absolutely! In my top 5 Wii games. Disappointed that it didn't live up to the hype altogether, but the soundtrack, attitude and story kept me glued for a good 10 hours. Sequel will deliver, I'm confident!

I'd put this game number one on wii games released, although not exactly a lot of stiff competition.
The style of this game was unbelievable, from the retro Tecmo references to the Star Wars tributes to the punk rock customizable clothes.

One of the top 5 games released not only on the system, but for the year itself. Great game that gets alot of attention but is often forgoten when people talk of reasons to own a Wii.

The gym workout especially and a lot of sound effects seemed to be strong Tecmo wrestling references. Suda is a major wrestling fan and became famous for writing the storyline to an apparently controversial Fire Pro Wrestling game.

An awesome game that was, unfortunately, plagued by a crappy progression system.
I hated doing menial tasks to scrounge up money when I was so pumped up and ready to go from the previous fight. It really broke up the pace.

I had so much fun with this game it should be illegal. There were times that the screen was completely covered in dead and dying corpses and blood. Other than that, most of the game had me cracking up. The side-jobs and hitman missions were fun, but a few seemed nearly impossible.
Most of the things people complain about with the game were done on purpose. I can't remember if it was on this forum or another that it was stated that the game is meant to be very artistic and subjective. Take for instance how most of the town is bland and most buildings look like every other building, but shops and other places of interest stand out from the dullness that surrounds them.
The list of video game references could go on forever. I saw a Legend of Zelda reference in the icon for the weapon shop alone.
Very good game and I couldn't recommend it enough, especially to people who've been playing video games most of their lives.

I'm playing through it now and I'm currently at the 8th ranked assassin and quite frankly I have yet to be impressed. The combat is pretty bland, the typical enimies are even more blant, which I can say likewise for the city... if they were going to do such a half assed job (I mean GTA3 was made on PS2 hardware, there's no reason the world in this game should and react so much worse) then they shouldn't even have bothered. I hear the boss fights are the meat and potatoes of the game, but if that's all I have to look forward to then I have to say that NMH is a pretty half assed attempt at a game (which should come as no surprise considering Suda's past work), and I'm pretty disappointed. Still I haven't beat it yet so hopefully my mind will change...

quite harsh....gotta admit true on some aspects....the jobs really are a pain in the ass and the city is even more worse....but wat can u expect....killing random citizens in the middle of the street....the story is great though if u really pay attention...well not really.....everthing...EVERYTHINNG unfolds waaaay at the end(pretty messed up one too)
but anyways i would still give it a 8.25/10
on a side note if assasin number 8 is shinobou then thats my fav. boss and one the hardest too...watch out for her insta-kill.....it's very kewl...but strong.

If you don't like it by that point, your mind probably won't change. The story improves a bit and playing the game on hard mode after beating it can really improve it though. Mastering that dark side reversal or whatever it is officially called; that part gets fun.

NMH is still the best game on the Wii in my opinion. SMG is a close second, but NMH rocked.

I recently Beat No more Heroes and it is one of the Best games on the Wii so Far.
The Combat by Far may Seem band, but as enimies get tougher your going to have to do more than press the A button. Also
The Lawnmowing Job is EPIC

there is a simple equation for why no more herose is good.
Video game + Suda 51 = win
Suda Goichi (suda 51, for those who don't get the japanese pun that lead to the nickname) is incapable of making a stale, derivative, or bad game. period.

I Feel No More Heroes is a pretty badass game. suda 51 titles are always over the top and that is something that a lot of media not just video games are missing.

Killer 7, No More Heroes, and others make today's games look like Barbie Horse Adventures

Well I just beat it and I have to say that it's a pretty weak game. It falls short in many areas, but the fact that the game is so easy on its default level and that combat really doesn't take much skill at all makes it fail as a decent action game. I don't give a #### about how cool the game tries to be, because it the end it's just silly. I was expecting much more because of threads like this, but the game falls flat. At least it's better than Killer 7, but that doesn't say much...
