Am I the only one who thinks that Fuuka's Voice is so annoying?

I doubt it. I too think Fuuka's voice is poorly done. Her comments during battle is pretty irritating too. And is it just me, or does her voice change high and low pitched at random times? Man, her voice is partly the reason why I want to play the Japanese version. Fuuka's Japanese voice, now that's cute.

I'd say it's sometimes annoying, her voice in battle is kinda monotone, however i think most of her non battle voices are fairly well done.

When something has already become a meme, the chances are, it's pretty bad.

The idea of anyone talking throughout your battle is a horrible, God-awful idea. Especially since you can't shut them up or turn them off. Hence, I hate Teddie.

I find Mitsuru Kirijo to be more annoying than Fuuka imo. Mitsuru sounds way too much of a nerd, even if she's suppose to be all smart and stuff.

Definitely. I noticed her voicing Nodoka from Negima as well. I didn't know that she's a quiet person in general.

Also, if you hear Fuuka's Japanese voice, you'll understand why Junpei said her voice was soothing.

Yeah it was a bit annoying when you kept getting enemies weaknesses...I can think of worse VA though...every heard of Chaos Wars? *shudder*

Teddie & Nanako's voices in Persona 4 were quite gyrating as well. o/~ EVERYTHING'S GREAT AT YOUR JUNES ~~~~

Oh I loathed her battle commentary. Part of it is that visually, I found Fuuka's appearances jarringly unnatural. So I would've needed some really good voice acting to get me back to a good level of suspension of disbelief, which of course didn't happen.

I didn't find any voices that annyoing at first, but after Fuuka says "*gasp* The Enemy!!" for the 26.000th time, I could just take a flame thrower and burn her alive, I swear o.o

Fuuka's voice wasn't that annoying to me outside of battle, but that's mostly because I knew several girls in highschool who sounded JUST like her. But her battle comments really got on my nerves after a while.

All this Fuuka and Teddie hate when it should really be directed at Ken Amada. He was so annoying I kept him out of my party in both The Journey and The Answer.

Fuuka was a shy person who had to grow into having more friends than she was used to, so I thought the voice was spot-on. Teddie was supposed to be over-the-top and look like a mascot, so again, the voice refects that. Mitsuru was technically the leader and head of S.E.E.S, so she needed a mature sound. She was a bit odd in her "Oracle" role, though.

Ken was just plain overacted on anything that wasn't a serious line. "Yes, yes, yesss! My skill level has increased." That's what put him out of my party for good.

Well, I think that many of the voices in P3 were not very well dubbed, and, apart from Aigis, none were *that* incredible and memorable.
Persona 4 just in general had better localization (woah, did I really just say that?) and it just felt natural.
Teddie's voice was... tiring after long periods of exposure, but it's alright.
Yukiko's I kind of didn't enjoy at points...
Hanako's was blatantly, obnoxiously, head-crushingly awful - it went beyond hatred of the character to make you hate the people who let that crap in the final version of the game...
Chie's, Kanji's, Yosuke's, Dojima's, etc. felt all very natural, though.

...and then there's Naoto, who I could listen to for days on end because it is so soothing. I would buy soundtracks of Naoto's voice.

The only voices in P3 that I didn't like were Fuuka's and Ken's (to a certain degree).

Also, when the VA's in P3 used Japanese honorifics, it felt so unnatural, but it was the exact opposite in P4.

Just got the game and was considering taking it back till I found out I could turn off the voices to an extent. I started playing and was immediately reminded of the 90's when everyone was pretty much terrible, but Junpei's voice doesn't seem too bad so far.

I wonder why people dislikes Ken's voice so much... I didn't have any problem with his voice, I think it's.. okay? But I agree when it comes to Fuuka's voice... Just inconsistent, sometimes high, sometimes low...

Going back to play The Answer now, Fuuka's voice isn't as annoying as I remembered it, but it's depressingly impersonal. I always wonder if she really cares if I might die or not at the beginning of the battle (sure she cares when I do die, but fat lot of good that does for me ). Rise and Teddie both seem to actually give a damn about my well-being.

(As an aside, playing P3 now with no direct control on my party is really challenging after P4, though it's an enjoyable challenge.)

Really? I just thought thats it's way too different than the Japanese version, more over, I'd say that Teddie's voice is good, but it only suits him with his bear suit... His voice didn't really suit him in his human mode... He looks like a bishounen, but his voice is too "heavy"... But I think all Persona's character's cast was good in overall...

Kuma's on the other hand doesn't work in his human form in my opinion (especially since he still says "-kuma" out of his suit. x_x).

Personally I felt Fuuka's voice was spot on and pretty much summed up her personality. Shy yet determined. The pitch changes in her voice might seem weird but make sense when you consider that she is probably used to speaking in more of a hushed tone. Like a previous poster mentioned I remember a few girls in High School who talked liked her in a similar way.

Also to be fair at some point I got a little irritated with all the character commentaries during battle regardless of who it was (i.e. Fuuka, Teddie, or Rise).

