Experience the revered music of Ys with this limited edition companion disc

Representatives from Atlus today stood silently before assembled members of the gaming press for an estimated 30 to 40 minutes, headphones in ears, listening to the Legacy of Ys: Books I & II soundtrack. Following the awkward delay, it was then announced that the game’s renowned musical score would be offered as a free pre-order bonus at select retailers.

Epic in melody and arrangement, the Ys Books I & II soundtrack has long been considered one of the greatest video same scores ever created. Originally released in an era when many games used music simply to avoid stretches of silence, Ys offered a sweeping emotional score, building on action and tension to provide players with an altogether potent experience. As relevant today as ever, the freshly arranged music CD still manages the same level of excitement and energy, and stand as a testament to true excellence in game music.

Hey, cool. I'm not the biggest Ys fan, but I know someone who'll be absolutely thrilled by this. Bravo, Atlus.

It's on amazon.ca too -- SWEET
I assume this'll be the same sort of boxset as the one we got for Luminous Arc II
Good move Atlus. You'll be getting my money.

PS: LOVING the Atlus & Falcom logos side by side (on Ys website)
Hope this isn't the first and last time...

I hope Atlus gets to translate the entire Ys series. Atlus would then have my soul.

I only know of Ys by reputation, and never actually had the pleasure of playing it back then. But this, coupled with the soundtrack CD of Yuzo Koshiro's music, means that it's an instant pre-order. :)

*goes to Amazon.com*

Done!! :D

It isn't specified, but I hope this game gets the same treatment as Luminous Arc 2, in that the soundtrack comes conveniently inside a nifty box.

And here I was, trying to get my budget in check before I kept getting games... dammit, now I have to go order this... :P

Yeah, I just ordered this and Suikoden. I had an extra set of mail keys made out ever since Atlus released their holiday trifecta and the flow of mail hasn't subsided since.

So far all indications points to "No" for the CD inside the box thing since this is a pre order bonus item while LA2 was included with every copy of the game and the bonus was the book.

Tempting, but I'm still playing P4. Don't think I'll be moving on to Ys after I'm done P4 anyways even with the bonus CD.

Hopefully everyone who preorder this will get it =)

Exactly what I was thinking. At best, it will get its own jewel case if anything.

At best it will be a nice slip cover like LA2 and YU's.

Here's pictures of the case that was used for the soundtrack CD included with limited Ys DS / Ys II DS Special Box, released only in Japan. That soundtrack CD also has selected tracks from both games, just like the Legacy of Ys: Books I & II pre-order bonus soundtrack CD will. They both probably share the same tracklist.

I have no idea what kind of case Atlus U.S.A. will be using for Legacy of Ys: Books I & II pre-order bonus soundtrack CD, but I wouldn't mind the one used in Japan. :) By the looks of it, the disc label seems to be different, at least.

CANADA!

If your question is about the soundtrack being offered here, then the answer is yes (http://www.amazon.ca/Legacy-Ys-Books-I-II/dp/B001INDEOW).

Actually I answered that in post #7 (http://www.atlus.com/forum/showpost.php?p=83771&postcount=7).

I just noticed that there's no "To Make the End of Battle" in the tracklist (in the Japanese soundtrack CD, anyway). One of the best songs in Ys II. :bs:

IIRC, Amazon.com lowered the price to 31.99, so, it's even cheaper now, plus free shipping, & no sales tax.:o
