Hello, my friends. How are you?
I would like to make a thread that contains images and informations about Persona 3 cosplays. I'm gonna start this thread by posting some images of a Aigis' cosplay. Amazing, my friends! She's from Brazil and she's my friend. 8D

yikes man. marlon is 15, so I'm guessing she's around that age too.

I think there should be some sort of icon, maybe underneath peoples avatars that mark them as a minor. There's a lot more of them running around these parts lately, and being able to spot them quickly would be extremely beneficial.
Actually, I may post a copy of this in the board suggestions as well.

on the other hand everyone is entitled to their anonymity. I only know he's 15 because of the age thread. also that chick doesn't look much older than 16-17.
regardless that was a creepy thing to say. I mean I definitely *think* it for some of the veryyyy nice cosplayers from the Atlus contest (hey, I'm a man too) but I won't just come out and say it so bluntly.

In regards to matters of age, I strongly disagree with you.

Did you guys like it? She's almost fifteen!
Anyway, I just wanted to show that Brazil got some brillant cosplayers! =D
But Olethros, Jeffx and Kakizaki, I didn't get what you say. What does my age have to do with it? Am I doing something wrong? If I am, I would like to know what it is.

Anyway, you're friend makes a really good Aigis. Tell her I say "Good job!"

Good Morning! I saw the cosplay topic and thought I'd share
some photos that were taken during our convention (Anime Evolution).
I'm the Ryoji in these. xD
We met an Aigis and Metis there (they were awesome),
but Pharos and Shinjiro flew out to the convention with me. Enjoy~ =)
I apologize for the link, I'd just hate to fill up the page with photos. xD;

In all seriousness though, I don't take offense to "large" cosplayers. Do toned and svelte cosplayers look alot hotter? Hell yeah. But I've seen some simply ridiculously good cosplays donned on those with less than "ideal" body types.

Well, I would like to give my thanks to everyone who posted here. Thanks for the amazing cosplay photos, seeing persona cosplays really makes me happy. :P
Special thanks to those who appreciated my friend's cosplay. I couldn't contact her later. But I'm sure she's very happy for your comments. :)
If I already didn't have so much to do via cosplay I would totally do something form Persona 3... to bad my hair is much longer than everyone in persona 3

Hey guys,
Sorry for resurrecting an older thread. I was wondering if someone had any pics or can give me some info on different weapons Aigis uses? My friend will be cosplaying as Aigis and I will be making her weapon but I haven't gone far enough in the game and will probably not have enough time to do so. I have the artbook and perfect guide but there aren't pictures there. Can anyone point me in the right direction or help? I'm looking for either her best or most extravagant weapon . Thanks!

As far as I know she can only equip machinegun hands. --->

She uses quite a lot of different types from machine gun fingers to rifles to cannon to even cannon fists. The US artbook that came with the 1st copy of P3 and the Amazon.com exclusive P3 FES bundle has photos of the weapons. If I get time, I'll try and take a photo of mine. Not very easy to see the weapon sadly though.
If you wanna joke around a bit, give her a MegaBuster! xD

Thanks for the replies guys. I really appreciate it! I seriously can only find pictures of her original hand pistols and one really undetailed rifle pic - other than that, nada :(
Saburo - I can only imagine what her canon fists and MEGABUSTER look like lol. I think my friend is looking to do what looks the sexiest/ elegant, or the most badass but I doubt you can get get that from finger guns...wished Aigis carried a katana =\
Besides that, I can't believe the perfect guide doesn't have any pics. I would have stuck with the bundle if I could reverse time. If you can hook up any pics, that would great. I will try to hunt for the artbook at GameSpot. Maybe I might have to dish out $$ just for a simple pic. Let me know, thanks.

None of these look good. At all.
Except for the one where Junpei is standing with Minato. That Junpei is actually good. And the second Aigis, where she got her school uniform. The first one is awful. Also, that Ken is hilariously retarded. I mean, LOOK AT IT! And everything else is bad.

I don't want to go too far, because last time I ranted about bad cosplay it got be a week's ban from another forum.

What forum was that? I've been to a couple of forums like that, which'll ban you for being too honest with your opinions, like saying that you don't like something that all of the other people on the forum likes. They didn't really realize what purpose forums serves (discussion, right), but sadly I only managed to get a warning or two before the place got shut down for some reason.

It was the Jrock Revolution. A discussion was going on about...larger people doing cosplay, and I ended up ranting.
And I stand by my statement. Don't cosplay if you don't have the body for the character. Shiki from The World Ends With You isn't the size of a small elephant.

I started reading this thread, because I wanted to learn more about Cosplay. While I have no personal interest in doing it, I can still appreciate all the hard work that goes into the costume design. My question is, why aren’t they are judged only by the detail of the costume?…
Is it really fair to say they are too ugly or too fat to be that character?

