I must agree with some of you - this does remind me of Monster Hunter. :p However, Monster Hunter is a great series, and this seems cool as well. And the graphics? On the DS? Check out the trailer.

I haven't played any of the Phantasy Star games since 4, but that doesn't look much like Phantasy Star at all.

Heh, I'm looking forward to this one. I don't really mind the character design change, since I totally missed the PSO boat. Granted those designs were cool, but whatever. I've just wanted a co-op hack n' slash game with online play on the DS since like... forever. :V

Character designs may not be "the same," but I'm actually just fine with Toshiyuki Kubooka doing his thing with the game. I kinda like his style anyway, so whatever.

More importantly, the game itself sounds impressive. I'll definitely be after this one...

I loved PSO (back in the GC days, since I had no dreamcast ever), but it hasn't been the same for quite a while now. I would take another new PS if it were a PSO-style game actually done right, but I doubt that will ever happen.

My god amen. While I do have my share of love for PSO and a tiny, tiny bit for PSU; I love the classic series to death, I would love to see a Phantasy Star 5, but there is a problem in that being: spoiler so watch out (oh it is in white, since I don't really know how to do the spoiler thing correctly, sorry in advance. In the end of Phantasy Star IV, Dark Fals or however you want to say his name is clammed dead for good, so to do a Phantasy Star 5 they would either have to re-write 4, or have it set in a different universe, which would be sad. Now I know sure they brought him back in PSO and such, but its different for the most part I think. EDIT Whoops forgot to comment on the game itself, I really do hope it turns out to be a good PSO like game and they try to get away from a lot of the problems they had in PSU, though if they fix the problems in PSU that would work for me too, since after awhile a lot of neat stuff does show up in PSU.

I lost all interest in this series after PSIV. I'll still be looking at reviews and impressions, but the kiddie art style doesn't bode too well.
