Success has announced that in March they'll be releasing Raiden Fighters Aces for the X-Box 360 which contains all the Raiden Fighters games in one collection! So far no localization has been announced unfortunately so I hope Atlus can pick it up!

I'm not sure a SHMUP on 360 would sell more than a kiddy rythm game on D$ released near Christmas or a kiddy action game on D$ released near Christmas.

Don't forget the Idea Factory SRPG. :(

It's what really made me realized the quality of games Atlus USA are willing to localize has gone down a few notches. But they have an ongoing relationship with Success, so I hope they take a look at this!

To be honest, I don't think it's gone down that much. Looking back, they've been releasing some pretty horrid titles for years. I just never realized how bad until I got a chance to play them. Now I just refuse to buy everything they localize just because, as I once did.

Of course, they usually do release several must haves a year. This year though, only one. Maybe they have gone down a bit...

This would be a day one purchase for me as well....Raiden is a probably the most recognized arcade shmup franchise in the U.S. and I'm sure the collection would do fairly well (much better than Wartech, if that is part of the concern with porting). Also, Atlus Japan used to do such awesome ports of Cave shmups, and I'm sure the new systems can run the newer games with absolutely no issues....somebody needs to get on that quick!

Got the game in japanese, it's alright but it's not something I would've paid that much money on (64 bucks). It has got 3 games, Raiden Fighter, Raiden Fighter 2 and Raiden Fighter Jets. They may be 3 different games, but they don't look like something different. They could just have stacked it in one game and I would not see any difference. All in all it is an alright buy, but not anything ground breaking. Add to this that the patch has yet to be released.

Considering the crap treatment they're giving Ultimate Shooting Collection (been delayed for nearly 3 months now, with a horrifying cover to boot) I would beg to differ.

This has Atlus USA written all over it. Total hardcore SHMUP, that won't cost an arm and a leg to localize and can be sold for a friendly budget price.

UFO is supposedly doing Raiden IV though. Which I hope is true. But in the meantime Atlus can do this and Metal Saga DS for Q1-Q2 09. Hell if they did I'd even buy SRT (all of them) and Dokapon Kingdom.

5pb are going most of the Cave stuff, Cave is doing Death Smiles them-selves. Nobody's pick them up yet because they aren't out. Raiden IV is out but UFO will probably pick that up.

I wouldn't get my hopes up about Atlus bringing over Cave shumps though, Atlus would probably pick up Item Getter (http://5pb.jp/games/ItemGetter/) before they pick up any of 5pb's Cave stuff. :(

Honestly, I don't expect them to bring over any 5pb games (which would be a good thing if they aren't going to touch the Cave shumps).

It really is a shame no one has brought out any of Cave's shmups to the US. So many weaker games have found their way over. I wonder if Cave is overcharging the publisher for them.

DOJBLEX and probably other CAVE ports for the 360 will be getting localized!

That's according to the 5PB rep at the DDPDOJBLEX and Thunderforce VI event today in Osaka. He says they haven't signed on the dotted line with the company yet but it will be officially announced 'at some point'. He said they will be trying to do the same for Ketsui and Deathsmiles.

Also, DDPDOJBLEX has slowdown reproduced within it (noticeable after destroying the rotating tower thing on the first part of stage 1) and they are working hard to maintain slowdown and not get rid of it.

Valcon eh? They never got around to publishing Ikki-Tousen PS2, hell they even deleted my posts regarding said game on their forum. They must have choked on licensing rights. The "updated" cover art is not surprising considering what UFO did to Ultimate Shooting Collection.

As for finding them in Canada, you will most likely be able to find it in Zellers bargain bins. That's where I picked up Daisenryaku VII Exceed and Shepherd's Crossing (both are Valcon-published Japanese-dev'd games) for 10$ each. In fact, SC being a Success game explains how they managed to get their hands on RFA.

I'm happy to see this released ! And compared to Milestone Shooting Collection, I find the boxart pretty neat.

Amazon put a boxart up but it has a different publisher's logo... weird. I have a feeling I'll never find this in Canada.

I don't want to sound like a spokesperson, but you should try Videogames Plus Online. It's a canadian store and it's very reliable (I order from them frequently).

Jeffx, I was wondering if you were refering to the messed up controls when playing with a rotated screen. If so, it's true you can input a code to "rotate" the controls as well. I have the game and otherwise I'm quite satisfied with MSC.
