THE WORLD REVOLVES AROUND ATLUS WITH MY WORLD, MY WAY FOR NINTENDO DS™
It’s Elise’s way or the highway in this plucky adventure
IRVINE, CALIFORNIA — NOVEMBER 13, 2008 — Atlus U.S.A., Inc., the publisher you all will love (or else), today announced the new world-crafting adventure My World, My Way for Nintendo DS™. After being turned down by her fated love, Princess Elise is determined to cast off her dress and fineries in exchange for a suit of armor and a weapon and prove that she too can lead a life of excitement. As Elise, the lands you explore are yours to transform as you see fit. If the bitter sting of rejection wasn’t enough to stop you, how can a bunch of unruly monsters? It’s your world, your way, and that’s that!
My World, My Way is scheduled for release on February 3, 2009 with an MSRP of $29.99.

About My World, My Way
Elise is a beautiful princess who has been given everything she’s ever wanted. Upon turning 15, she realizes there’s only one thing in the world she lacks – a handsome boyfriend. She sets out to remedy this by asking her father to hold a ball in her honor, to which every prince from every kingdom is invited to come and try their hand at wooing her. However, only one young man catches Elise’s eye, and, as it turns out, he is no prince, but an adventurer. Knowing that fate itself has ordained him as her true love, she confesses her desire to share in his exciting life... Only to be flat out rejected. He tells her, “If it is truly your desire is to be with an adventurer such as me, I would ask you first to do something with that long hair. Cast aside that frilly dress, and don a suit of armor. Gain some experience in battle, and when you have matured, we shall meet again. Until then, I bid you farewell.”
And so, much to the Kingdom’s shock and dismay, Elise, the clueless princess, sets out on her adventure! It’s her world, her way, and as long as she can help the weak, slay the monsters, and win enough fame, she’ll get her happily ever after!
Key Features
• Your world, your way— Alter the landscape to get your way! Different terrain options will open up different opportunities for new enemies and items, and give you power over your adventure.
• Pout your way to victory— Pouting is power, and developing your selfishness is key to getting the Pout Points that will give you options to force the world to behave.
• Not your brother’s RPG— Delight in the off-the-wall journey of a spoiled princess whose selfishness fuels her ability to successfully become an adventurer.
My World, My Way has been rated “E” for Everyone with Alcohol Reference, Mild Fantasy Violence, Mild Suggestive Themes by the ESRB.

I like that pout button! You guys really come up with wicked websites for your games.
Also, good price point. Anything above and I would have passed on it.

Ah, thanks Sei.
Now my question is, what was the point of renaming her from Angela to Elise? Both are rather acceptable names. I'm just getting REALLY freaking tired of absolutely pointless renames in localizations. I'm looking at you, Square Enix. And now Atlus, apparently.

The game will be fine, there are more people that buy games other than people such as yourself. Just look at Ubisoft, they're still pumping out DS games like crazy...

I asked this question before about another game, before deciding to pass on it, but would a guy enjoy this game? Secondly, would it be socially awkward for a guy to purchase this game? I buy games at my local ebgames, so..., yeah. I enjoyed Izuna, but I don't like my games to be too feminine, meaning that I do draw the line somewhere.

I do own both Izuna games, so it's not the female protagonist that turns me off. I did hear that Super Princess Peach was good but I decided to pass on it. Maybe I'll give it a try if I get the chance. I guess I shouldn't judge a book by its cover.
I'm not going to buy anymore games until after christmas, and I'm not sure if I want to buy a copy of Super Princess Peach from the eb games my friend from high school works at, but I'll think about it. It would have to be at the other ebgames within a driving distance, since I used to work at best buy, and someone in my family works at future shop, so yeah.

I think it's pretty pathetic if you're interested in a girly game but lack the guts to go buy it in person... What exactly are you afraid of? That they'll think you're gay? (and if so, why would you even give a crap?) Honestly, if the boxart really makes it that obvious the game is meant for girls, it's much more likely they'll just assume it's a present. However, that doesn't even apply to this game's boxart. Did you see the main character's chest? Store clerks probably have no idea this game is meant for girls and will just think you're some weeaboo creep living in your mom's basement. Hopefully that makes you feel better.
Now if you would excuse me, I'll go play Princess Debut in public on my way to school again.

