Everybody has a great voice, so it doesn't really matter! We're all special in our own unique ways.

I love you Zeta-Nova! :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Judging by the videos I've seen on this game so far, I'm going to have a very hard time taking this game seriously. Not that it's at all a bad thing, but I'm hoping whatever cast and crew is involved with the dub doesn't overham it up.

Are you kidding? The original Japanese hams it up like a Honeybaked factory!

I still would like KOS-MOS's VA to retain her role and Onion why is your Raiho unhappy?

Which is one of the things that bothers me about japanese voiced productions. Ah well...

I keep hearing this game is fun, so I hope the dub is fun, too.

Well, ATLUS hammered it on the nail when they did P3/P3: FES. Half of FUNimation's actors did the game. Add in Bandai related animes as well. And their dub was suprisingly good.

Maybe they'll do the same with this game as well.

I loved the dubs for P3/P3:FES and P4. Didn't know that Funi's VAs were involved, though.

Yes, Vic Mignogna (a FUNimation/ADV Films actor) played Junpei Iori. The rest were made of Bandai Entertainment/Viz Media actors;

Yuri Lowenthal
Michelle Ruff etc...

Well that's good news. I've been out of touch with the dubbing scene for a while now, so I only know of a few names nowadays. I just play what I like! :D

Also, if I remember correctly. There were some familiar actors that were in Spectral Force 3. Namely Kirk Thornton as Cassius.

But this game's cast should be no different. If it's also gonna have these kind of experienced anime voice actors. Well atleast Atlus makes that lackluster developer; Q3 Entertainment that had Chaos Wars, seem like a joke. Pfft, having the CEO's family voice act for a game. What were they thinking?

I'll expect it'll at least be decent. So I'll just chime in with the others wanting Bridget Hoffman back as KOS-MOS.

To be honest. They're getting better. Heh, well at least more better than how Q3 Entertainment treated Chaos Wars. It was just blatant garbage.

I second that yo :D. I wouldn't want some other VA to replace her Xenosaga actor. And also T-elos' VA as well of XS Episode III. Even though there may be other credible actors.

Yeah, Bridget Hoffman did both KOS-MOS in Ep I and III, and T-elos in Ep III.

I really hope ATLUS decided to use her, unless they kept the JP voices heh.

I'm surprised their press release didn't mention anything about an English dub...

TheMagicHat

Why? They almost never do mention anything about voice work far as I know.

This reminds me...

The original version had VA jokes >
I wonder how those are going to be implemented...or I guess they'll be taken out completely...>

Well, if you played Luminous Arc, Luminous Arc 2 or many other Atlus RPG games. You'd notice that Atlus doesn't censor their games. Which it would be frowned upon gamers.

They try to keep everything intact.

Somehow obtain the money to get the voice cast from Mass Effect or KOTOR 2 and convince them that VO for a handheld game would be worth it.

In all seriousness neither of those casts would fit, but from what I have seen from this game it is perplexing how you would cast it and end up with something that would be decent

Zeta_Nova

lol 'Course not yo. All of Atlus' RPGs have had nothing but anime VOs. OG Saga would be no different.

Well if they're not sticking with jpn.... I'd say some how bring back the original VAs and Kos-Mos and T-elos.

As far as the other characters.... hard to say... I just hope the folks can do the character's personalities well. (And for the love of god, keep Tear's english VA away from Kaguya; she'd just ruin her)

Zeta_Nova

Well, Strider. Hate to break it to you. But RPG games like these, when they head to the U.S do not include japanese voice overs.

There were options of japanese voice over tracks in P3, P4, Eternal Poison etc... So I wouldn't get your hopes up of the game having dual voice track.

StriderTuna

Still too soo to tell either way.... if they dubbed both Izuna games, I'd be inclined to think this would be dubbed too, but things could go either way....

In my opinion, this sounds good:

Haken Browning: Yuri Lowenthal
Kaguya Nanbu: Kate Higgins
KOS-MOS: Bridget Hoffman

and...

David Lodge
Jessica Straus
Johnny Yong Bosch
Karen Strassman
Laura Bailey
Liam O'Brien
Mary Elizabeth McGlynn
Tara Platt

Is it strange that I've always thought of Mary McGlynn's voice when reading Lamia's line in OG2. Is it even stranger that I think she'd be a good match for Aschen (who, from what I understand, is based on Lamia)?

