Greetings to you all! I am a (fairly) long time Atlus fan but I've been hesitant to join the forums due to my limited internet access, so I won't be able to keep up on conversations very well. I originally intended to join in order to assist in the begging for Devil Summoner 2 by offering lap dances to the Atlus staff, but there's no need for that now.
The SMT games are the main reason I adore Atlus but they've released quite a few "odd" titles I'd never expect like Rule of Rose that just made me love them even more.
When I'm not playing video games I'm dietary aide at a hospital or taking college classes (I'm going for a degree in game design!). That's really about it since working takes up all of my time, but I try to go to ceramic classes.
Since I'm not trying to sell any of my pieces I hope it's OK to show a recent one I did: http://www.geocities.com/i_luv_ceramics/harmony.jpg
Umm... I guess that's really it. You all seem like fun people and if you'll accept me into the Atlus community I'll be beary grateful.

Welcome. How do like working at the hospital? I have to admit, I'm not very familiar with what a dietary aide actually does. Would you mind explaining?

Oh, dear, I hope this doesn't turn into a rant...
Basically all dietary aides applied for the position due the fact the pay and benefits are amazing for a job that doesn't require experience or a college degree, not because they actually enjoy preparing meals for patients. I only work three positions and they all involve setting trays, taking up late trays, doing specific chores (many that are cleaning related), getting tallies and doing dishes.
I usually don't mind doing dishes but the possibly over fifty years old dish machine (it was used when they got it) is on its' last leg and it's two months before we finally get a new one. Our current one is so bad that it leaks all over the floor, many of its' functions don't work so the dishes come out sometimes still dirty and always soaking wet, plus we need to tape the on button to keep the damn thing running.
It's usually quite an easy job, but it can be a living hell if the count is high and the cook who's serving is slow. Picky patients are also a pain. Recently we had a lady who thinks she can taste plastic so we had to put everything in china dishes (including her tiny bit of butter!). However, drinks still need a lid, so we'd put a plastic cover over the cup, take that tray out of the cart that goes up to the nurses station, and then remove it before it goes to her room.
Oh, my favorite complaint was from some cow in OB who wanted a whole new tray because she hates broccoli and it was touching her other food.
The #10 position had the honor of polishing our new carts every night. We used to have these orange carts we'd simply spray out but now we have these massive stainless steel carts that are more trouble than they're worth. Polishing them takes forever and it's frustrating when you get far behind doing it if the nurses are being slow at putting the dirty trays in the carts.
We cannot go into patient rooms, so we have to wait for the nurses to take care of it and push the carts to the end of the hallway when finished (which they don't always do. Ugh.).
After working there I'm scared of ever becoming a patient because the nurses are so dumb. Two days ago one called down saying a patient wanted beer which, of course, we don't have and certainly weren't going to go out and buy.
Ehehe, I think I'm going to shut up now and I hope what I said made sense. Expect other stories from me in the future.

Bah, no need for guilt. My dark sense of humor is sometimes the only thing that gets me through the day. Spending that much time in a hospital environment is tough on people. Chin up, and remember that at least at some point you'll get out and on to bigger, better things! :)

Dear Elizabeth,
Why don't you like the Wii?!?! I though chicks went crazy over it... even my neighbor&friend loves to stop by for some insane matches of Wii Sports:)
The controller was a major put-off. After I come tired from a hard day's work I don't have the energy to be moving my arms around just to play a video game (our new carts are really heavy to push at work and I get worn out trying to wash dishes at warp speed so I can get done on time).
Also, I enjoy odd games, music games, fighting games, and RPGs, which the Wii is really lacking in. I've scanned over a release list at Game Stop and really the only game I'm slightly interested in playing is the one where you play as chicks in bikinis fighting zombies.
I used to think Microsoft was the worst game company around but there's starting to be a surprisingly high number of games that I'm eager to play. I finally got a chance to play Beautiful Katamari last night and had a blast. It seems harder than the two PS2 releases but I love the King of All Cosmos even more in this installment. ...I had to take a break from Rumble Roses. I was just fine until I unlocked Mistress and started to feel like a pervert.

