Hey, guys; I just wanted to thank everyone who helped localize the game (New Blood)--you did a fantastic job! Of course, I can't leave out Atlus over in Japan for making this wonderful gem of a game :D
My best friend and I have been playing this game since I bought it on day one, but only beat it today (Yeah, it took a while...); the reason for that is because she moved and we only hang out once in a while now, and when we did play the game, we got our asses handed to us, haha...but we loved every second! :D
Anyway, this game was an amazing co-op experience and I truly wish to experience it again in a new Wii title...:D Not just that, but the combination of beautiful art and great music made it even greater.
The challenge on normal mode was incredible--and even though my friend and I were getting our asses handed to us on a pladder, we persevered because just something about this game made you think "Arghhh! All right, we'll get it next time for sure! >=D" only to lose again, etc. It's almost the same feeling I got with Elite Beat Agents.
It was fun just talking about what we should do when a certain something comes up--strategizing, I guess. It was also cool how we would get worked up and scream "Vitals!" or something to signal that one of us needed to take care of vitals while the other focused on something else, even after hearing it from characters :D Our teamwork was a bag of good times, haha.
After we finished the final stage (Even through all the commotion, we both commented how incredibly awesome the music was!), watched the epilogue and watched the credits, we said, "Holy crap! I can't believe we beat it!" and transitioned into a high-five :D We then discovered we unlocked extra features, were ecstatic...but decided to leave them for another time because we had been playing for hours...mostly replaying the mission we were stuck on >_> It's cool that we got maybe two or three S rankings, though! We were very proud of that :)
Yeah, long post is long, but I'm not done yet! :D I want to give a few more--albeit brief--thoughts for the future of the series (a sort of expansion to the survey you guys sent out).
For a Trauma Center Under the Knife 3 (Still on DS, of course), it would be interesting to have wireless multiplayer a la Kirby Super Star Ultra. That would be awesome. Online multiplayer would be pretty sweet as well =O
As for the series on Wii, I say push those to the extreme! AMAZING. WII GAMES. Multiplayer definitely needs to become a staple for the series on the Wii, since it could bring people together. Not to mention there could be some sort of mode for 8-player missions--Wiimotes and GameCube controllers! The GC controllers should control only the enemy--whatever strain we face in that certain game, just not the surgeons. Also, incorporation of the Wi-Fi Connection would be cool so friends can play the whole game if they can't get together often...:(
All right, I'm done! It's back to playing the original TC which I left because I couldn't get past a certain mission...I think I'm almost done, though, since I'm pretty far in. Then it's off to play TC2, which is just sitting there :P
I LOVE YOU ATLUS [USA].

All right, so at this point I guess I'm talking to myself...but in the case that Atlus USA does some recon on the boards, here are some more of my thoughts!
All right, so, regarding my previous thoughts on wireless multiplayer for a future DS release: I'm an idiot! I didn't take into account the other player not being able to see you on his screen unless you were actually doing something on yours! GAH! Epic fail on my part :( Coordination would be difficult if this were the case...but we can't dismiss it as an impossible option! How about Atlus develops a specialized stylus just for the game or something!? Something that would let us see our partner's (and our own) reticle; magnet in a stylus, perhaps? Or would that mess up the DS's screen? (not privy on this).
I'm adamant about at least SOME online functionality, even if it's just leaderboards--but that's too simple! What if Atlus incorporated a "Save Operation Replay" function and let us upload those replays through the WiFi Connection to send as ghosts--you know, so people can try and beat our score (Somewhat similar to what Mario Kart did). Not to mention, I'd sure like to see replays of operations I thought I did a good job on.
OR! What if there was a "Versus" mode where you could fight your friend for the fastest time on an operation, or some variation; yes, variation would be good, so it may not even have to be limited to just fastest operation speed...maybe, who could kill a patient faster!? Or one of the players (Maybe as GUILT or something!) trying to jeopardize the other's operation!
Since I think of the TC series as a bizarre genre of puzzle, maybe you could do something for a versus mode, a la puzzle games--you know, sending a whole bunch of crap to the other player's screen; only, in this case, it would be pools of blood, tumors, lacerations, and the wildcards could be a strain of GUILT! Of course, in this case, the "puzzle blocks" would be the usual anomalies, etc--or what ever else R&D can think of!
Any of the above could work online, I would think...and if not on DS, then Wii :D (Although, to be honest, I'm not sure system strength matters since they connect to the same server or whatever...right? This is something else I lack knowledge in, so if someone could educate me on the subject...).
*double-checks post*
Hmm...I think for the time being I am done nerdgasming over the glorious possibilities. So, I take my leave for now...until the next rant! :D Look forward to seeing one soon, I hope! :D

Dude, that'd be awesome! Kinda like in Tetris and stuff, except surgery.