Question is does she have the range needed to do Aschen? Since she does have two voices: The Genki one (Hiyori from Lucky Star sounds like it since she has Lamia's seiyu) in addition to her Lamia voice.

KOS-MOS and t-elos VA's from xenosaga 3 is a must for me.

Yeah, they did a pretty good job in Episode III. Still, I trust Atlus because they tend to pick credible VAs for their jRPGs.

Unlike Q3 Entertainment where it ruined Chaos Wars.

Same here, Atlus has a good track record when it comes to VAs. Both persona 3 and 4 did a pretty good job. Heck even the few voiced moments in Eternal Punishment was done pretty good as well.

DOES this game have english voice acting in it? I just watched videos from the offical site, and I they were all in the original Japanese voices.

Tatsuya Suou

You know at first I was going to say that the web site isn't up yet but it seems like they just officially opened up today. As I see in the character guide with the sample videos, it dose seem that the game might not have English voices.

I myself have been a supporting this one way or another and it is sad that it might not have a dub in it. But I don't want to rule it out just yet, because as we discussed in another thread is that although it has the Japanese’s voices in it the one thing it's lacking is subtitles for the voices mostly the before and after battle scenes. Now I hope that if it doesn’t have a dub than there is an option for subbed in the battle dialogs or that there is a dub and they haven't shown it yet.

Also this may be to late to make suggestions on ideal voices but just to get it out of the way; I would like if Luci Christian or Bridget Hoffman to voice KOS-MOS/t-elos. And as far as the main cast only two I could think of is Haken Browning to be dubbed by Michael Sinterniklaas and Suzuka-Hime to be dubbed by Kelly Manison.

This may be the last post in this thread due to the game is now out and there is confirmation on it being Japanese’s only. I want to do something interesting; I don’t know if others do this, but when there is a RPG game with no voices or are in Japanese I have a habit of giving my characters voices that play in my head. (I know, I'm a little insane) I use voices I can remember from games and anime and here it in my head as I read text in a game. (I’m currently doing that for Phoenix Wright: trials and tribulations) For this game I have been using the flowing for the voices.

For Haken Browning I originally was going to use Michael Sinterniklaas but now I have him sounding like Gambit without the accent. (I’m sorry I keep bringing it up but I got X-men on the mind lately after getting the much waited 90s series DVD) But by default it would end up being Mikes VA that I would use. For everyone’s favorite “cowgirl” Kaguya Nanbu, I have yet to find a good voice for her yet. But I am thinking that Michelle Ruff would fit the roll best. She is already well known by atlus and has already done many well-endowed anime voices before. (Yoko from Gurren Lagann and Carmen99 from GunXSword I can think of) For Suzuka, oni princess, I am using Kelly Manison to do the roll. I wasn’t sure at first but with her mature sounding voice and her laugh, I feel that the VA of “Naga the serpent” would perfect for her. For Reiji and Xiaomu I chose the VA’s of Steven Blum and Cynthia Martinez. I chose Cynthia mostly for her roll as Lina Inverse. I know that Blum is impossibility these days due to the whole union thing so the two substitutes I would pick would be Dave Wittenberg and Kyle Hebert; either would work fine. KOS-MOS/Telos would be the one for the game, Bridget Hoffman and last is Aschen both normal and “party time :D” mode would be done by Luci Christian.

Some villains I can think of in my head is the following: koma the cat merchant’s VA is Selece Zahn, Anne Sirena the pirate mermaid VA is Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, Kyon Feulion the little witch of Orchestral Army VA is Stephanie Sheh, Cardia Basirissa: codename W06 VA is Luci Christian, Katze Kotolnos, the FABULOUS catman VA is Steven Blum(using Leeron’s voice from Gurren Lagann), Saya, NXC’ nemesis VA is Wendee Lee and T-elos VA as I said above is Bridget Hoffman.

So this is what I fell would be the Ideal voice cast if of course the game was voiced in English. This is just my thoughts and what I use when I play the game, if atlus did dubbed it that I would have like this cast, but it cool. I am fine with what I got and I’m sure you would be too.
