so you're asking if an expensive mmorpg installment of a series that has only recently made a splash of any noticeable size in our waters is going to be translated to english, by a company with relatively little experience with online play, no less?
Seems perfectly reasonable.

They'll think about it when you resize your "avatar."

Looks like it could be coming, actually

Seems like Aeria games is picking up, or thinking about picking it up (otherwise people from the company wouldn't be posting about it, actually).
Translating foreign MMORPGs is quite the rage, these days, actually, lots and lots and lots of obscure ones make it over here. They probably don't make tons of money, but enough to stay afloat.

Learn Japanese, then maybe you can join some of the klans in the game like one of those chinese macca farm groups.

^ ridiculous. Atlus USA's domain is console games, not PC MMORPG (although that would have been an interesting prospect!) Let Aeria handle it, they have all of the infrastructure in place. Just be glad you can give it a shot. Anyone from the Atlus staff would probably tell you the same thing.

I cant help but wonder now how they will handle it. All the special events, all the seasonal event, updates, and CP items. Will we have different events? Will we get new quests and acts before or after the Japanese market? Will we get them at all? I doubt I'll be changing over from the Japanese servers any time soon though. Been playing it for over a year now and I kinda like it. Sure, cant play with most of the players but even if they cant understand more then a few words of english, it's surprising how many are willing to join a party or add you to their friends list.

Will we get a board for this, since it's SMT and released in the US, even though Atlus USA isn't responsible? It'd be awesome if we had a forum guild or something of the like.

We don't really need one right now, but it would be nice in the future.

Aeria seems experienced with MMOs, they have a bunch listed on their website

I'm well aware of Atlus' stance on things. It was a simple observation, that's all.

^ youtube is god for any video type...
anyways i think all of us should just make a guild when the game comes out in america
we would be the most informed and smartest guild i suppose since everyone here is on the forums and we get info for any new updates or stuff like that really quikly...and we could help each other out alot...GO TEAM ATLUS!!!

I am guessing this is "not" going to any consoles then. I had hoped since psn has a open network that it could have run on the ps3 as well as pc.

I was hoping an SMT MMORPG would help me get over my aversion to that genre, but no such luck. :frown: It's not that I can't dedicate myself to a game (I am an Atlus fan,) it's just that I have difficulty with them. I'd rather have a fulfilling story.
Or maybe just swag..

For one thing, I'm hoping that Atlus will bring the Shin Megami Tensei series to the PS3.. This game would rule on the PS3, plus I really miss my RPGS :( lol..
One can only play Valkryia Chronicles for so long:(

I have played games from that website before, and they do a good job with entertaining you. And it has been one week since I started playing, and I think it retains it's Shin Megami Tensei that all it's games keep... in fact, I think I'll start playing right now, see ya.

Don't feel bad. I have no patience for MMORPGs myself. I'm just too damned antisocial. Besides, SMT: Imagine is a Windows-only title, and I'm not going to desecrate my new Macbook by installing a non-Unix operating system. :)

I should force someone to get this for me, I hate my interwebs..
I didn't really like the game, but I'm deciding on giving it another chance. Who knows, maybe I'll like it this time around?

I didn't realize this thread was still going, but we have an entire forum (http://www.atlus.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=45) devoted to this game now.
