I can't wait for this game! The classic and modern modes are just plain GENIUS! Not only that we can turn on and off flavor text (I'll keep it on) and we can make up to 20 characters!
But above all the art style for the modern mode is VERY appealing to me.
Anyone else excited?

I'm definitely excited! There hasn't been a decent DS dungeon crawler since Etrian Odyssey 2. And as much as people liked the unique classes there, it's always nice to go back to a Wizardry clone with all the familiar game elements.

I am definitely interested in it. Though it does seem that the more I read about this game, the more I'm liking it. So I guess I am a bit excited about it.

I think it looks great. I love the drawing style. It looks serious and dark. At first I didn't think it had an automapping feature for some reason, but then I see on the site that it does

It's about time someone started doing Wizardry-style games again.

I'm exited, if only because it will be my first First Person Dungeon Crawler. Probably my first Dungeon Crawler, period. I'm hopeful, though. It looks really fun! If I like it, I'll probably get Class of Heroes, too, although I expect I might like that more because of it's cute anime style.
I'll most likely play the game mainly in classic view. It looks really sleek.

^ If you like it or want to try out this type of game earlier I suggest you try out Etrian Odyssey 1 or 2. EO2 can be found pretty cheap now I think. :) They are both very solid examples of the genre and two of my favorite games ever.

I always thought Etrian Odysseus was an SRPG. But then again, I never really looked into it...Well, anyways, thanks for the suggestion! I'll go and get it next weekend. ^^

I'm somewhat cautiously optimistic, though this game actually got a lower-than-average score from Famitsu, 22/40 (6 / 6 / 6 / 4).

Someone gave it a 4? Yikes, that does put a damper on things.

^ That's why you should use Amazon, my friend. Had mine pre-ordered for quite a while now.

Wait...Is it in their system or did they say it was like a class C or D title so no reserve?

I had the same problem. They said it was in the system, but for some reason the reserve wouldn't go though.

Does Amazon charge you upfront for games, or when they ship? I'm buying a house, so I can't afford to have a bunch of charges show up for games that aren't due for months.

The manager could find it on an item search, but there was no option for pre-ordering. She seemed fairly confused by it, saying that usually the only games you can't pre-order are ones that cost less than twenty bucks.

I thought they did, but several years ago they went ahead and charged me and, being a poor college student at the time, I didn't have the mony to cover it and oops overdraft charges wheeeeeee so I haven't bothered with Amazon preorders since.

Sorry to hear that. I can only speak from my own experience, of course. And over the past 4-5 years or so (when I began *really* keeping track of my credit card expenditure), Amazon has been very good at the whole "we charge your card only when we ship" thing.

I don't doubt that. My little incident was in...god, 2001 I think. It just left a sour taste in my mouth, and with so many other options, I just didn't see the need to bother again.
Which is the same reason Gamestop is about to lose some of my business...

I try really, really hard to not give GameStop any of my money any more. The only time I ever make an exception is if I really, really want a game on it's exact release date. That actually doesn't happen much anymore, at least in the past year or two.

I can literally see the nearest Gamestop from my living room window. It's hard to beat that kind of convenience.

I never heard of this game prior to the Atlus announcement.
I am amazed that the stylized graphics are so smooth. I am amazed at how the DS is becoming the only place to get "Triple A" quality classic RPGs.
I am buying this for sure. I just hope Atlus doesn't release to many more RPGs before I can get through both this game and Legacy of Y's.
My new DS will be on for many hours at a time once these two titles are released.

Wait is this game an oldschool RPG or oldschool PC Adventure game? I need to look into this more as I'm slight confused with that, but either way I'm a big fan of both so I'm pretty excited to see such a niche game come out to the states!

Oldschool RPG, like Wizardry and Bard's Tale (and not the PS2 Bard's Tale, of course).

Oh, ouch. Anyone have their scores for the EO games for comparison? I liked EOII quite a bit, but when you cut out all the anime/Japanese style, that puts a little damper on things... Is the game similar to EO in that it makes grinding feel rewarding as opposed to frustrating?
