I've never played SMT Imagine yet I am wondering several things about it.
1. Is the userbase polite, usually speaking?
2. Is there much to do besides slay monsters and might one advance without?
3. Is there any a thing like making allies with NPC and advancing factional agenda?
4. Might one have ones own skyscraper, as per other games one has ones own castle, and defend against demonic sieges or even breed demons in an underground labyrinth aneath ones skyscraper?
5. Do we get to meet Jack Frost or a collection of teenagers who carry evokers?

1. They are alright.
2. Not really, but there's a handful of quests and stuff you can do
3. Dunno
4. Don't think so
5. You can befriend a Jack Frost in the game. And no this isn't a Persona game, it takes place in between SMT and SMTII.

Yes you do see a bunch of jack frosts around but, no there are no evokers (if you're talking about what i think you're talking about.)
Killing monsters is the only way to advance through the game (unless you party up and have other people kill monsters for you).
You can't really make friends with npc's
sorry have no idea about skyscrapers

If players could have their own skyscraper, it'd sorta defeat the purpose of there being a Shinjuku Babel...

Since there's no PVP, there's a pretty big focus on working with others. You'll almost always find someone willing to help out with a quest, dungeon run, or what not.
I think the community's very welcoming. Of course, there's the occasional idiot, but that happens everywhere.
While you can't befriend NPCs per se, there are a wide variety of them, with interesting personalities.
I'm partial to the Messian girl who runs the crypts.
