now I am in the middle of OG2 for the gba, so I'll try to add more as I go. The updates include Alfimi Einst, The Inspectors and Giado and Garnet. I also updated my list two a bit, now it includes a little something I call "Trombe Ultra". Be sure to check them out and give my you're opinions and suggestions.

Just a little update on the two lists. In the va list I have added va's for Uruz/Ansuz/Thurisaz Egret and Rio Mei Long. I think I found a good one for Rio but am unsure about the Machine Children. For the "seiyu" voice comparison I added Rio, Giado and Garnet with Shishioh Blade, the Bergelmir's and a little thing I would like to call "Lamia Lulz'';).

Some notes on the two of the videos; I am shocked and surprised on how hard it is to find videos that have Giado, Garnet and Rio. I am aware they are not as important as other characters and two of them I think aren’t even in Gaiden, but it gets difficult finding a good VA for them with such little voiced videos. Notice the numbered on the side indicated where the part that has them with there mechs own Shishioh Blade so you could go strait to it. When I found out that the seiyu (Japanese Va) for Lamia is the same as Aschen from the upcoming Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier, I was surprised because it is funny how she changes her voice to serous to hilarious. Then I ran into the Lamia Lulz clip and now I see it. The VA's I listed for her focus on her serous side and I assume those voices are extras, so I hope that when we find out the dub for Endless Frontier that they give Aschen a good voice.

As always enjoy the vids and post you're options and suggestions for VA's.

Whoa triple post, anyway I have made some more updates. First on list two, I have posted videos of Fighter Roar (without Compatible Kaiser), Yuuki and Carla, Leona with the ART-1, and this hard to find vid of Kai that I call "Major. Kai Epic". A little note on Kai in regards to his VA (Michael Dobson), in case you're wondering on why I chose it is because of his recent roll as Sergei Smirnov. After hearing it I thought it would work well for Kai Kitamura.

Another update on list two is combination attacks, namely team ATX and team SRX. At first I wasn't going to add these because I thought I had enough clips of them with voiced dialog, but since I posited Royal Heart Breaker, Twin Bird Strike and DaiTrombe and this list did needed SRX, I figured why not. For the SRX team there is R-Formation and the SRX from alpha and OG. For ATX there is each version of the Rampage Ghost.

Now for list one, not much has been updated; I fixed one link for Excellen Browning's VA' sample (Needer Fan). For those who wonder why I posted that link of a filler character roll that Wendee Lee did is because when I hear her do that voice it reminds me how Excellen sounds like in Japanese.

I also added one more voice sample link for Sanger Zonvolt (Piccolo). Now I know some of you are looking at me funny about my VA choice for Sanger, like "why Christopher Sabat?" I how thought of other voices that might work but I chose Sabat for some of the resins I posted above and I just that that it works well for an experiences badass like Sanger, that is also why I posted sabat's roll as Zoro. I also know he has done some other swordsman rolls as well.

The last update is the VA's for Lamia Loveless, This time it's Luci Christian or Bridget Hoffman. My first va's only focused on Lamia's serious side, but after my last post on the Lamia Lulz, I found out about a few things. After reading a Youtube commit I found out that the seiyu (Kaori Shimizu) was actually reciting other anime va roll's she did for an extra (and random) lines for Lamia. Both Bridget Hoffman and Luci Christian did the va for KOS-MOS in xenosaga (Luci Christian in the anime and Bridget Hoffman in the game). But the problem is the seiyu for KOS-MOS (Mariko Suzuki) is Echidna Iisaki from OGG and Kaldia Basirissa from SRTOGS so I'm not sure who would do it. It could be Bridget Hoffman for Kaldia and Luci Christian for Aschen or vice versa.

Now I'm not sure how much more I could find, I know I am not including the ones in SRW R or SRW impact(other than Folka Albark) but it is only because I haven't played them myself and these VA's focus on OG 1 and 2 for the gba. I would also like to get you're opinion on something, if Atlus where to dub this and I just hope they will bring it here, how would you like the VA's to pronounce names and attacks? A good example is DyGenGuard, Episode 30; as we know Sanger's best and last mecha has two names for it (Digenguard and DiSanger). And Sanger moves in OG2 then to have the original names for his attacks and translated version of them. My question is if you were given a choice how would you like to see it translated. (Sidenote: I found it funny that Atlus commit on it in OG2.

See you for now.