Exactly! :D
By now we all know New Blood is the best in the series since it inspired greatly what one would see quite a bit in Trauma Center 2, like the operations. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that in my book, for obvious reasons. However...
I think TC2 could have definitely been a much better game than it already was if it had been able to squeeze some new styles of operations in--maybe even removing some from New Blood (while adding more, obviously) to feel more standalone, for lack of a better word/term.
One of the new things I personally liked was only used ONCE in the main story, and that was the use of the mic. It totally came from left field, but I liked it because it was spaced out reasonably well--and I know the inclusion of mic usage in DS games is an ambivalent thing to some DS owners, but like I said, it worked really well.
Aside from that, I don't recall anything that was majorly brand new to the series: staples like an operation with turbulence were present (pretty cool one, by the way :D); being captured and having todo an "operation"; a genetics puzzle, etc. To clarify, by listing this I'm not complaining, just noting a pattern I see in the series (which I don't mind, since they vary by many things).
Of course, I can bark that "I'd like to see some new things," but to be honest, I can't think of jack ####. If I knew even the slightest of things done for operation procedures, I'd gladly list some...but I don't; I've failed you, Discovery Health =( I'll definitely look some up, though, now that I'm coming this far.
Moving on, I'd like to discuss possibilities for story progression.
Being a fan of the Fire Emblem series, I think this game could definitely work with the tension of permadeath. Of course, since TC is slightly more difficult for different reasons, this could be an impossibility--not including the fact that a lot of the characters actually matter...and if we lose minor NPCs, like, say, an operative, we won't feel that pang of "Nooo! Better reset!" But I bet it'd make for a great brainstorm :D I really thought of this after the whole Emilio dying thing, since Derek took it hard enough that it affected his ability to use the Healing Touch, which I thought was a pretty interesting part of the game, sans Derek's bitching. (Yeah, I know he lost a patient, but still >_>)
This also brings me to my next point: branching paths. The way TC's missions have been structured is nice, but it would be cool to see alternate paths, and when you beat the game, you could go back and try for the other paths. This branching doesn't necessarily have to impact the story, being more like easier X missions in disguise or close to that effect. Going back to Fire Emblem a bit, (FE7), if you met certain requirements in a mission, you could opt to partake in a sub-mission, and these usually were a nice chunk of background info on some characters.
TC's Bonuses could be used as these requirements and not just to boost a score. Maybe.
We're nearing the end of this post....
Let's see...Wii/DS connectivity. Wouldn't it be possible to use it as a means of even further unlockable content? Say, character portaits...and maybe some operations between the newer TC titles. Or something. Hmmm...outta gas on this one for the moment...
Speaking of unlockable content, Sound Test should be a definite "Yes" in the future :D I love those things.
Tetris Party for WiiWare made me want a TC on WiiWare...>_> Maybe this and Wii/DS connectivity for a future post...
Phew. Done for now.

Okay, I lied :D Just one more tiny, irrelevant rant-like thing concerning Emilio from TC2: At first I was like, ":o" that there was a Mexican. I thought, "Wow, that's pretty damn cool! I can't wait to see what he looks like!" His portrait comes up...and he doesn't look Mexican at all [in my eyes] :P I got over it and thought, "Well, you don't see too many of those in games, so I'll take it!" :D...and then he dies  I only laughed after the shock that someone actually died, accompanied by an interesting bloody/inverted picture...it was pretty intense.

lol I so agree, it's like in New Blood when that black doctor guy had a gallbladder problem. My first reaction was, "Maybe if he didn't have so much fried chicken..."

