One of Atlus USA's finest localizations, if not the first really awesome one.

Like nothing they did before. It's dark, has mature themes and characters, and the game's difficulty will snap your spine across its knee if you let it.

It even has cameos from Persona 1, and isn't above making fun of the original's legendarily bad localization.

Also, great soundtrack.

The game's only real flaw is that it takes an awesome character like Maya and makes her a silent protagonist. Play Innocent Sin to get a taste of how multi-layered her personality is.

Shoot, play Innocent Sin first anyway, if you can. EP will ruin its ending before long.

Yeah really, I don't know what they were even thinking when they released the sequel to a two part game first, considering the first part is the absolute best.

You don't even get to enjoy or know of the differences between this game and the other side. The way they "fill you in" on the events of the first half just doesn't do the game justice.

I just started playing this weekend. It's hard as #### (or, most likely, I just suck at it), but I like it. Much, much more in your face than P3 (suicide style summoning aside).

You have to keep in mind that Atlus of America back in 2000 didn't have near the resources it has now. Apparently they had to work closely with Atlus of Japan in order to make a decent translation and Atlus of Japan pretty much gave them the option of help on either Innocent Sin or Eternal Punishment but not both. Now I am not sure if it went down exactly like that, but I do remember an article from theGia.com (R.I.P.), which mentioned Atlus of American chose to do EP since they could still work with the original makers of that game. No the fill ins weren't perfect but they were better than nothing at all and still a decent effort nonetheless.

Maybe Innocent Sin had a better story but I still don't think EP was inferior or nearly as disappointing as some make it out to be. I'm starting to think much of the Innocent Sin love is because it was the game that we didn't get or maybe because all the controversy over Hitler and Jun (Homosexuality). I'm willing to bet if it was the other way around people would still be complaining. Then we would be hearing stuff like "why bring out part one if you're not going to put out the conclusion" or stuff like "they didn't translate the sequel since it dealt with murders at a high school (note it came out around a year after the Columbine shootings) and that there was a killer running around with a bloody paper bag over his head.

Don't get me wrong. I would have loved having both games much in the same way I wish we had the snow queen quest included in Persona One (without using a Gameshark), but only getting EP was probably what Atlus thought was the better choice at the time and having one is definitely much better than having neither.

I really don't want to open a new thread to ask this. I need to know this asap! Does anyone knows what Tatsuya says in the line of "We have precious friends" in romaji? of course, at the anime bonus disc.

I just got Eternal Punishment yesterday. I havn't gotten a chance to play it since I bought it from a local store for 40$ mint condition game dics and bonus disk. I'm about to play it I'm hoping its amazing since I have been wanting to play it for some time now.