And to add to your list;

Vic Mignogna: Masked guy

Tatsuya Suou

You mean Fighter Roar, AKA Kohta Azuma? Good choice but funny thing is I just added two possible VA's for him that I was going to announce in my updates on my next post. As it stands I have Vic Mignogna do the VA of Tasuku Shinguji(Giganscudo piloit) but I could see him do that roll to. The VA's I pick are Chris Patton and Greg Ayres, both were in the dub of the anime Gravion. (Where interestingly enough the design of the Compatible Kaiser has the same designer as the Gravion)

Before I finish my update a question has crossed my mind. Since as you see my VA list has a full set of talented dub actors that would require huge funds. My question is that if in some cases that atlus did dub this game and would require that some VA's due multiple rolls, who would you want to do them and with which character? For now I would take Zeta_Nova advice and have Vic Mignogna do both Fighter Roar and Tasuku. I also would like to point out that I have yet to add a VA with a lot of experience in multiple rolls, Scott McNeil. I am thinking about giving him a VA roll but could not find one.

My next post will have a few more updates and a new list that I will explain once I post it.

They always use PB Productions.

And, Steve Blum and Crispin Freeman don't voice in nonunion stuff anymore. =(

Yeah I forgot about that, but I wonder about the whole union, non-union thing for VA's. I do know that it dose have some effect when it comes to dubbing anime, but I have no idea if it effects games the same. In regards to both Blum and Freeman I know that they both voiced in SMT: Digital Devil Saga (Blum for Gale and Freeman for Heat) and both were un-credit for it. I don't know if the nonunion concept is for a company or a particular game as well. Like I said before I know that is more of the case in anime. A good example (and when I first heard about it) was in discussions on character VA's for Naruto and Bleach both are licensed by VIZ media. I assume the whole union/non-union thing is in effect in a particular animes than company. I say this because in Blum's case, he has yet to VA any characters in Bleach however he has VA a character in a BLEACH game. So the non-union concept might be a moot point if OG is by a union but then again I don't really know so I can't say one way or another.

If what you say is true about Altlus mostly use PB Productions VA's than I would like to make a retooled VA list that reflects that; however I can't find any information about PB Productions VA's. I have tried looking around for research but came up with nothing. As I said before, this is just my take on how a dubbed OG would be. If you have more information on Atlus use of PB Productions VA's than I would appreciate it.

Now for all those who are waiting for my next update, you won't have to wait much longer. I sure those who have view this thread saw my slight updates in the past days. Those updates include the following: The first list has new VA's for Archibald Grims, Yuuki Jegunan, Carla Borgnine and Kohta Azuma aka Fighter Roar; for list two includes improved vids of SRX and Kurogane, a replaced Valsione vid(this time without Thrudgelmir in the end); I also added the Alteisen Riese, Radha Bairaban's Gespenst Kick(on 4:40 -5:15) and Elzam with Guarlion Trombe.

My next update will include a new list that completely goes against one of my earlier post. See you soon.

*shrug* Well, they don't do work over there anymore.

If you look at Persona games, Odin Sphere, Eternal Poison, Trauma Center, Luminous Arc, Yggdra Union, you'd probably get the basic talent pool Atlus has.

EDIT: ...*just realized I ended up in the account I originally registered for* ...>_> Well...guess this one finally works.....heh.

*shrug* Well, they don't do work over there anymore.

Too bad I guess; it seems like most people are getting tired of Blum and Freeman since you're the second one on this thread who seem to dislike the idea. I don't know I haven't got to that point yet.

If you look at Persona games, Odin Sphere, Eternal Poison, Trauma Center, Luminous Arc, Yggdra Union, you'd probably get the basic talent pool Atlus has.

Thanks for that, unfortunately I have only owned Odin Sphere and the Persona games. I have did a little research on the VA's on Eternal Poison and Luminous Arc and they have some good one's and some I suggested for my list( like Michelle Ruff for Levi Tolar /Mai Kobayashi and Liam O'Brien for Shu Shirakawa.)

Alright Altlus views and OG fans, I have finished my new updated list three that I call "the EX list". This list bypasses my commit on not using vids involving characters and mecha that are from SRW R, MX and compact-3(note: I meant to say compact-3 not impact since that had Kyosuke, Excellen ect). Like I said I haven't played the games and OG 1 and 2 didn't have the cast of R, MX and Compact-3; but since many who have viewed my thread and they are just as important in OG/OGG as everyone else in the gba versions. This is also the case in finding VA's for them. I base my VA's from two things, one is the see how they match the Japanese’s counterparts and two going with the translations that were giving to us in OG/OG 2 that show us there personalities.

