This game looks fantastic!
I saw a few video's of previews and I'm confused as hell to how it plays. It looks pretty different which is a good thing. Games need more change, ya know?

To bad this won't be in till june.

I totally agree, it looks confusingly phenomenal. If it has lots of numbers, grids, flashy effects and is presented by Atlus, I'll buy it. I can't wait to learn more about this one...

I've been playing the import for a couple of months. This game is amazing! If your a fan of the DS, Srpgs, Shooters, Riviera The Promised Land, Yggdra Union, Angels and Demons, Awesome Music, Revolutionary Gameplay, and/or the feeling that you have been transported to another world, well then...Get on the Bus!

That it does. Very much so actually. The best way to sum this game up is strategy shoot em up. You're a Wisp that runs around dodging enemy attacks. At the same time, you have to possess the spirits of the Fallen Knights and order them to attack. Getting hit reduced your time meter. Using attacks also reduces it. The Knights have weapons that they can use under either Order or Chaos conditions. The difference between those are mainly their ranges and possibly damage.

The Knights themselves also have a certain degree of vitality. After a while, they'll fade away. To keep yourself from losing good units, you can perform Soul Transfers. When you transfer a soul to another, you permanently lose one, while the remaining soul gets their vitality as well as certain stat changes.

As for the story, you can get all of the intro from the video trailers. I can't wait for this to drop.

Although for the full effect I ought to hunt down and play Yggdra Union before this hits, or at least go through Riviera again.

I am so excited!

I was thinking about finding riviera because I never played that one after hearing about this release but I have too much of a back up of current games owned. No time and too many great games coming out, but I am getting this one no matter what. It looks so unique.

I'm very excited about this game. It's right there alongside Devil Survivor as my most anticipated game of first-half 2009.

It looks amazing and sounds absolutely wild. I mean, RTS+RPG+bullet-hell? Who would think of such a thing, and how could they take such insanity and make it so pretty?

And who knows, maybe the bullet-hell aspect is just there to get us warmed up for Ketsui Death Label. :p

I'm still a bit bitter at Sting(And Atlus) after Baroque. The one time I should have actually listened to Nintendo Power and I didn't. I bought it full retail and I should have just took two twenties and wiped my ass with them. It would have gone to better use. Although this looks interesting even though I don't know WTF is going on in any of the screens I've seen. So it's a maybe for me.

Ooh! Big slam on Baroque from out of nowhere...

I'm in that 0.47 percent who thinks Baroque is awesome, and if you couldn't get into it you should probably do a lot of research before jumping into another bizarre Sting game. KitN comes from Sting's top dev team and should be more polished, but I expect most reviewers won't explain it well.

Yeah I probably spent more time playing Baroque than I should've. We really need more dungeon crawlers / roguelikes on the Wii. It's slim pickings right now, although I've yet to seriously sit down with Chocobo's Dungeon.

On topic, yes I'm excited! It sounds like such a fresh spin on a variety of genres. Hope it sells well.

KitN comes from Sting's top dev team and should be more polished, but I expect most reviewers won't explain it well.

It'll probably get the same treatment that The World Ends With You got. It should have been a 10 on everyone's scale, but some people were put off by the cool mechanics like dual-screen combat, which they just couldn't handle, and counted it against the game.

This is, from what I understand, going to be some freak fusion of Yggdra Union and Touhou, and I can't say I'm displeased at all. I am absolutely preordering even if nothing at all were to come with it; a soundtrack and artbook are just delicious additions to what will already be awesome.

I still play Baroque. Love the Shigeki soundtrack. And I think Nintendo Power was full of s**t on that game. And now Atlus won't give us a translated "Baroque Syndrome" (available on CELLPHONES in Japan, the lucky people).

Anyway, I have my preorder down for this. Pray Atlus doesn't announce ANOTHER Sting game anytime soon (Dokapon Journey doesn't count).

This is a great game, it's one of those rare cases where a relatively new idea works without fault.

I don't like it as much as The World Ends With You, but it's in the same category of innovation without sacrificing fun or length.

Okay, I've pre-ordered it. Now, does that video show all that happens in the game, or is there other stuff? I'm guessing there's no real exploration, so how do fights come about? Is it kind of like Luminous Arc where you travel from place to place and then fight, or is there just some dialogue, then a fight, then some dialogue, then another fight? Or is it something totally different? I'm digging it, I'm just not exactly sure what I'm digging...is there a lengthier video out there that shows off more?

Groovy. Seriously, I dig everything I see, especially since I've never seen it done before. I'll keep checking the website. Also, with all the mentions of Riviera and Yggdra Union, are they part of the overall story of this game? I've been meaning to pick them up, now I guess I gotta get of my tuchus and do it!

June needs to hurry up.

By the time I get done with the summer release I imagine it will be something like this....

/fast forward to December 25th at 10:06 am at my house...

"Wow Dad we got so many presents but something wrong... "

"What's wrong guys?"

"Well you only got like 3 presents from Santa. Where you bad this year?"

"Umm no. Well you see..."

/looks over at his stack of DS games....

"Santa only had to get me a few this year because I didn't ask for much..."

/wife pinches me in the ass and I jump....

"No actually he was very bad...."

Just a question for those familiar with the game: is is necessary to have played the previous two games, story wise, or is the game more or less standalone?
I wanted to buy Riviera (the GBA version), but delayed picking it up and then I couldn't find any online stores that had the game. I ended up not playing Yggdra Union because I hadn't played Riviera (:)), but I want to give the new game a try.

I hate playing sequels without playing the previous games, but since it's so hard to find the previous GBA games, I guess I really have no choice...

Excitement with WISP flying, dodging, collecting, and reanimating sooouuulls! Exciting colors flashing, blinking, and spinning like a bad website from 1998! Exciting action, strategy, and tutorials to explain the excitement which cannot be contained! Excited reviewers who will fail to impress upon the average gamer how awesome the game is because the game is too awesome and exciting for the average gamer!

Decept

agreed on the tail end of that excitement^

Also, I am EXCITED (sorry for the caps, I am just so excited) for this to come out! With all these great games coming out, it is going to be hard to find time, but I plan on putting off all games until I fully enjoy this one. I am even ignoring Devil Survivor (cause I already know I will throw a ridiculous amount of hours at that one, too) until possibly after a replay through KitN!

The intimidating gameplay intrigues me and I can't wait to play it!

From the main menu you can choose Tutorial which has an in-game tutorial and text tutorials and tips for the game. You can start the game without looking at any of the 3 tutorial sections if you'd like.

yea I'm definetly exited for this one.
Love all of Atlus' games.
I actually found out about this game quite some time ago when it was released in japan and I picked up a copy of the japanese game.
took me an hour to beat the first level lol because I don't know a single word in japanese but luckily most everything in the game was already english besides the story line and item names and the tut.
I played it constantly and maxxed out a few chars and items and finally beat the entire game and started a playthorugh on hard with a new game+ mode
I give this game a 9.5/10

only downside of the game is your items dont carry over in new game + so u have to start back at level 1 items for your level 70's