Junbei, if you are going to try and make a weapon for Aegis, I'd just suggest going with the machine gun hands. Just make gloves with silver tipped fingers and get large silver wristbands and throw a short and wide cylinder on the bottoms of them. Aegis doesn't need weapons.
And as for everyone who is hating on fat people, I would disagree with you but I really can't. The only thing I have to say is that there are some larger people who actually can pull off costumes, but most don't seem to realize how. The picture that always comes to mind is the one with Tifa and Aeris with "Final Fat-ass-y" on the bottom.
I know that I'm fat, but at least I thought that I did decent as the medic. Then again, the medic also has loose clothing as well.

What boggles my mind is why a heavy-set women would want to dress up as an anorexic, scantily-clad anime character for anyways.
I don't see the logic behind it. Must have more self-esteem then I could ever imagine.
Fatney
02-28-2009, 01:23 AM
Yeah, it's not like I hate fat people. I agree with Haseo. And they seem to work very hard with some of the costumes, why won't they also work hard with their body so they will look even more like the character they are cosplaying? Ok, that was a joke, but still.
I agree with Haseo, people should cosplay the characters that better fit them, but it is a reality that there're just few that are fat and/or ugly (according to our society's beauty pattern).
I also found some pictures of an awesome Mitsuru cosplay in animevice.com (http://api.animevice.com/mitsuru-kirijo/18-22820/cosplay/84-35990/mitsuru_kirijou_7/83-24721/).

I'll have to disagree with what you guys are saying. I've cosplayed for a while but have only done things that suited me best. I also used cosplay and conventions to fuel my workouts and ultimately stay fit and healthy. I've been on the bandwagon - talked smack about all the chubs in revealing costumes. Why don't these overweight cosplayers drop the lbs? Who cares, really.
Maybe you guys aren't the type that go to these conventions but when you meet some of these hardcore cosplayers, they don't give a crap about what others think. To me, those people have the biggest balls ever. Then again, being a cosplayer, I judge their costumes more than what they're born with. All the hours and sweat, you'd have to try it to understand.
I'm not gonna give any sentimental bull#### here. I love hot chicks and hot chicks in cosplay. But midgets, bald-chemo kid, butter face, obese or whatever, if they're doing what they love, who am I to cut them down?
Still looking for pics of Aigis' other weapons...

I don't really care much for fat cosplayers either. I'm brown (i.e.: Indian) and I intend to cosplay as Minato...who is easily the palest character in P3. Me not having the right skin tone is like not having the right body type, but I do it because I enjoy it.
^I can't find anymore pictures. Looks like your gonna have to use screen caps :(

Uh, wow... A female Akihiko... Too bad she can't cover up that she's female...
Regarding on what you all discuss up there, I'd like to say that: It's better if your body is proportional to the character you're cosplaying, so that it'll look much more alike, but if it's not, then at least you enjoyed your work...
Ugh... I wanted to cosplay as Naoto... (I know this is off topic since we're talking about P3) She's versatile, both boys and girls can cosplayed as her...

My friend cosplayed main character from P4 not that long ago.. he was only so-so. I haven't gotten around to doing a Persona cosplay yet, but I'd love to do Naoto, even though I'm "a little more than average, but not obese either". But I'm doing Dissidia Squall this year for Oni-Con... (only version I haven't done. ;) ) I like to cosplay characters I look like... My Opera (Star Ocean 2) cosplay was a little difficult because she's blonde-- I was born blonde but turned brunette-- I'm an ugly blonde. lmao
I also grew my hair out just for Aerith which I cosplay often, but I'm getting it cut in January. I did Vincent once, too. I really want to cosplay Lynx from Chrono Cross and Rei from Evangelion (Pinky St. Vers).

I find it really hard not to judge, somethings on screen look way better than in life. And I've seen slender people look terrible cosplayed. In the end, it's just fun, it's like a rave, you can't judge, you just have to let go and have fun.

09-01-2009, 10:29 AM
Wow, to the people against the fat cosplay, did you ever stop to wonder why they're cosplaying? They do it for their own fun and enjoyment, not so people like you can gawk at them and be all "OMGZ HAWTZ!", there are more than enough pictures of women on the internet for those purposes.
You've probably never associated yourself with cosplayers before, but its a general rule among those who cosplay for the fun of it: cosplay as a character you like, not as a character you look good as.
It's like Tello, the Hark! said "In the end, it's just fun, it's like a rave, you can't judge, you just have to let go and have fun."
And junbei, I agree with you as well.

I've never been a fan of cosplaying (TBH, it kind of creeps me out), but if you enjoy it, I don't see anything wrong with it (and I've seen a few really, really good cosplaying that I did think was pretty impressive).
I'm just posting to say that P3 would probably be one of the more amusing cosplay themes--passersby who didn't know the game would wonder what the hell all these dressed-up people are doing pointing fake guns at their own heads. :)
