As the title implies, this thread is for discussing the guide book. Why? Because if your a member of these forums you'll want to read every bit of Persona 4 info available.

I went ahead and pre-ordered my guide book. Don't get me wrong, i'll beat the game multiple times before i consider using the guide book. However, guide books always have nice "tools" like persona fusion tables, stats, and etc... For me, the guide book is like the visual data art book, its a nice extra i look at to satisfy my persona cravings.

What are your thoughts on the guide book?

There's a very nice thread already (http://www.atlus.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2186), along with detailed info on how to order + free shipping coupon (http://www.atlus.com/forum/showpost.php?p=68069&postcount=23)

The GameStop people told me you can get a discount if you pick up the game and guide at the same time.

Yeah because of Gamefaqs, why bother writing something when you can (usually) get something better online.

i dont know, its like asking "why get the art book when you can get plenty of pictures online?"

Strat guides dont sell as well because everyone knows someone will eventualy copy it and post it as their own work on gamefaqs or some other gaming site.

While that might be true, one can't always have their computer right next to them while playing. So a book saves a lot of running back and forth.

and printing kills trees! Well, so do guide books but still!

This.

I still use a desktop computer. One of my roomies is usually sitting on the couch with her laptop while I play, and half the time she ends up opening up fusion tables for me so I'll stop getting up and down.

I might get it. Not immediately though, I don't want the temptation of spoilers only a few pages away until after my first play through.

i see both yours points. I used to have computer + tv next to each other, then i got a VGA cable so i now have a nice huge widescreen monitor. Im expected to get my guide book between dec 2 and dec 4 so i'll update the thread to let you guys know if its worth getting. i will NOT read the spoilers or guide sections of the book so dont expect me to post that.

Gamestop, or at least my local one, is taking pre-orders on the game AND the guidebook. I had to order online for P3 since they only got maybe two copies in and didn't order any more of the P3 guide..

Rosenqueen has a bundle up for Persona 4, the game (no mention of the artbook) plus guide for $60. So basically full price for both. Yeah. Still felt it was kind of worth mentioning though.

Yeah you do get a discount I think it's 10% off and if you have their edgecard or whatever you get extra 20% off too.

I have the Edge Card so it's a pretty nice deal over all.

That's pretty good. I thought the edge card only applied to used games? Not in this case?

Nope. You get the 10% off on guides as well.