Well, to be exact there are a few games that don't exactly need the wiimote's control. There's Brawl and Mario Bike Wii(I call it Bike because no one uses Karts anymore) that you can use the GC Controller with. There's also Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World which really only needs you to move the wiimote so you can use the "Sorcerer's Ring" or whatever. Basically it.
If you enjoy music games I really suggest getting DJ Max Fever. I really want to play it... but no PSP. ;_;
Other then that, nice major. I'm majoring on Graphic Design right now. :) I might decide to double major on Business, but I'm a bit indecisive.
Welcome, would enjoy talking to you more once you get more internet access in. Sort of new myself.

Well, I don't like any of those games. I really liked the first SSB, but after that the series has lost it's appeal for me. I know Mario Kart is super popular, but the only racing game I ever enjoyed was Wacky Races for the Dream Cast; no one can beat me when I use Pat Pending.

I should clarify: I like music games with a story.

Ha ha, I don't like Brawl or MBWii either, just suggesting them. I can barely tolerate playing them now so I mainly just play Melee or the N64 in my cousin's room. I never really got the chance to play Wacky Racing... To be exact I never heard of it. xD Ever played Diddy Kong Racing for the N64?
Music games with story? WHEN WAS THIS?! Name some games. :<

I never really got the chance to play Wacky Racing... To be exact I never heard of it.
It was released for the Dream Cast in the US and for the PS2 in Europe (I'm so jealous). It's based after the fairly popular Hanna Barbera cartoon, which I absolutely loved. Google Dick Dastardly in the images section and you might remember the show if you ever saw it.
Ever played Diddy Kong Racing for the N64?.
Yup. Great game but I sucked at it.
Music games with story? WHEN WAS THIS?! Name some games. :<
Of those that I remember:
1. Space Channel 5 (Dream Cast, PS2)
2. Gitaroo Man (PS2 and PSP)
3. Ouendan 1 and 2 (DS, Japan only)
4. Elite Beat Agents (DS, but I don't suggest buying it)
5. Princess Debut (DS, but more of a dating simulator)
6. Mad Maestro! (PS2)
7. Unison (PS2, one of the worst games ever)
8. Parappa the Rapper (PS1, PSP)
9. Parappa the Rapper 2 (PS2)
10. Um Jammer Lammy (PS2)
11. Samba De Amigo (Dream Cast, Wii)
I'm drawing a blank but I'm sure I've played more.

Ah, that would explain why I never heard of it. I never did get the chance to buy a Dream Cast, they're so lucky to have it on the PS2. I would have played it, for sure. Although, the show I certainly do remember. Funny stuff.
You're not the only one. It took me ages to do the mirror campaign. I used Pipsy(or whatever the rat's name was) a lot. Although, you gotta admit, battling on "Icicle Pyramid" was loads of fun with friends.
Only games I've heard of out of that list are Elite Beat Agents(I never knew that even had story), and both of the Parappa the Rapper games. I've wanted to buy the second one for a while now, but so many failed attempts of looking for it made me completely forget about it. xD

I got lucky. A video place near me went out of business and I bought a second copy of Nocturne for $2.25. I can never remember the name, but there's a game place in the middle of the mall who gave me $80 store credit for it so I got my Dream Cast, six games, and a memory card from them and didn't have to pay a thing. *sigh* I'm still hunting for a copy of Seaman, though. I want to talk to a fish!

I only rented it once so I don't really remember the levels too well. Conker was always my guy, though; it's funny to hear his voice in that game and compare it to BFD.

Well, during the levels you see a little mini-story unfold; it's nothing major. It's weird how hard to find that game has gotten! It's pretty bad compared to the first one, though, so you're not missing out.
Yeah, I like weird stuff so I'm not surprised you haven't heard of the others. Princess Debut is quite possibly the most disturbing E rated game I've ever played; some of the princes are pretty messed up and creepy.