But before I do that I have some updates on the other two lists. For list two I replaced Dygenguards Default Weapons (non- Zankanto) that is a bit more pleasant to the ears. For list one since I added a VA for Fighter Roar I decided to add some more that aren’t in OG 1 and 2 just to try it out and see if they would be good picks, The VA's are for Fighter Emmy aka Shoko azuma and the Gureden siblings, Raul and Fiona. I also added another vid for Ingram Prisken's VA and added another VA pick for Alfimi Einst to reflect on my last post for PB Productions VA’s, although I don’t think I’ll change my picks too much. This is truly my idea on an OG dub and it will have some that are almost impossible to use. (I’m surprised no one notice my pick for my last VA of Folka Albark, Mark Gatha. Indeed he does the dub of Domon Kasshu from G Gundam and Megaman X, but after some sources say he is a doctor now who could say if he even dose VA’s anymore, even though it is unconfirmed.)

Now on to this new list, I get this out right away. The main reason I made this new list is that I actually reached the limit of how much text I can add to list two. So that means that list two is more or less done with. This list has most of the characters and mechs from R, MX and C-3 and they're move list. This list also has random links that was going to be in list two (some hard to find ones to like Bian Zoldark with Valsion) as well as something that I found that I think is another extra that is in the game. Text 1 and 2 has voices of various characters in OG that pretty are funny and there might be more that I haven't found yet. Speaking of that, I have this must watch vid that is none other than the Excellen special. (or should I call it Excellen love?) Like the Latooni Special and the Major. Kai Epic this is a vid that has our lady of sex and lulz piloting various mechs and having too much fun doing it. This vid alone is proof that this game must have a language option and dubbing Excellen Browning would be the most difficult one to do for VA’s (which is why I want a legend such as Wendee Lee to give it a try). There are even two separate vids of her outside of the Excellen love video.

The EX list is mostly all I could find of vids for OG/OGG characters/mecha and I'm glad that all of you viewed and enjoyed them. I am not going to add some of the bosses I found as to not spoil the game more than I already did; that being said remember that these vids do show most if not all the moves for the characters mechs. I also realized that most view this thread mostly for those vids and not so much on my VA suggestions due to the few replies other than me. So as I said before give me you're opinions and suggestions on what you think would make a good dub for OG. Enjoy and happy viewing, PERSONA!!!

I have new updates for all to view, and it looks like I maxed out this list as well. What I decided to do is switch some vids of ex and add them as well as some others to this post.

Since I can't update list two anymore I just go for list one and EX update. For list one I added a VA for the Scarlet Comet, Sleigh Presty and Shirogane Captain, Lee Linjun.

The EX list has many new vids, some with Excellen, some with Aya and many others. I also added some battle scenes that many OG players are familiar with as well as vids on characters and mecha that are exclusive to OG/OGG. You may have notices the inclusion of videos from other games like alpha and impact. I added them to show more of the characters and mecha from the OG games.

There is one more thing I must fix, I adjusted the text video and now there is one since those who have viewed it found out that it's the same vid. And I found out that the text is special dialogue you receive after you quick save and quit you're game. This may be all you get but if you see the end of "Major. Kai Epic" you see dialogue of the Aggressors. There are many extras in this game that once Atlus brings it over to the US then you'll get two really complete games.

Now for EX Gaiden list there are some from the last list as well as added a few more and some Gespenst Kick love. There are two that I posted that I wanted to explain; the Ingram/ Cobray event has nothing to due with my dub suggestions and one is from a scene from the anime Divine Wars. I posted for an Idea for OG3 if it ever happens and for a thought that came to mind. The text one has no voices in it and as most of you know that how it mostly is only with some text gets voiced. (I based this on my play though with @ Gaiden) My thought is should they give dubbed for the no-voiced text or showed they only be partially voiced.

I know many of you properly don’t care if it has a dub in it and just want a translated game, but for me I want this to be done completely, for those who are new to the game and just to see if they can make it sound good. I do hope the quality is on par to games like Odin Sphere and Digital Devil Saga. Now that this is maxed all and properly last updates will be on this post.

I think it's time for another list for the thread, only this time I'll focus back on my va suggestions. In some of my suggestions on va's for OG charters I had videos to demonstrate how they sound for the characters I put them on. Others have the va's next to the character I think would fit the roll.

Most of them are from my experience in anime and game dubs and some might not be even possible. In some of the earlier post there was mentioning of Atlus mostly using PB production VAs Like I said my expression is mostly with SMT games and Odin Sphere. (I don't think the Disgaea series counts because they only localized the first game before NIS America took over it.)

This list has VA's that I could work for the dub, but there is only one thing. If you look there are Va's whom I have next to OG name on list one and there are some vids that don't have OG name next to them. Those VA's are ones I think could work for OG but I have no idea which character to pair them with. Also like list one, some vids have the character they have dubbed.