I got my female cousin hooked on the game.
She's one of those that thinks gaming is for kids and any man that plays games is just a big kid. But I showed her, I got her Trauma Center (since she's going to medical school) and now she's hooked on it haha.

Awesome!
I'm actually going up to visit my oldest sister on Thursday, and I plan on taking my Wii and introducing her to New Blood so we can play. I hope she enjoys it :D

Which one? If it's Second Opinion, make sure she sees the ending that says "If you're a real doctor, don't tell your patients how many times it took you to beat a game about surgery.".

Brother! I demand you share your thoughts on the series by telling us what you like, would like to see, and the like. Come on, I can't be the only one that wants to give Atlus some input!
sora4126
10-15-2008, 10:54 AM
K fine.
So, I like the idea of co-op doctor play. However, it could be cool on Wi-fi as well. Then have after you beat the game once you unlock "Combat Surgery" mode. Which, like Brother said before, you compete and see who does the surgeries better. Then like tetris, if someone does well, the other person gets... I dunno a tumor or two to deal with.
Something else I think would be awesome is some giant worldwide epidemic that Stiles, Vaughn, Blaylock, and some fourth doctor would have to deal with together. And no I don't mean 4 player surgery 'cause that'd just make everyone hate each other and get in each other's way. But... I dunno, just something of epic proportions like that, which would be a good way to introduce the wifi co-op.
dragonlife29
10-15-2008, 04:19 PM
Yeah, an amalgamation of all the doctors would be pretty cool, but I'd rather see just the events between the main/minor characters we know of at this point.
I would love to play as a younger Hoffman so I can find out for myself who he failed to save, but we're probably not meant to know because it's not meant to be important...but it would be nice.
If anything, I'd like a new game with a new strain to fight :D (Pretty much all TCs).
...I'm probably in the minority, but I like Markus, Valerie, and Elena over Derek and Angie...>_> That's not to say I don't like them, of course...I just found the trio more interesting.
The end of TC2 also left me with a "Great...>_>" feeling because--even though I knew it was going to happen eventually--it was made official that Derek and Angie became lovers Heh...here's hoping that for the next one they give us the middle finger and say Surprise! Angie's not Derek's lover LOOOOOOOOL! We didn't specify!
sora4126
10-15-2008, 04:22 PM
Yeah, would be interesting if Derek did go with that crazy big titted chick from Under the Knife 2 I liked Second Opinion Derek and Angie, then they kind of ruined them in New Blood and Under the Knife 2, so you're not in a complete minority.
Watch the new Trauma Center have Post Stigma Syndrome as the main strain. XD That'd be a buzz kill.
dragonlife29
10-15-2008, 04:33 PM
I'll agree with TC2, but New Blood? They were in there for like, two seconds! XD They only talked about the crisis at hand, so that's not really murdering their personality.
...I much preferred Heather =( Damn you, Dr. Stiles!
So much hate towards Angie on my part, it seems...:P
sora4126
10-15-2008, 05:54 PM
Those two seconds made a lot of difference to me! And a lot can die in two seconds, like my admiration of Dr Stiles.
Heather... she's the first nurse in SO, right? She seemed too motherly to me, which gets kind of annoying to me.
dragonlife29
10-15-2008, 06:16 PM
I guess. But what was up with the different-colored hair on him? O_o He also had a stubble which, for some reason, made him seem effeminate o_O No more facial hair on Stiles, please!
No, man--Heather's the chick with the crimson (?) eyes in TC2, from Elysium.
sora4126
10-15-2008, 06:22 PM
Ohhhh yeah, Heather was pretty awesome.
And yeah, they changed him too much, and his stubble made him look like some kind of predator...
dragonlife29
10-15-2008, 06:46 PM
A predator? That's a new one :P When I saw him, I did think of this, though: http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b189/dragonlife29/avatar.gif
I enjoy everyone's facelift from the original DS one to TC2 (And I guess SO), except Derek. I thought he looked great in the original...I don't think his design works very well in the new ones--but that's just me. I liked Angie's in the original, too...but I don't mind her look as much as Derek's. I don't know...there's just something about it...

