larger avatars dimensions

Maybe it's just me, and my monitors resolution is so high but the current limit on the avatars being 100 x 150 seem pretty small. Looking at others their avatar is about the size of my pinky on my screen.

Personally I'd like to see the size increased to 200 x 200. This way I can better see the avatars. If 200 x 200 is too much, then maybe 175 x 175 at least?

Anyway, I'm not particularly against this idea. If someone has a problem loading the page because of the images, they can simply turn avatars off (along with signatures). Increasing it to 200 x 200 seems reasonable, but the current file size is more than enough.

I think the reason why most have such large sigs is because if they were avatars you couldn't see enough detail. 100 x 150 is very small on my screen, I don't even know what half of the people here have as an avatar without zooming in.

I can understand what you are attempting to get at here, but at the same time I don't think the two are necessarily related. I have seen a ton of garish / ridiculous sigs that have absolutely nothing in common with the user's avatar.

A larger avatar size isn't going to affect much, because it's on the side of your post. Whereas large Sigs can require more scrolling. Like I said before, I feel that the reason why there are large sigs here is because if these sigs were reduced in size, it would lose too much of what makes them attractive.

For example, I checked the dimension of my sig, and that of the box on the left that contains everyones avatar. If my sig were placed in there, that box would not (it shouldn't) increase in size.
