Sega's making a new HotD for the Wii. And it's supposed to be reeeeaaaaallllly cheesy like those old B horror movies. I think it's looks cool. Plus... there's not much else coming to the Wii besides Madworld

I am interested
Awesome @ trailer. This looks great and I really liked the 2&3 port. Day one.
I hope it can use the extra accuracy thing, the gun in the ports was not as accurate as it could be.
I would be interested in this if it weren't a Wii game. The thing about the Wii, in this case, is that light-gun games are not light gun games. You don't actually point at the screen and shoot where it's pointed, you aim the wii-mote to move a cursor, which really ruins the experience, for me. I like doing wacky poses and being able to the point the gun off screen, easily. When you're not actually pointing and shooting exactly where you want, it's just not as fun.

^^Well, the developers said they'd be trying be able to calibrate the Wiimote to be accurate. But who knows how good it'll be. I do know what you're talking about, though, having played RE: Umbrella Chronicles.
But this brings up a question, has anybody tried to Nyko Perfect Shot? The white lightgun case thing for the Wiimote? It seems pretty good and definitely looks better that that stupid Wii Zapper.

I'm really hoping this'll be fun. I still wish they'd put House of the Dead 4 on a system, but I have the feeling this'll be good enough to replace it. Mind you, I haven't actually played 4 yet, but I'd still like to see it on a system.
Sooooo is anyone picking this up? reviews so far seem okay, with IGN and Eurogamer giving it an 8.3 and an 8 respectively http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/952482.asp
Apparently there is lots to do and its not too bad.
I would love a HOTD 4 on wii, too. I hope this will make good cooping for reading week. Not sure if I want Re5, the demo was just... I dunno. Movement is clunky and dunno if otter would get into split screen.

As much as this should be a day-one from my part, I think I will wait for a price drop. Is it OK to admit that my money's going to One(e)chanbara this week?
I'm actually between this and onechambara (either wii or xbox) but being D3 im sorta confident on a price drop. Haven't seen any reviews either.
Which is better, etc?

I only played one of the PS2 games and it was kinda so-so. I'm confident the Wii version is at least improved, and it's currently 30$...
actually I'm just going to wait for price drops on both. Atlus is hogging all of my day-one money.

So, does anybody know where I can get those hand cannons?

Sei, the game was mediocre. I'd suggest waiting for a price drop before picking it up. I'm pretty sure I complained about it on other threads, but I forgot completely about this thread, so...
The game is laggy, the swearing gets annoying despite being designed to be "over the top", the bosses are unimaginative in design and naming, the soundtrack would be good without the lyrics in the songs, and the game tends to freeze completely for some people (haven't had it happen to me).
On the plus side, the gameplay is fun when it isn't lagging, the dialogue is quite fun in some parts when it isn't overdone, the "grindhouse" feel really works, especially with the cut-scenes, and it's fun to try and go through the game to unlock everything.
Plus, I finally got the pre-order comic. It isn't anything to write home about, but it's still free.
It's a fun game, but definitely wait until it hits $20-$30 if you are worried in the slightest. I'd give it 2 months.
P.S.: Papa Caesar has one of my favorite monologues in gaming history.
Don't pick it up if you don't understand Grindhouse humor.
Thanks for the warning Delition! I played it at a friends place and I don't mind the writing. it's sorta short and didn't feel as tight as the other Hod's though. I wonder how different the stages are in director's cut mode, didn't have a chance to try that.

They don't really add anything to Director's Cut that is really worth it. They add about 15-30 seconds of gameplay to each level and added a cut-scene with the screamer, as far as I noticed. They should have just had the Director's Cut be the original mode and added something else on top of it. Also, it is irritating that the final unlockables in both HotD 2&3 and Overkill are single player experiences. Why not enhance the multi-player experience instead?