That picture actually personifies it in every way possible.
And yeah, Derek's design's the only one they completely raped, threw in a vat of ugly, then put his normal clothes back on. Angie did slightly change, in UTK2, but in NB she looked like she has grandchildren.

sora4126
10-19-2008, 07:02 PM
No, you're right. I just figured he was in Japan working on something way after the GUILT thing since it was about 10 years between SO and NB. It is one of those things that need to be explained. Atlus, explain, now!!

Oh, theory!! Maybe he's married to Nazumi (I forget how to spell her name, that cool Japanese doctor in SO) So he transfers to Japan to be with her.
That's always possible, except I'm not sure how Angie would feel about it.

That's always possible, except I'm not sure how Angie would feel about it.XD I don't think Derek has it in him to have an affair =O Speaking of Nozomi, I spoiled SO for myself a year back because I was sure I'd never buy it (for some reason), but Nozomi is part of Delphi, right? Luckily, I'm not sure, but I think so, so don't go telling me anything! XD
EDIT: As of now, we're 111 posts apart =O
sora4126
10-19-2008, 08:26 PM
I'm tempted to tell you, but yeah, I'll wait til you beat SO.
And yeah, these TC posts are gonna make us have higher post counts than anyone else on the forums. XD
dragonlife29
10-19-2008, 08:36 PM
Maybe; but until we get new members that happen to like TC and come to this forum, we'll be all alone for quite a while...which isn't so bad :P
All right! How would you rank the final operation tracks in terms of awesomeness? Of course, they all rock...but which do you like best? For me:
Cardia II
Severing the Chains of Fate
Savato
I could go on about how much Cardia II rocks, to be honest XD The chanting at the beginning...*screams like a Japanese schoolgirl* SO AWESOME. Not to mention the rhythm is orgasmically fast and awesome.
sora4126
10-19-2008, 08:55 PM
I say:
Cardia II
Vulnerability (SO Savato song)
Severing the Chains of Fate
You basically explained why I like Cardia II, so I'll go off on Vulnerability.
It's just awesome, I'm a sucker for piano and guitar together and this nails it like prostitute!!
Was pretty hard to choose though, they're all friggin amazing!!
And on that note, which final strain is your favorite to operate on. I would say mine, but I'm not done with UTK2 yet. XD If there's 7 chapters again, I should be done by tonight... or tomorrow.
dragonlife29
10-19-2008, 10:52 PM
Cardia II love! :D Atsushi Kitajo (composer) FTW!
Strain? Hmm...you know, I really liked Sige in TC2. It was so fun XD I really liked that I went crazy, blowing into the mic like crazy and using the stabilizer at the same time XD
Tell me yours!
So, what system do you prefer the TC series on?
sora4126
10-19-2008, 11:08 PM
I'll get back to you once I beat UTK2. XD
I do better on the Wii versions, so I like those more.
dragonlife29
10-19-2008, 11:18 PM
Yeah, I like the series on the Wii more, too. Though, I do like it on the DS as well.
Oh! What's your favorite "operation briefing" track? For me it's definitely the remix of Under the Knife's in NB...so awesome...!!! But, for the "normal" ones, I'd say...maybe TC2's, since it sounds a little more...heavy.
sora4126
10-19-2008, 11:27 PM
I say that song Warning in NB. Especially when it plays before the final surgery. Adds to the epicness of it all.
dragonlife29
10-19-2008, 11:33 PM
I completely forgot about that one XD
Let's see...what other questions can we draw out?
sora4126
10-19-2008, 11:35 PM
This is gonna be all obvious. If you could date ANY TC character, guy or girl. I'm bi, so it's all good with me. Who would you prefer to date?
I'd go with Dr Stiles 'cause his being sensitive would balance out my bitchiness. XD And imagine what he could do with that HT. XD
dragonlife29
10-19-2008, 11:44 PM
...Not the direction I was aiming for, but all right--I'll bite
Markus, of course...>_> That said, he only looks good at an angle =( Why do his other angles make him look ugly/old/cranky? WHY!?
What!? You would go with Derek!? Well, seeing as how you're bi, I guess you win since he looks more woman than man :P
sora4126
10-19-2008, 11:51 PM
Chya, his angry face has to be the funniest thing in the game.
And so what Derek's kinda feminine, he's still pretty awesome... or at least back in SO he was.
dragonlife29
10-20-2008, 12:00 AM