I made this list to prevent list one to suffer maxing out the text like I did with two other threads. So take a look and see witch VA would work for OG and like I posted before make suggestions on what you think would be good VA's for OG. And if you can post links of anime/game dubs characters to show how you're VA sound like. Keep enjoying the thread and take care. PERSONA!

Not too long ago I found something that might fit perfectly for the thread. Originally from the "Voice-Acting Article" and Atlus Production Diaries Issue #8: INSIDE THE VOICE ACTORS' STUDIO thread this Atlus Article by lead editor Nich Maragos, gives an insight on the whole process in voice acting.

I found it interesting and this helps to show how Atlus handles their VA talents. Check it out and as always if you have any suggestions for a VA that would work for OG than feel free to express you're opinion. And of course check out the thread that I found this in for the Kotaku Article that shows the concerns in quality voice acting in videogames.

Now since this thread has reached over 1000 views I decided to give viewers some more OG goodness this time in AMV style. Now this has nothing to do with the dub suggestions, I just want to post this as a gift to those who view the thread. I have before you 8 music videos that show the best OG has to offer. Most of the music is from SRW J-Rock stars "JAM Project", a must watch for anyone who is a SRT fan. Hope you enjoy and...PERSNOA!

Well let’s see, if you look at the videos I have posted as example than you could see for yourself. From my own personal experience, VA's like Johnny Yong Bosch, Steven Blum and Yuri Lowenthal (from what I heard can speak a little Japanese) can handle Japanese names fine. I would like to commit on you’re first quote in the OG thread over here.

No it isn't. It's just the way YOU want it. And at least with Endless Frontier, you're getting it. :p
Yes, it is! As american voice actors WOULD probably PRONOUNCE the characters' names in english, straightfoward ways, like "Real say Dah they", "Shoe She-Ra cow ah!","Cool zoo ha! Missou ha!" or "Real toe He cow ah!". :P

I personally think you're exaggerating a bit much. I may have agree to some extend as some names and attacks can be hard to pronounce for anyone. A good example is Kusuha's chants in her attacks while piloting Ryukoou. Even with a high budget dub, it is impossible to get it perfect; and if it is somehow close to perfect there will be many fans who will nitpick constantly on maybe one or two words not sounding right. And it is not just Japanese names to worry about; you may not know this but the whole SRW series (the Banpresto Originals to be precise) use names from many other languages. There are names in Hebrew, Latin, French, Greek and even German (just to name a few) so you see it won't be perfect but I fell Atlus can find a good VA cast for this.

Also for viewers I have some updates on my list. There are only a few and it looks like I won’t find any more videos on Giado, Garnet and Rio. My updates are a VA for Neu Regisseur, Leader of the Einst and three videos for EX Gaiden (Alfimi vs Neu Regisseur, Code: T.K Card and the final battle against Stern Regisseur). As posted before I still would like you're opinion on if Atlus should find a way to have the text to be fully voiced (even though it isn't done in Japanese) I beat both game's and I love some of the text dialogue in it and would like to see if those memorable lines done fully voiced. I also wound’s mind if they have a joint agreement with Banpresto to make a new international version where the voiced text is in Japanese as well. One more thing if atlus can find a company other than PC productions, witch one would you like then to work with? My pick would be The Ocean Group for they’re long history in anime and games.

Hmm, I was actually thinking of this earlier, and I think Dave Wittenberg would be better for Kyosuke, in particular his Kakashi style voice, his softspoken voice and pissed off voice seem more suited towards Kyosuke than Blum's voice, his voice to me would seem more well suited towards a character like Masaki, and Bosch's voice seems more suited towards Arado to me. Also, Jim Cummings would be a good choice of voice actors, he's very talented, and can do many different types of voices. (Darkwing Duck, the Cheshire Cat, Winnie the Pooh, Minsc, just to name some of his more notable work)

I would say that Dave Wittenberg would make a good Kyosuke; I would even say that Bluim could do Masaki well. It's just for me, I have a character that Dave Wittenberg would be better suited for. I agree that he's good when he does Kyosuke and under normal circumstances I could see him do Kyosuke that is until I played a little game called Valkyria Chronicles. His roll as the main lead Welkin Gunther got me thinking, he can make a good captain. At the time I was playing the game I was trying to figure out a good voice for deputy captain Tetsuya Onodera (http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/2598/tetsuyamisc.png), commander of the Kurogane (http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/5696/kurogane.png). Until I can find another one who can do that roll, I would have to stick with it. Masaki and Arado is the same concept; Blum I really don't see him as Masaki. The reason I say that is that Masaki has a distinct (and sometimes hot-blooded) voice about him. As shown in this video of Cybuster in SRW @ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z52H5RoYSjE&feature=related) and in this SRW OG OVA clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yM0oe5ovZfw&feature=related), it can be difficult for Blum to pull off.( then again he did an impressive dub of Leeron’s voice from Gurren Lagann) Eric Vale, as impossible as it might sound at first, to me his voice of trunks sound like Masaki to me. Bosch's for Arado is a good one to use. It fits his funny side as well as his serous side well, but like before if I were to pick between Arado and Ryusei, then it would be Ryusei. I can imagine hearing the voice of Renton when Ryusei goes on and on about giant robots and then the voice of Ichigo when he smashes an enemy with the T-link knuckle. Now on Jim Cummings; good VA?:Yes, good VA for giant robot anime?:not sure. You would have to give me an idea on who he would voice in the game so I can see if it would work.