My goodness, I've only been here a short time and I'm already kicking myself for not joining earlier! Everyone is so kind and the discussions posted are very interesting to read and/or join in on.
I wasted my time before with GameFAQs, which is infested with jerks who shout "Weaboo!" every five seconds. The Megten boards are just terrible! I once got into an argument with a fool who insisted that the "all wet" line in Devil Summoner was a sexual reference and not another way to say someone was "full of it", and one person even posted on the Persona 4 forums that they wanted to know if they could get by without fusing Satan or Lucifer since they were Christian and didn't want to do so. I thought Christians were so against homosexuality so I don't understand why he was OK with the steamy bathhouse level.
Umm... Anyways, you're all awesome and I always look forward to Tuesdays when I can log on and visit with you all!
What? Thats stupid!
I hope you like it better here!

Man, I remember a few years back when I joined the GameFAQs boards and left in about two hours. I saw people getting rude answers to heartfelt questions, mockeries in blatantly serious threads, people hopping into game threads to call people idiots for liking that game/series, the aforementioned "weeaboo" comments, and a bunch of other nonsense. Seeing what you're saying about them, I understand why you didn't stick around; it's also somewhat sad to know that the place is still like that.

Dayum, that's even worse then what I've been through. Seriously, I've been in a chat room for a while now. Put short, it's just a bunch of angry teenagers always attacking each other over the game "Super Smash Bros. Brawl".
When they win they go "rofl n00b u suk sell brawl" or something along those lines. They're literally part of my reason for selling the cursed game. That, and it's too slow for my blood. I prefer Touhou: IaMP. Although, it is fun to own them with my logic. =)
Ha ha, so glad I finally decided to become active here as well. Everyone is so awesome.
Anyway...

Icicle Pyramid is that ice stage you can have 4 player battles on. I think it's on the DS version as well, but only on WiFi. Conker was pretty fun to use. So was, erm... Banjo(I think that was his name...), but he was really slow. I forgot how you were able to get him.
It's weird how hard to find that game has gotten! It's pretty bad compared to the first one, though, so you're not missing out.
So I've heard. Although, the songs looked pretty fun to play based on videos I've watched. Ah well, I've seen the PSP one in GameStop lately, so I guess it's best I go for that.

XD I was hoping it would have that affect, but my odd sense of humor tends to come off as being stupid usually instead of funny.
When it was posted that Atlus is going to be releasing Persona for the PSP I wanted to say "Atlus, if you were a telethon I'd do you in front of a bunch of sick children!" but I wasn't sure how well that would go over.

Elizabeth, you should play Escape from Bug Island on the Wii and tell me how comparable it is to Illbleed feel-wise.
I've played EfBI, but I haven't had the fortune of playing Illbleed yet and I hear they are similar in the overall feel.
Elizabeth
03-03-2009, 12:11 PM
^ Haven't heard of that one, I'll have to rent it.
IllBleed is ****ing hard, even just getting past the first level. If you get attacked and can't defeat a monster you can call the helecopter to come save you but the controls for it are really clunky. The traps are also randomly generated, so it's really easy to run out of the number of times you can mark an area; I usually end up dying from bleeding to death. The dark sense of humor is really great and I have to say, considering it's age, the Dream Cast is still the system that's impressed me the most.
...I heard that in the Japanese version of the game, after you beat it, there's an option you can pick where Eriko loses pieces of her clothing every time she gets hit by a trap. Normally I'm against censorship of games but I'm not missing that feature.
Delition
03-03-2009, 12:17 PM
It's supposedly in the U.S. version as well, but it isn't every time you get hit by a trap.

Welcome! I'm new here too, but I'm not interesting enough to post an intro thread.
I think the Wii has a fair number of good games, but they're generally the ones that don't involve arm-flailing. Not sure if that would be true based on the favorite games you listed though.
GameFAQs is typically terrible, but sometimes good if you need specific info on something. I've found it completely useless for holding a sustained or intelligent conversation. (and both is simply out of the question.)
Oh, and to top it off with something obnoxious, do you offer lapdances for anything other than SMT game requests?
