Well, all the spam has been deleted. But neither this one nor another spambot I caught at 4 AM the other night had any red flags in their profiles that prevented us from approving the accounts. Which means it's possible we might have to shut down new accounts entirely until we can implement a better solution for this. However, we're aware of how serious the issue is and fixing it is a higher priority now, so that should happen in about a week or so.

I really wish I knew. We've got Capcha filters and a human-verification question in order to register, so this goes beyond spambots.

I have now implemented a system that prevents new users from creating new topics until they have 5 posts under their belt. Whether this proves to be the final wall in getting the spamshops to give up and move on to greener pastures remains to be seen.