All right, it has been awhile but I have some updates for the thread. As stated before, there will be less new videos and VA suggestions I can find. So I decided to do an update on my 1000+ views post were I treat you, the viewers to more SRW AMV goodness. I also updated the dub suggestions in the first posts; and the new VA suggesting is....Ouka Nagisa, big sister of Arado Balanga, Seolla Schweitzer and Latooni Subota. The VA I think is a pretty good one for those who have watch Fullmetal Alchemist. There is also a vid for EX Gaiden, Persoenlichkeit vs 9-way combo. Now on to the AMV updates; I have 7 new videos that as before feature OG robots in amv fashion thus making a total of 15 videos. Now as you see these new videos, you will notices and * next to some. The reason for this is because those videos feature characters and mecha that have yet to appear in OG/OGG as of yet. (some examples is DaiRaioh (http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/3633/dairaioh.png) and Werkbau (http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/6853/werkbau.png)) Plus there is a little gundam in it, just to let you know. The last one that has a SP next to it because it is something completely different than the others. That vid is a tribute to one of OG's most complex charters Ingram Plisken and his counterpart Cobray Gordon complete with a vocalized version of his theme song.

There is one more thing I want to say before I end this post. First I would like to make a small list of VA's that I want the most, regardless of how atlus dose it.

Ryusei Date: Johnny Yong Bosch
Excellen Browning: Wendee Lee
Sanger Zonvolt/Wodan Ymir: Christopher Sabat
Brooklyn "Bullet" Luckfield: Richard Ian Cox
Ingram Prisken: Jason Douglas
Levi Tolar /Mai Kobayashi: Michelle Ruff
Latooni Subota: Stephanie Sheh
Masaki Ando: Eric Vale
Lune Zoldark: Kate Higgins
Axel Arma: Yuri Lowenthal
Shu Shirakawa: Liam O'Brien
Folka Albark: Dr. Mark Gatha

This list is the ones I hope will be in the game if it gets dubbed. Another thing is I want to explain to those who would still ask the question, why would you want this dubbed. I know many of you are thinking, if this game gets released here than why would you care so much if it has English voices or not. Well my reasoning my seem mostly personal but it would have to do with sonys policy, Pronunciation and my own curiosity. The sony policy as many say sates that a game released on a playstaon system has to have a English language option in it. Now I don' know if this is true, whether or not this counts for every game or if it is still in affect, I myself only heard about it in some discussions on one of the reasons OG/OGG would be unlikely to come here. Next is pronunciation; this is a weird one but hear me out. There are times when I find myself having a hard time how to pronounce a name in a game when it is not voiced. OG 1 & 2 has a lot of terms, robots and atacks that can be hard to say I try to figure out how to say them. Good example is the Weissritter; at first I had a hard time figuring out how to say it's name but after playing endless frontier I found out by the voices but it is different from what I first thought it would be. Have it in English would help because I can hear the names more clearly.(even though EF is Japanese’s only, you could hear the cast call the names of the three robots) the last is my own curiosity; I know that it can be debated that if dubs in games are overall good or bad but with this game one of the most favorite things is the characters voices.( Excellen Browning, nuff said) In a way i can understand those who would dread herring the game in English. But as I said before if atlus were to treat the games voices as if it were a giant robot anime than it could work. I also suggests strongly that it has dual audio for both English and Japanese’s because even though I do want to here this dubbed, I still want it in original japans voices.

So those are the updates for now. E3 is in a few weeks and atlus has yet to show all there products. With the new announcement of Demon's Souls (http://www.atlus.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3648), there is still hope that his will be next in the announcements. Now even if they announce the game, I think it is still to early for a trailer for it. If atlus were to give one than I think they should use this ideal one for the game. My hope that in E3 we will geting long awaited Super Robot Taisen:Original Generations Trailer from atlus (maybe).