Well, I am a guy and I own both Princess Debut and Super Princess Peach (along with some other "feminine" games). I play both whenever and wherever I please. Bought them at a retail store and received some weird looks but I really could care less what people think of me. Both games are fun and I have a funny feeling this game will be as well. :D

So, as you can tell, I don't care if a game is feminine or not, so long as it's fun, it's worth playing. And screw everyone else who's all like "lawl, princess peach? umzz.. u be gay! lawlawlawlawlawlawl!"

idk about you guys, but speaking as a girl, sometimes I get enough contempt for being female and playing video games even when they don't have pink and purple all over the case.
This is not going to stop me from buying this, mind, but the chances I'll order online are high, simply because I don't want some creepy dude at Gamestop to give me one more reason to want to kick him in the nuts.

Word Iris. That's part of why I do most of my game buying online. People have a certain expectation of what your hobbies should be and go :/ when they are different. Also Canadian selection often sucks :)
Princess Peach ruled. My significant Otter barely plays any games at all yet loved that game. Finished with everything clear I think.

Awww :) That's always nice. I don't really know that many people IRL that play games outside of Madden, or that don't go the whole extra mile and play only stuff like D&D and Magic.

I dont know why, but Ive never felt like being a girl stopped me from playing games. ^^; I can understand that males socially have more of an image to upkeep, but I think today's world is a little more accepting. -shrug-
There's a difference between being stopped by something, versus still doing it but getting sick of people being dicks over it, is all I'm saying. It's not something I get from EVERY GUY EVER!!!1 by any means, but it still happens more than it should, and yeah, sometimes I do decide to buy things via alternate means because hey! It's annoying!
There were actually a lot of girls who didn't go to the anime club at my college for the same reason, even if they liked the stuff and wanted to watch it. When that creepy guy in the row in front of you asks you out for the fifth time in two weeks, you might just decide that watching the stuff in the privacy of your own home is a better idea, you know?

Hmmm, same developper as Master of the Monster Lair and in the trailer, I can see identical textures, a very similar game engine and even identical monsters.
Improved, though. MotML felt like a last-minute DSification of a GBA game, with the town and menus both on the wrong screen.

I'll pick this up at some point.
In my experience, the moment a girl walks into a game store she is treated like some sort of goddess. The amount of extra pre-order bonuses I'm given has a direct correlation to whether or not my girlfriend is with me.
I've never seen girl gamer fans disparaged just for being a girl. Stalked sounds more likely to me.

Sadly Enough i made an account just to be able to post here.....
i guess the stereo types still live..in gaming. i grew up playing and i will say that my other is not a gamer of "Any Kind"...all tho i did get him to play a dirt bike game with me once.... i also 4wheel, work on a website, and end up out in the middle of nowhere (including canada) too often to count..lol i take all my gadgets with me..( ipod, pda, ds ) i could careless what the game is rated for or geared towards...as long as the game doesn't bore me to tears...now that is not to say i am not picky as what i buy for my games.. but atlus has been one of the companies that actually has some decent games out there...since the very sad downward swing of companies thinking us gamers are so dumb...that we need help to play.
sadly enough it is the game mechanics that kill a game not if it is for a boy or girl....and if you are not buying a game cause you "Think its Girlie" then you are just missing out and have not reached a mature enough level to let you be yourself yet and not care what people think..
besides i have all the "Boys" at the local gamestop trained to stop thinking of me as just a girl gamer...lol they actually ask me about the games since i am an early adopter..plus my fav thing to do is test out stuff..~.~ online and in real life;)

I don't have the money for any games right now, but I definately want to pick it up soon :D It really looks like a fun mechanic and I love RPGs that don't take themselves seriously.
Plz giv mi job so i kan play moar gamez?
And as a girl, I play games because I like them and I don't really let other people influence what I enjoy. The 'girly' part of it is a little bit of a turnoff since I'm not into that, and I'm sure some people will never see past that, but fun gameplay wins all.

This game is boss for the DS. Very well done, and the story is hokey - but doesn't pretend to not be anything more than a backdrop of sorts. I *do* hope that she becomes more mature - but at level 10 in the Flower city and finally got Paro and Pinky.
I also do not think this game will appeal to girls more than guys.
...And if you are a guy afraid to buy a game because it looks bright, colorful, cheery, and even a bit bratty, and has a female MC - you have a long way to go to being a man.