So, do you prefer dudes over chicks?
Anyway, here's another question! What is your favorite strain-fighting music? (Final operations don't count) For me, it's definitely a tie between Confronting the Menace and Encroaching Shadows from TC2.
sora4126
10-20-2008, 12:04 AM
I really like Vitals Critcal! In New Blood. Definitely sets my mind in the "Oh ####, gotta work harder!"
And yeah, I don't prefer one over the other. I'm VERY picky with who I'd actually wanna be with, why there's only one person I've had my eye on... Anyway, getting offtopic, if you wanna know more, just message me.
K so next question. Which of the nurses would you rather have be your nurse if you were a doctor? I'd want Angie from UTK2. She knew to not overtalk and was straight to business.
dragonlife29
10-20-2008, 12:19 AM
I'd take Heather because she is awesome, not annoying, and easy on the ears :D
sora4126

All right, since this was my original spot for releasing certain things (Ideas, for one), I'll go ahead and post this here:
I wonder if there's any tools that can be added [on the Wii]? Since the tools are meant to be easily accessed with the eight-way of the Nunchuck, maybe there can be more tools (if any more can deemed "worthy" of being included, since the games are just fine with the current ones), and we could just easily swap to a new tool wheel with a press of the C button! We never use it, anyway. Of course, the wheels have to overlap each other so we have as much "operating room" on the screen as possible.
sora4126
10-29-2008, 11:58 AM
The Mario Kart Wii steering wheel!! XD
Anyway, yeah that could be interesting. I wouldn't mind seeing some functionality for the microphone. Something along the lines of... I dunno like, you have to say certain things to the nurse or something. Pain meds kill my creativity. XD
dragonlife29
10-29-2008, 12:02 PM
The MK Wheel...? >_>
You can't use the Wii speaker interactively like the DS microphone, though O_o (or did you get confused? XD) I think the most use it saw in TC was in SO, when you would press A on the story sequences.
sora4126
10-29-2008, 12:03 PM
Yeah, only game in general I've seen it get use is TP.
But when the microphone comes out hopefully that'll change.
dragonlife29
10-31-2008, 01:04 PM
Thinking on it, I really, really want a "save replay" feature, a la Brawl, where you have the option to save it on an SD card or the Wii's [crappy] internal memory; only, I hope they're easy to put on your computer, unlike Brawl's, so people can YouTube them or something, since I doubt Atlus would be willing to have a WiiConnect24 service with the game...but I do enjoy being wrong! =)
dragonlife29
10-31-2008, 05:18 PM
So, on this playthrough I'm skipping the storyline (since it's still fresh in my mind), but here and there I hear Markus's voice...
And I want to thank whoever cast the guy that voiced him! You are awesome, and I love you! God, it's so perfect!
Creepy time! I have a thing for voices (a subject I find interesting, for some reason--but that's not the creepy part), so when Markus speaks it's like he radiates this heat wave that wants to melt my clothes away! Basically, his voice is freakin' hot...is what I want to say.
Fetish? Nah--just eargasms every time I hear his voice...!!! So godly <3
sora4126
10-31-2008, 07:20 PM
lol I know how you feel about eargasms. It happens with that guy I was kinda telling you about before.
When you said that I couldn't help but hear Vaughn say "Now... before the operation... you must take ALL your clothes off." Even though that'd be Elena's job. XD
And yeah that would be awesome to get videos from Wii to Computer easily.

You know, I never anticipated the activity the TC section has gotten by just the two of us XD I thought I'd just make this thread and wait until it was to be forgotten =(
But yay--I was wrong! Of course, it's probably a bit of a chore to read for our Overlords for just that info they want--but at least it's somewhat entertaining =O
I may just sift through all the fan liquids (you know the one) we've produced and edit my first posts for easily digestible information.
sora4126
11-01-2008, 08:40 PM
Yeah seriously, we're dominating the Trauma Center forums. XD I wonder if the Overlords even look in here. I can see some of 'em being like "Oh... it's just that sora kid and dragonlife29... *skip*"
Hopefully if they do look through here they find it as amusing as we do. XD
So another idea I thought up while doing Psych homework, customize a doctor, like have a one voice for every male you make, and another voice for every woman you make, then you can choose which of the known HTs you'll get to use, 'cause I love Kimishima's healing touch and hope she isn't the only one with that kind.

