What is alignment in this game? DISCUSS

Does it effect available spells, stats, choices of text..etc

This is most likely good, neutral, or evil. Since this IS a First Person Dungeon Crawler, it'll most likely have lots of similarities like the Wizardry games.

Alignment will most likely be used in what kind of party you make and what type of personality each character will have. For instance, if you have a party with some evil aligned characters, good guys can't fight with them. However, neutral can go either way.

There's gotta be some kind of downside to nuetral alignment or else the game wouldn't be balanced.

Usually Neutral guys can't learn the strongest good/evil spells and cant equip good/evil armor. That's how it's usually balanced I think.

Would be cool if it affected the school aspect thing, too!

I'm quite new to the first person RPG's. Can anyone tell me any games that uses this first person RPG's. I might have already played some but just forgot.

@Sei: School aspect? That'd be cool if thats the case. Looks like persona with more in it. ^^

For some reason it kinda reminds me of something I played as a kid which looked like this :

I just cannot understand any of it. Except for the words below. ^^

What's not to understand? The # are walls, the < and > are staircases, you're the @, the troll is T, the other bright white symbols are various items, and the F is a different evil creature. And the .'s indicate floor tiles that have been seen.

Whoa. Looks like a bit of a pain to play. Yet appealing in some simplistic way, although I admittedly can't imagine myself getting very deep into it. Maybe a little play here and there, but otherwise it might get tedious.

...Is that some nethack or am I confusing it with some other radicaly groovy game?

Foryth

More likely one of the multiple Nethack clones. The actualy picture I posted comes from a game named Larn which actualy came out a year before Nethack, but the one I played was just labeled DnD so I'm not quite sure which one it was.

DnD... DOS-based Dungeons 'n Dragons. That almost scares me...
Anyway, back to subject at hand. The only thing I know about the alignment system in CoH are that Evil-aligned characters can't be Paladins, as it is mentioned on the official launch site. This I am only guessing; I think Good-aligned can't be Summoners or perhaps Ninjas and Kunoichis. Just speculating.

umm spam all on the page making me sick

it is like that (good evil netural)
ive been looking on the site and im guessing that aliment has be be more that good evil and netural

i mean a evil Celestians

good Diablons

Celestians---cant be evil
A race with the blood of the heavens. They are considered the most pious race, making them highly skilled at priest-type majors. They place high importance on absolute justice, making them very uncomfortable around Diablons.

Diablons---8/10 cant be good
A race with the blood of the underworld. They are knowledgeable in magical physics, and often receive high marks in spell-casting majors. Being of demon origin, they tend to be avoided by other races. As an exception, there is no ill will between them and Erdgeists.
