View Full Version : Just finished this, what next?
Hi all, I loved P3, and P4 even more. Now I'm going to play a couple of other games before committing myself to another 60+ hour epic, but when I come back, what game in the SMT universe should I get next? I loved the story telling and setting of P3&4, but when I tried the combat of P1, I found it horribly slow and old. What other SMT games have fast combat ,ala P3 and P4?I'm hoping there's people here that know more of all the SMT games than me that can tell me what's the next most newb friendly game in the series.

I plan on going from P4 to Devil Summoner so when I get my Preordered Devil Summoner 2 I can play it and know something of how it works. I hear its a great play.

Someone had this same dilemma as well, sort-of. A lot of good recommendations and thoughts already posted for ya.
I'll try Devil Summoner, and Nocturne got suggested a lot in the other thread. Thanks a lot guys!

I have only played P3 and P4, Nocturne and DDS. Nocturne is better than DDS, but it's so damn difficult. But all of them are really good.
Well, just play the New Game plus, I guess? Try to make Izanagi no Okami...

My problem with most of the SMT games is that they are focussing too much on combat and dungeon crawling,
which gets really monotone for me after a while.
After picking up P3 a while I bought Nocturne and I was incredibly disappointed.
Are all other SMT games like Nocturne ?
Or is there any SMT game with a stronger focus on characters and plot ?

Digital Devil Saga features real persons as party members, so it got some more story and especially more characters than Nocturne. But the focus on combat and dungeons are only slightly smaller.

Thanks, I guess I'll give it a shot then. :)
The combat and dungeons in Nocturne were actually really good,
but there was not enough character interaction in it to motivate me to clear
those dungeons.
Lets see how DDS does it.

Yeah, since the world actually is filled with people, more or less, makes it a less lonelier experience than Nocturne was for me. But it still feels lonely sometimes.

Sure thing.
Hopefully it will arrive in the mail tomorrow.
It will help me to pass some time until Persona 5. :p
Man.. I wonder what P5 will be like.
It will probably be about people flushing themself down toilets to enter
the Midnight Sewer.
Hahaha... but yeah, I admire the creativity in that department.

Girimekhala is Level 48 Moon
Hiero+Star = Moon
Devil+Emperor = Moon
Hanged Man+Priestess = Moon
Emperor+Empress = Moon
There are more combinations, but I figured this was enough. Just try to fuse two persona below level 48, but not too low and you should come up with a Girimekhala.
If you need help getting a lot of extra Persona, the easiest thing for me was using a physical resist or preferably repel persona on the 9th floor of Heaven. Every monster on that floor uses nothing but physical attacks (I think there is one group that is rarely encountered that uses Zio attacks). With this, you can quite literally stay there forever and keep fighting to draw cards. This will work anywhere, of course, though the best on that floor. But on my first playthrough, that was how I was able to get a huge percentage of my persona. I chilled on that floor until I filled up on persona then went and had fun fusing. After, I'd go back and get more.
