What do you think guys, would you want to get this game when it releases as well?

All depends on what combat is like.

Looks like a traditional fantasy RPG?? I guess we'll find out soon enough:
http://www.summonnight.net/
I hope it's localized if Flight Plan is behind it, and that it'll be balanced like their SRPGs and not as easy like their other spin-offs. If they are making this and it's due out in February, just like Shining Force Feather, then they've really been busy lately. They also have that PS2 SRPG called Scared Blaze coming out as well.

My enjoyment of Summon Night games has been up and down. I loved Swordcraft Story 2, but I only sort of liked the other two translated games.
The first image from V-Jump is awfully fuzzy. So I'm curious as to whether Tears Crown will go back to the series' tactical RPG roots or not.

I think I would buy it if Atlus brings 1 & 2 over

Day one! I would even reserve the bad boy! I want any and all Summon Nights to be translated! I'm SO keeping my fingers crossed, please Atlus!
Does the main guy remind anyone else of D.Gray.Man?
Anywho, I would probably pick it up

I'd rather get something dark like Elminage DS, but I wouldn't pass this up either.
Thanks for scans.

According to those scans Flight Plan is still in charge of planning the project, but they aren't making it them-selves. It's a traditional RPG being developed by Think & Feel who made Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings.

Are there night scenes again like in Twin Age? Is that what they're showing on the bottom right of the second scan? I can't read a lick of japanese so any and all info from that scan is greatly appretiated!

You can play as either Dylan, the prince of Deltiana, or Fara, the princess of Celestia, when you start the game.

You made my day/evening! I loved those! I really hope that this one is translated into english down the line. I've bought every single one that atlus has translated so far and I yearn for more! Also thanks for that famitsu page, I really appretiate it. ^^

The official website (http://www.summonnight.net/) is open. Looks like the Princess of Celestia's name is spelt Phara, not Fara.

That's a good thing if it doesn't break after you pass a certain level like it did in the JP version of WD. But it doesn't look the same to me, they're both turn based battle systems that use both screens, the similarities seem to end there.

World Destruction was so ridiculously easy. :T
And considering that's the only battle screen we have so far (that's visible with some detail?), I don't think it's too far to comment on how similar they look, because they look pretty much identical barring the fourth character.
I haven't browsed the site yet, though. There's probably other stuff out there.
Speaking of World Destruction--
I hope SNX makes use of the touch pad at the very least. The lack of that for WD made me seriously question why the game was put on the DS in the first place, when a story of that magnitude would've done much better on something that had more space (and therefore more time for story and character development).

I support this, even though there's a great risk that Namco Bandai will charge Dragon Ball-levels, to have this licensed out to Atlus USA.

I already played the Japanese version. I liked it, mostly because it was Summon Night. The voice acting is well staffed (especially Arty's <3).
But oh gawd, if Atlus DOES localize it, they'll probably dub it, holy--
I'm not saying they'll go full voiced, but I still fear the effort/emotionless American dubs of doom. They're super effective against me.

I couldn't care less about the VA, as long as it's a good game, then i'm in. ATLUS!! please!! localize this game!!
I don't quite like Summon Night: Twin Age. So easy to beat unlike the GBA versions where you can make your own weapons and stuff.
ATLUS must localize Summon Night 1, 2, and X for the DS here, since Swordcraft Story is a hit after all.

Yes!!! ATLUS must localise these games. DEFINATELY!!
They are much better than the Summon Night: Twin age and have of course a potential to outsell it cause everyone will buy'em!
They are supercute, good quality games, with awesome battlesystems etc etc! Everything the cosmumers want!
^_^ That's why ill continue to support ATLUS and keep buying most of the releases they bring stateside, so that they can localise more masterpieces for us! ;)

Wow, it's been over a year already :\
Get ready for an essay of MY FEELINGS.
I was playing my friend's Japanese copy (even though I can understand only a bit) and really looked over the game.
Personally, I think it's a lot better than Twin Age. The two are barely comparable. In Twin Age, Summon Beasts weren't even used in combat, but in Tears Crown they are. It really puts a variable as to how a battle can come out.
The system is turn based (and there's no problem with that) and I enjoyed grinding my team to grow stronger. And it's not just leveling the characters. You have to have battles to have your Summon Beasts learn new skills. That made it a lot less boring. There were also battles that I had to redo because it was a challenge, so don't think that just because it's turned based that it's a baby game. Also, Braves, mini missions in battles (optional) such as winning without anyone dying or defeating an enemy a certain way, added to the fun and challenge.
That reminds me of Hexyz Force. Comparing the two games, I think Tears Crown wins by a landslide. HF was more about solo completion of missions and getting items with less text to enjoy and take in. Tears Crown is quite story oriented, but that lets you see character traits unfold, which I could compare to Persona 3 and 4. Personally, I think that it would have been nice if we were able to interact with the characters in HF more.
There are more unique things about this game, such as the Summon Plate system and parts when you have to act in a royal court. I believe Tears Crown is the most innovative and interesting of the Summon Night series. It's presented beautifully on the DS and is a gem for RPG fans, in my opinion.
It makes me really sad that this game probably won't be coming to America, but a lot of things can't be helped. I just wanted to post this because I wanted people to know that it really is an interesting game.
Still, I hope that one day it'll be localized so I can buy it and play it while squealing happily like a schoolgirl <3

Weren't the rights to the property given to Namco Bandai?
I'm not that sure, but isn't there a possibility that they have the code? I dunno, I can always hope.
