TRAILER (http://www.ysonline.com/video)

The list of countries that will be allowed to play Ys Online via Key To Play is the following:

Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Vatican City.

As other people in this thread guessed, our license does not cover the USA.

Funny how SMT:Imagine just got picked up and now this. Don't get your hopes up though, I only heard bad things about it. Much like the horrible Ys Strategy for DS, this was not made by Falcom themselves, but by some random Korean developer (may have switched hands a few times too).

To give you an idea of how long this game took to come into its own, an American release was "confirmed" 5 years ago (http://pc.ign.com/articles/446/446304p1.html), in Dec 2003...

Like SMT:Imagine, I shall give this a try (it's free to play, pay for items/features) but don't get too excited. The real deal is coming to the DS courtesy of Atlus (LET'S HOPE THAT THERE'S MORE TO COME)

I'm not very excited about this game. It seems like a generic Korean MMORPG to me. I will try it at some point, though. I'm mostly interested in hearing its soundtrack, although Falcom's JDK Band didn't have anything to do with it.

I played this game. It is totally not Ys. The combat and movement felt more like Lineage 2 than anything else. Falcom did not develop this game, instead a company called CJ Entertainment in Korea made this game.

You claim Ys Online is getting an English localization but you neglect to post any sources? Well no wonder this thread got buried after just one reply.

Anyway, it should be noted that the deal was made with a UK-based company and that they have the rights to bring the game to 48 European countries.

So just because it's in English doesn't mean you'll actually get to play it. It's very possible they'll lock you out of the game if you live anywhere else.

I would also like a source...

But if what you say is true, then I guess I'd try it. If only because I really enjoy YS.

He did post a source. It just (unfortunately) happens to be the broken pic link in his post. Click on it, and you get taken to the English site of Ys Online. http://www.ysonline.com/home

But as you say, English localization doesn't necessarily mean US localization. *shrug*
