View Full Version : Anyone else getting this glitch?

EDIT: There is now a thread on Aeria's Forums regarding this issue. If you are having this issue, go to this thread (http://forums.aeriagames.com/viewtopic.php?t=228207) and post the requested information so that Aeria may look into the problem and we can actually play the game.

So I just got the game yesterday and I started playing it.

I just beat the Ghouls, I go through the door that says "There's no turning back, continue anyway" and then when the screen goes black during the cutscene, this happens (http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb62/FangzV/megaten3.png).
If you can't view the image, it's an error window reading
(1.207)An error has occurred(10009)[][12,11,402]. Quitting Shin Megami Tensei IMAGINE.
With an OK button as if I had a choice.

Does anyone else experience this or know a way to fix it? I've tried going through multiple times and it still dies.

Does it have anything to do with my video adapter (http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb62/FangzV/megaten4.png)?

Your video adapter does not support Vertext Shader 2.0 and/or Pixel Shader 2.0. Some screen effects may not be produced.
With another OK button.

Also when I set it up, I moved everything to a different folder than where I downloaded it. Is that a factor?

Or is my computer just fail?


ANY help would be greatly appreciated, because it seems everytime it freezes I have to start over. I don't think I'm supposed to leave the tutorial at level 4.

I think it's the Japanese there so that may be the problem

Whether that's a joke or not, that is reasonable. So what, I have to install a language pack now? >.>; I'll try that then.

EDIT: Just my luck that I need a disc to do that.

You shouldn't need a disc, follow these instructions: http://newton.uor.edu/Departments&Programs/AsianStudiesDept/Language/asianlanguageinstallation_XP.html

If the problem is the Japanese, that will fix it.

@_@; I checked off the second box and clicked details just like it said but I can't find Japanese in the drop-down menu.

Yes.
I did.

It doesn't have Chinese or Korean on the list either.

Edit: I am an MMO noob.
If I were to delete the files and then reinstall them, my character would still be thar, right?
o-O; Maybe that's the solution.

Your characters are saved server-side, so the only thing you'd lose by uninstalling and installing is settings. If you changed view distance or shadows, what-have-you.

I'd give it a try.

Fangz; I didn't experience that problem and I have neither Vertext Shader 2.0 and/or Pixel Shader 2.0. I checked, mainly because I was going through that same area last night.

Then again, it could be because I upgraded the language software back in 05. I really do hope you solve your problem.

I've decided to wait until Aeria responds to my report. If they don't respond within the promised 48 hours or their solution does not work, then I shall try to delete and reinstall.

That's the best route you can take right now. Have you checked on the boards to see if others where experiencing the same problem as yourself?

Hm. It seems like just yesterday a thread there was posted. xD Thanks for reminding me to check them.

EDIT: Actually now it says today.
