I loved the original Dragon Force for sega saturn. It was brought over to the states by what I deem to be the predecessor to Atlus (Working Designs). Unfortunately the system went out of production shortly after and the game became difficult to find.

It was a fantastic game and is extremely rare and still popular. At any given time you can search for it on ebay and see copies selling for $60 - $149 which is well over the original launch price.

I am pretty sure there was a second Dragon Force that never made it to the states. Either of these would be fantastic. I recently purchased Yggdra Union for psp and it has a very similar feel to it. I am hoping it sells well and will perhaps encourage Atlus to localize similar games.

Atlus USA doesn't develop titles. They only localize and publish them in North America. Dragon Force PSP would have to be developed by someone else first.

Like he said, regardless of the fact that I like the idea.

Kaki, have you played Dragon Force? If so, any good? I've been seeing it pop up on eBay and been wanting to purchase it.

It is good, but it is waaay too easy to spam attack patterns. There was a technique I used all of the time switching back and forth between formations to crush enemies.

Well, it is easy. But to be honest, that didn't decrease the fun for me. Hell, you could beat most enemies using a defensive formation in standby and timing your special attacks well.

Only complaint is the voice acting was awful even for that time. I found the rest of the game addictive beyond belief.

Edit: Oh and mages and dragons are way overpowered units. Given thirty mages I could wipe out most enemies with ease.

I would love to play the Sega Ages PS2 remake of this game.

alright well if not the psp since as you said it has to be made for the system first... why not localize the remake of it for PS2
