How old are you anyway?

18.

I'm surprised at the number of older users.

How old are you anyway?
Almost 5 in dog years.

Edit: As pointed out below, I divided while normally people multiply. A 4- to 5-yr-old dog is about equivalent to my age, 33.

Kakizaki

I'm surprised at the number of older users.

Why? Some of us have been following Atlus, both USA and JP, for quite a while.

Dirjel
10-14-2008, 10:39 AM
^Why? Some of us have been Atlus fans for a while, and not just Atlus USA either.

I assume you meant me, not the guy who gave his age in dog years.

It has nothing to do with Atlus, it's just always surprising to see lots of older users on internet forums.

Don't get me wrong, I hope to one day be an "older user" on an internet forum myself.

Kakizaki
10-14-2008, 10:41 AM
Before the recent board switch, I would've said we were actually a little more top heavy towards the 25-35 age group than with those under 20.

sora4126
10-14-2008, 10:43 AM
That's kinda awesome. I'm getting sick of these forums that all these annoying 12 year olds join and ruin everything. *cough* gaia *cough*

Dirjel
10-14-2008, 10:44 AM
That's cool. It seems that when you have more older users on, there is less trolling and stuff.

Kakizaki
10-14-2008, 10:47 AM
^Mmmm, I don't know. I think that is where some of our trolling originated. Not necessarily from the older users, but because of differences. For instance, I get kind of tired of some of the more sappy silliness I see around here. Granted I feel it is totally harmless, but it makes the forums less interesting to read to me -- imo, while the nature is totally different, it is as annoying to me as flaming / trolling is. In the past I can assure you one of us may have said something harsh.

Dirjel

Don't get me wrong, I hope to one day be an "older user" on an internet forum myself.
Older users who have become adept in the art of politicking through years of refinement on videogame message boards quite often apply those skills in their campaigns for state and national elected office, where they can pull down tons of money in donations for similar behavior. So who knows, you may move on to bigger and better (?) things.

No, not "in here" literally -- just a few threads around the boards. And no, nothing harsh in regards to your previous post. I was just using a general example. Some of the intro threads get a little too "fruity" for my tastes as a poster.

And no, not necessarily Sayck. When I say harsh, I don't automatically mean flaming. Someone could just be blunt. I'm not saying it was a good thing, but I was just explaining why the mix of older users and young users sometimes clashed.

Zephyr
10-14-2008, 11:46 AM
22. It's a little interesting to see the distribution of ages here (sociology major... heh...). Every forum seems to have its own character, and the age of the average poster often seems to be related to that.

Yeah, the poll is anonymous so that you can add to the bell curve without saying publicly. There were some comments in another thread about who's an old timer here, so I was curious to see the latest distribution.

While it may be a true statement that I'm a stalker (you've all been warned...) I'm certainly not over 40 yet. So the logic used to arrive at that connection is a failure.

Also, 33. And yes I'm balding/grey.

Also, Also, couldn't agree more about the rampant peace, love, and brotherhood stuff Kaki. It's kind of the reason I spend far less time here.

While the boards previous to change could get pretty childish, there was an intelligence to the wit and reparte bantered back and forth that I find myself missing more and more. Lately, everything here kind of seems hollow and/or shallow. Harmless? Yes. Boring? Absolutely.

I would suggest that in the future you would take the time to read someone's comments more carefully before attempting to call them out. While it is a new "era" here in regards to acceptance, that doesn't excuse direct attacks no matter how subtle they may appear.

17 is a child (technically, yes) but not "young children" like the dictionary says. Come on, you mature adults of all the people should already know what does the word pedophile mean. Unless you guys really going to try to go against everything I say over such a trivial thing, then I give up. Like what Kakizaki said, this thread is already going at a bad direction.

^ You're not old really. imo anyway. And I'm glad someone's here who's over 40 so I don't have to recruit my 40+ friends to come here and annoy that Ein kid. (In the first page he said "Thank god there's no one over 40 here" So go and annoy him.)

That's pretty mature from your part :p. Anyway, I've just turned 18.
