I just got word from Kotaku.com that game retailers are going to start stocking less games now. I shudder at the thought since now Atlus games may become rare even quicker.

Completely offtopic so moderate me to hell PLZ but this opening sentence...

Not sure if you've heard, but the economy is #### and everybody's losing their jobs

so fng true. my RRSP took a 32.3% dive. I have lost so much money (talking multiple Gs) in the past couple weeks.

Atlus can I invest in you guys? Why don't you go public already!!!

Lies!

I only ever pre-order Atlus games, and they are the only games I'd worry about not getting because of this news, so I guess in the end, no problem for me.

Personally I've been considering that from now on, SMT titles I get will probably be ordered through Amazon, since they usually get some kind of special bonus with theirs, not to mention that Gamestop usually "forgets" about pre-order bonuses and stuff.

Plus I heard something that if you pre-order with them, you'll get the game on the day it releases (free overnight shipping ftw?), which I haven't known and usually thought it'd be a few days afterwards since it's being shipped.

I just gotta find out if they charge you once they are ready to ship or once you put down the pre-order.

Anyways, after discovering recently how much of a pain in the butt it is to find SMT titles, I'll for sure be pre-ordering in the future.

I didn't...

But, really, does it matter? It came in safe and sound, with all the extras. :D Yeah, I pretty much preorder everything I get from Atlus, especially MegaTen, from Amazon. Hell, I got all of the older MegaTens I have from Amazon...

Internet commerce is truly a beautiful thing.

=P Well at least they'll be worth a lot of money if we ever intend to sell them.

Hmm interesting, well at least you got the extras. Most times gamestop (as they are the only ones that carry SMT games around here), won't even get the pre-order bonuses. Since Atlus actually has nice bonuses, that's a big deal for me.

It's not like this effects me in any way since I pre-order all Atlus and NiS games anyway. Well...most of them. I'm not going to lie. :D

I haven't seen very many copies of some games I bought in the last year so I'm not sure if this has taken effect already or not.

It's pretty sad that I've got all of the Atlus titles I can pre-ordered through GameStop (My World wasn't available), but the only other game I've got one on is RE5.

Crap, man. Sorry to hear that.

As far as going public, we already are, but in Japan. Maybe you should buy stock in the parent company, and then be part of the shareholder's conferences and make game localization suggestions. :)

OK everyone now that SMT: DS2 has been announced in limited quantities now. It is now mandatory to pre-order. I'm ordering mine from amazon.com whenever the listing shows up. pre-order or suffer from the lack of a Raiho plushie while everyone else rubs it in.

^ I was joking. I've never bought stock in a Japanese company. But I know that for most US companies, they hold their shareholder meetings somewhere like the Bahamas so you can't possibly get there and disrupt the meeting.

My friend who works at Ubisoft saw his stocks take a 40% plunge in the past 4 months. Of course they make #### games (IMHO, with the occasional good import like NMH and Wartech) so that's to be expected.

Still, I'd invest in Atlus JPN if given the chance, but my options are rather limited and I'm not exactly a "shark".

CONFIRMED:

Atlus USA has announced that SHIN MEGAMI TENSEI: DEVIL SUMMONER 2: RAIDOU KUZUNOHA vs. KING ABADDON for the Playstation 2 is having such a extremely limited run, that only 25 prints will be made. This is believed due to the fact that retailers are now stocking less games.

Even though I live in Canada, the same thing might happen here. It won't affect me that much. I usually preorder NISA published games at EB Games since they usually aren't available elsewhere (besides online).

I think it has more to do with the current economic climate and concern that there will be less spending games.

Well the upfront $5-$10 IS pretty annoying.

But seriously, if you want a game, pre-order it. And write down what you want to pick up somewhere. The game industry's so huge right now that there are probably 10 games you were interested in that got released and you don't even know about it.

I know there's a bunch of PC stuff I was really psyched about, and I can't remember what the game was called for the life of me...
