Can you only get the Artbook bonus by preordering online? It's easier for me to preorder via the GameStop store, believe it or not. So, online only, or not?

From what I understand, you can preorder online or offline/irl to your choice. The difference is, it would seem, that the guarantee of you getting the preorder item online is much highre then getting it offline.
I also can't determine if you get the item as soon as they have it, or if you get the item at the same time as getting the game (when preordering at your local GameStop)

You can get the artbook from any of the participating retailers that are listed on the Atlus spoils page (http://www.atlus.com/deluxepackage.php). This is either online, or at your local store from what I understand.
I know a lot of people buying it at their local Gamestops, and they say that they're fairly sure that they'll get the artbook. You will get it as you pick up the game/receive it in the mail along with the game.

I know this is Atlus USA (and thus, it is only meant to provide support to US citizens), but is there any way for us europeans to get this preorder bonus?
Amazon doesnīt export videogames and gamestopīs shipping charges are brutal... They also request a fax with your latest credit card statement O_O.
Is there any chance that some import-friendly web site could offer this promotion?
I will import the game anyway (as I did with P3 FES) since it wonīt come out in europe, but that artbook looks great !!!
Sorry for my broken engrish ^_^
agreed with diosisback, we really need those pre-order bonus outside USA.

Sorry guys, it's not that we don't love our European fans, but we simply aren't publishers in Europe, and so have no means of offering bonuses where we don't sell games.
That said, while my knowledge of sites that import US games to Europe is nil, a quick search on a European forum turned up some positive feedback on this site:
http://www.videogamesplus.ca/product_info.php?products_id=14382
I suggest contacting them and seeing if they have what you want.

^ they're canadian and I can vouch for them (though the last time I ordered something from them was Ys 6 PS2!!!)
that said they still won't carry the art books.

Thank you very much for your replies !!!
Iīve just preordered P4 at cduniverse (since it is my favourite importing site) but Iīve also heard great things about videogamesplus. DVDboxoffice is another valid option (no problems with them).
Guess Iīll have to buy the japanese artbook (I had to do the same with P3) and be happy I can play Persona 4 before 2009 arrives... But not before I am through with Innocent Sin/Eternal Punishment, thanks to Gemini & co :D

Glad it worked out! Now please spread the word to your fellow Europeans. The more people take advantage of this, the better the chance that future bonuses will also be available to you guys. And in the end, that's what you really want, right? :)

It's involved in the laws for the areas and if people can find the right loopholes or something. Not entirely sure about it.
Anyway, I'm glad I'll get the artbook even though I pre-ordered in person. Mainly 'cause I'm still the only person at my gamestop whose preordered.

I got the following email from VGP
WE ARE EMAILING ALL CUSTOMERS TO INFORM YOU THAT ALL PRE-ORDERS FOR Eternal Poison, Persona 4 and Luminous 2 will receive a free art book. Offer good while supplies last. Also each copy of the game will include a soundtrack. ALL EXISTING PRE-ORDERS WILL ALREADY GET THIS OFFER. IF YOU HAVE NOT PRE-ORDERED YET BE SURE TO DO IT SOON AS THIS IS OFFER IS ONLY VALID ON PRE-ORDERS.
Too bad their prices SUCK. 70$ for old gamecube games and +5/10$ on MSRP for current games.
on the other hand they sound like a very reliable source for Euros to get their games from. some of their bargains aren't half-bad either, but they just need to get better prices all around.

Bad prices ?
Preordering Persona 4 + shipping cost me around 35 euros (PS3 games usually cost me 45 in other sites). In spain, brand new games usually cost 45 (ps2) or 70 (PS3) euros. How much does the average game cost where you live ?

Like $60 for new games (xbox 360, etc) in the United States. Which comes to about 43 Euros. For PS2 games, around $40 for new games (30 Euros).

Dios, I understand your predicament and I'm sure that VGP are your video game saviors right now, given that you'll be getting the preorder bonus for sure and that their shipping rate to euros seems decent. But for example, VGP has P4 for 45$ whereas amazon.ca has it for 36$ - 10$ coupon and free shipping. That's what I mean. I've also clearly stated that all of their games are at least 5$+ from MSRP.
as a CAG I cannot tolerate this!!!

I still refuse to pay 60$ for new games and I don't think I ever will. Most games will drop down by 20$+ if you just patiently wait a couple of months. I also have severe bargainbin-itis.

If it is a game that I eagerly expect, I just canīt wait... And if you add the preorder bonuses it only makes it worse XD.
In this case, I think it is worth for me paying 5-6 euros more. You are getting a good deal too, I hope you wonīt have any problems getting the spoils :)

Will Canadian retailers be giving artbooks with preorders? I talked to a clerk at a local EBgames but they weren't sure if they'd be getting any.

this has been discussed quite in detail already. EB games stores will get them. VideoGamesPlus.ca will get them. Amazon.ca is SAID to get them, I want to believe Atlus when they say they will, but until it appears on their website it's hard for me to believe it.

Sorry if this has been asked a million times before but has there been any confirmation about Amazon.ca getting the art book? The page still does not display it like it's American counterpart and there's only a month left until release.
Just want to make sure I can snag one before it's too late.

The page does display it now, as of a few days ago. Look toward the bottom.

What I've noticed is that Luminous Arc 2 and Eternal Poison still don't get the artbook mention, but Luminous Arc 2 does have a picture of the artbook as one of the "game pictures", just no actual text confirmation.
I ordered Luminous Arc 2 and Eternal Poison from Video Games Plus since I have heard good things about them. The Gamestop I go to never gets the preorder bonuses, and those artbooks look really good so I didn't want to miss getting them.