Hmm, well I do think Yu might be THE one, but it is too hard too tell...
Ah well, let's just hope something cool happens in the next TC. :D

All I know is that I want the next one to be for the Wii...specifically, a sequel to NB...I don't want more Derek/Angie bull XD
Something cool, you say? Here's the e-mail I'm prepping for Atlus Japan:
Dr. Kimishima has an affair with Dr. Stiles, resulting in a child. Angie, being the useless love interest that she is, commits suicide by driving off a cliff because she knew she'd never be as cool as Dr. Kimishima. (She didn't die instantly). You see, Angie and Derek's cameo in NB was just a deliberate lie--it's not canon, BECAUSE ANGIE NEVER EXISTED; SHE WAS DEAD!
Now, since Dr. Stiles isn't a real man, Dr. Kimishima went in search for a one Markus Vaughn--a real man, basically. (OMNOMNOM). Of course, the sexual tension between Blaylock and Vaughn was so strong that Kimishima backed off and lived happily ever after.
Derek killed himself over Angie's death, BTW, and his son was left with Heather Ross, who felt sorry for the kid because his dad was Derek.
Basically, Derek and Angie die, and that's where the next one would work out to! =O
In other words, no more Derek and Angie for a while >_>
That's it! That's the *e-mail I'm sending to Atlus Japan. Pretty damn awesome, right? They'll go nuts, thinking, "Why did we never think of this!?"
*Obviously I'm BSing about such an e-mail existing :P

I can see you doing something like that.
It would make for an interesting twist in the 3rd one. Vaughn and Blaylock find out the Derek and Angie they saw was a hologram of how they looked before they died given to them by the new group with the new strain threatening humanity... oddly that would be freaking awesome!!

You don't think I was being serious, right? XD
There was a plot hole in that "story" of mine, anyway XD A potential one, at least.
Christ...I'm such a nerd, but what else do you think they could use for a strain? :D Specifically, what would they be called? They'd definitely have to be Greek-inspired :P

I know you were kidding, but my mind still went off on a tangent about what else could happen.
Maybe like, some ultimate head guy who calls himself Zeus, and names his strains after greek myth monsters; Hydra (some strain where you need to drain lots of water out of the patient and the thing itself is this funky kinda slithery thing that... I dunno what else it would do. XD)
And I forget what that one monster was called that no matter how many heads you cut off, it'd grow back with more. But that would make a cool virus, you keep lasering it, then more and more appear then you have to do something cool... prolly would make a better final surgery.

Have you looked up what the GUILT names meant? I was like, =O I don't think I've checked for Stigma, though.

I thought Hydra was seperate from that. I know in The Odyssey the one I don't know the name of was in it... it was in that part where they either go past that or a whirlpool on their boat...
Anyway, I've never looked up what the names meant, I should do that when I get caught up on homework.

This page has the most variation of posters so far in this area! =O I'm sure sora and I love that it's just the two of us, but more people wouldn't hurt :P Hopefully they'd be as crazy about the games, too...but I think we win for "crazy" XD

As weird as that is, I approve.
And, I know I'm willing to spread the love to other Trauma Center fanatics!

Yeah seriously, we're dominating the Trauma Center forums. XD I wonder if the Overlords even look in here. I can see some of 'em being like "Oh... it's just that sora kid and dragonlife29... *skip*"
I do at least, and I have to admit, I am getting pretty creeped out by both of you. No I'm not joking.

I'd honestly say the creepy factor is considerably less than the excitement factor (but they're both somewhat high sometimes--especially from me); though, I guess they can go hand-in-hand (again, from me).
Heh...don't worry, we shall continue--I've yet to XS TC2, after all!
That said, I do want the discussion to remain TC related, so we'll acknowledge we can potentially creep some people out (and entertain some--you never know) and end that discussion there. (We only keep it here, anyway--for the most part)

Chya, until more people come in here to talk with us about TC, there will always be creepy in here!
And I don't know if I'm ever gonna take the time to even pretend I'm gonna XS UTK2... well any of the DS ones, they're way harder.
