Valkyrie Spear?

A refugee just gave me a Valkyrie Spear, and it's restricted to women only. But in all my time with the game, I've yet to see a single female spear user. Unless Reyna can, but she's an Archer so I doubt it.

Which of the women can use spears? I mean, I assume they wouldn't put in a useless weapon, right?

Ares can use a spear. It's a good secondary weapon for her.

Ah. I guess she gets it at class up or somesuch? I had been ignoring her since she only had Swords, but if she gets spears too maybe I'll use her on my next quest.

I have Ares in my team and when I highlight spears in the Uzaporium no stats show up, therefore she cannot equip them as of now.

What level was she? Mine joined at level 4, she probably earns the skill at a certain level.

I think a couple of characters do this. I'm 99% sure that Logue starts out only able to use Axes, but I noticed that he was randomly able to equip Greatswords towards the endgame.

what's the level requirement for that spear?

If it was the level requirement, it would have displayed stats as though it was equippable, but it would have been greyed out. If Ares is below a certain level, she can't equip spears at all, so no stats are displayed.

I'm going to hazard a guess at around level 10, because it's a nice, even number. I'll use her in my next team and see when she gets it.

Bingo. XD For some reason, she can't use spears until either 9 or 10. The same is true of a few other characters, I think (i.e. using an axe at first, then being able to use axes and greatswords).
