View Full Version : Rise is really starting to annoy me..(Spoilers, i guess)
Now, i'm all for Rise...cause Teddie was grating on me..but this is just over the top.
In the Naoto shadow fight she wouldn't shut up, ever single turn she felt she had to remind me about my Party's status aliaments...

There go my hopes of not having to use the mute button.Well, in boss fights she can become abit over berring and she will start to irrate you by her constant reminders..but i like her better then Fuuka, aleast Rise shows emotion.
In normal battles i love her commentary it's just in long drawn out boss fights like Naoto's she really goes into over drive..
Thank god you don't have her when you fight shadow Teddie...

Shes way better than Teddie, although I prefer Teddie's whimper whenever an enemy gets back up =p
Maybe they should've tweaked the AI some so she didnt have to remind you SO often.. >>;

I must be skilled at tuning things out. I never really notice it, too busy deciding what I'm doing to give a damn if my status effect is still active. After all, if I cared, I'd have cured it. :P

After all, if I cared, I'd have cured it. :P I'm just lazy like that, half the time i don't really worry about status effects cause i never have the money to buy something to heal them and i don't think there's anything to cure seal..least i haven't looked cause not very many enemies seal you.

seal = silence... cure with mouthwash.
I like both Fuuka and Rise... however, I am slightly leaning toward Fuuka as being the better of the two for me. That said, Rise's "... enemies on the field. get psyched!" is priceless ! I didn't mind either's constant reminders in battle about party status... and it became just part of my mental dialogue to thank them for their input, e.g., "Thanks, Fuuka, my sexy dreamboat!" and "Thanks, Rise, your cute-points are going throught the roof!", etc. ; - )

LOL what i would have really liked, is to hace teddie stay as the team's analyst, and have Rise on my battle party.... i hardly use teddie ["a teddie-ous fight"? come on...] for some reason i really like Rise, just as wella as a character, but it;s true, hearing her "yukiko sempai is really low on health" every turn is a little tiring...

Rise doesn't bother me that much...but then again I was never bothered by Fuuka or ADA in ZOE2 >_>

Rise never annoyed me when I had her for the scanning person. I didn't like Teddie that much because of the voice, so Rise seemed like an upgrade (Unlike in P3, where Mitsuru was replaced by Fuuka. Sure you got a decent fighter but you get a voice that makes me want to punch babies). Also, after some time, Teddie's puns get annoying.

I actually I do get a little irked when she goes, "*Squeal* Sempai, you're so cool!" Other than that, she doesn't bother me too much.

i like hearing rise's voice lol and i just love "haha its puny this'll be cake" i hope shes in persona 5 ( coz im sure there will be one or at least there better be sooner the better late 2009 or early 2010 plz )

I liked the fact she was in overdrive when you were in a boss battle, especially when they were spamming status ailments at you. Added to the tension because the voice acting had a sense of panic and concern to it.

Your way of description is making all that heard worse for me... Wonder why, but Rise don't really get to my nerves except... That I feel like throwing up whenever I'm in her dungeon and battling her shadow's "striptease moves" and also maybe it's because her characteristics are opposite of mine and one more, I know it's not her fault, but, I really HATE this!!! I just HATE seeing some fans pairing Rise and Naoto!!! I feel like yelling : "C'mon be a little more considerate and NORMAL!!!"
Whew... Now I felt tired after saying (or typing to be more exact) those...:yawn:

I still think that Rise's and Teddie's battle commentary are much better than Fuuka's in P3, and I think that's probably why I don't mind them, having heard the cringing alternative.
The genuine sense of concern that Daroki mentioned is a big part of it. I always felt that it was someone sincerely warning me of my dire situation, rather than someone who I've dragged unwillingly into the role of colour commentator.

Ha ha. In my opinion, Rise isn't as annoying as Fuuka. Although, Teddie took it over the top for me. When I was in the battle with Kanji's shadow I wanted to stab something. Teddie would not shut the hell up. After that Rise didn't really bug me since I was owning the boss fights. So I had no worries on that matter.
In the end, Mitsuru was quite possibly my favorite. Since her voice wasn't exactly as high as the rest. That, and her quotes were pretty cool too. Especially "C'est magnifique!"(sp?)
Also, to cj. Yes, Igor would make the best. =p

Hmmm... ok, I'll spoiler tag it I guess. I'd want Igor to be doing the announcing during the Margaret/Elizabeth battles and giving you false information the entire time. :)

I feel for you, really...and exactly...When I was fighting death for the first time she scanned it and she said , "it'll be a piece of cake" something like that. Are your crazy??? Its Death we're talking about here....And yes she talks about everything, specially if the enemy uses an all stats down spell on you, she'll specifically say it one by one, repeatedly...Are Lovers arcana really supposed to be annoying? well okay, except for Lisa of P2.

I know there are a lot of stereo types in the Persona games. Considering how obsessed with stereo types Japan is, it is a matter of course. But I always thought the one thing Persona did right was push their characters past their stereo types. Especially in P4 you see so many sides to each person that they feel more flushed out than just being dumped into a stereo type would normally allow.

This. Although ADA was kinda cool, because you you respond to her advice either positively or negatively. That's actually not a bad idea to incorporate in future games.

None of the commentary ever got to me except for Mitsuru'. It wasn't so much annoying as it was distracting in the When Harry Met Sally "I'll have what she's having" kind of way.

Aww I liked Chie, I didn'tfind her boring. I found Teddy to be a bit boring honestly.