I personally found Yukari to be the most annoying Persona 3 chick, but that had less to do with her voice and more to do with her personality, which is the antithesis of what's she's described to be.

Heck, Mitsuru gets stuck with the Ice Queen motif and she's a much warmer personality, just a little distant and authoritative at the start.

Fuuka I never had problems with. Sure she got repetitive for battles, but I liked her voice in the other scenes she had. Not as much as Mitsuru's, but about as much as Aigis.

If you read the artbook, Soejima talks about Yukari's popularity waxing and waning in the team because of her dialogue. So, I guess the Persona team didn't even like Yukari! "Man, this girl is so annoying! Why did we put her in this game?"

I actually don't mind Yukari. Her voice makes sense to her personality. My favorite female voiced character is definitely Mitsuru, though. I have a hard time choosing between Akihiko and Junpei, they're both very good.

Your not alone ;_; she wasn't as encouraging as Rise IMO, especially her need to repeat the exact same thing sometimes D: The repeating things and her gasps were what really annoyed me overall.

Yeah it says that everyone likes her and her positive attitude in the game book. But she didnt seem very positive to me just more like a bitch. And i also agree with you about fuukas voice although i did not like her and yeah she got annoying in battle her voice fit her. Although i did like it when she said "I want to protect you." LOL. Ken was annoying and I hated using him in battle cause he just spammed hamaon. Teddies voice didnt piss me off just his damn footsteps in the dungeon.i really liked mitsurus voice. They should have given Yuko a persona i loved that girl for some reason.

I never really liked Fuuka, she's just weird, her.. uhh avatar? Sometimes makes weird poses..

Her distorted voice is much better, they should have used it in battle. It actually makes sense, since her voice is like that whenever she uses her Persona, and I'm guessing she uses her Persona during combat as well..

Aigis' voice bothered me most.. All the other voice actors were great tbh.
Aigis's voice actor isn't bad, though, I've heard her in other games, and there she sounded much better.. It's just in P3.. it's just awful.. I thought it was a robot thing at first, but Metis didn't have that same annoying thing and sounded perfectly human.

I loved Chihiro's voice in P4.
I'm not sure if she has a voice actor anywhere in P3.. But since she's a P3 character, I thought I'd point it out anyway.

Amazed at how little perception people had regarding Aigis. She starts out cold and robotic because she's a weapon that's stored away. She does appear to have been someone else at a point before her mind was joined with the body, so emotion is something she has to grow into.

And over the course of the story, her voice acclimates to being more emotive.

Think of it like Commander Data from Star Trek: TNG. Over the course of the series, even before the emotion chip was put in him for the movies, he sometimes had the chance to have the most humanity of all the people around him. Also the most innocence.

I see Aigis the same way, though I think there are plenty of mysteries left regarding her that need to be addressed.

I actually picked up on that and appreciated them taking the time to slowly build and grow on that concept. The only problem I had with Aigis was that the voice acting for FES for her wasn't as quite the same, but more importantly, the actual recording quality seemed to be different. I noticed considerable more hiss and fuzz to the voices all around, but especially for her. It's easily ignored I guess, but all in all made the FES expansion feel even more slapped on.

Oh my, so much dislike O.o

I'll say now I have a bit *coughs*okay, a lot*coughs* of a Japanese bias and tend to favour hearing things in that language than English (of course I need English subs 'cause I'm such a phony >_>) but I have to say I didn't dislike the voice actors in Persona 3.

None of them stood out to me to be considered horribly bad, so I was able to enjoy the game with their talking no problem.

Fuuka's occasional interjections in battle didn't annoy me, and I appreciated Aigis' robotic voice since she's, you know, a robot xD

Mitsuru's one of my fave characters, and her voice definitely made her all the more appealing to me.

Kenji

Fuuka's voice wasn't bad... as far as the actual voice goes, she's pretty much perfect. However, I would say she gives one of the weaker performances of the P3 cast, especially at the beginning of The Answer.

That said, the dub job of P3 was really good and I'm pretty satisfied with it. P4's dub was even better, more natural. Each of the liberties they took in straying from the tone or tics of the Japanese version were good choices (like Chie or Teddie). I gotta say that the voice acting in video games has been getting pretty strong, recently.

I gotta say that the voice acting in video games has been getting pretty strong, recently.Agreed. Valkyria Chronicles's voice acting was pretty damn good as well, even in the downloadable content. Dave Wittenburg and Laura Bailey, who voices Teddie and Rise in Persona 4 respectively, voice characters in Valkyria Chronicles too. ;)

Even Phantasy Star Portable has pretty great voice work. It's quite surprising considering how bad Phantasy Star Universe's voice work was. The voice quality difference in the two games is especially noticable with characters like Ethan Waber. Tonnio still sounds annoying though, ha ha.

Yup, Final Fantasy has come a long way since "HA HA HA HA," too.

Even Resident Evil, (in)famous for sandwiches and masters of unlocking, has reached this awkward stage where the voice talent is actually rather good, but the scripts they're fed are abominable. :D
