View Full Version : The future of the news letter?

Hello Hello
11-20-2007, 09:43 AM
So, the new message boards have been up for a little while now, and no admin seems to have posted anything here. No hype of last month's letter, no topic which allows other users to submit questions, no anything.

I certainly hope the news letter hasn't been discontinued. That would make me sad, as I was fond of it.

Ditto. I just got to read it recently. It would suck if it stopped when I started.

I honestly don't think anyone is missing out on anything.

I think it told us stuff we already knew, but fun to gander at.

I agree, the newsletter was fun to look forward to. I wouldn't make a fuss if it's discontinued but I'd be pleased if it remains.

I never got to read it, because it a PDF and too big for me to download...

I liked the newsletter. I'd like to see the answers to some of our questions also, and I hope that a new question submission thread is started.

^Even though they only answered one question per month?

And the questions that were asked were terrible.

^Even though they only answered one question per month? Didn't they have a letter planned that was to answer all of our questions? One per forum-goer though, and as long as they can answer them.

That's what I thought at first, until they just did one. And there was no fine print.....

The point of the newsletter was to centralize any new news regarding the doings of Atlus USA from the past month, right...? Many questions get answered in the forums. I was under the impression that the news letter was intended to provide relevant news in a comical fashion which I found it did quite well.

Maybe it was a bit dull and needed some format re-thinking, but I still found it useful for use on other boards, and I surely hope we haven't seen the last of it since it was a good idea for keeping the Atlus USA fanbase hyped.

Also, it makes little sense to criticize it because it repeated things already seen in the forum, since even before the breakdown the userbase of this board weren't in any way near to the AU fanbase.

The Official Atlus Fan Newsletter is most certainly not going anywhere. We've got an end-of-year edition in the pipeline, and will try to continue to refine the newsletter until its something that you all enjoy. We're looking to improve the format and delivery (so that folks with slower internet connections don't have to spend a week trying to download it), and vastly improve our database so that more people can subscribe.

Please use this forum to throw out your ideas for what you would want in the newsletter, and we'll do our best to incorporate.

As for the trivia winner of the October issue, looks like we may have had a tie (or one question ambigious enough to give to both sides). We've been waiting to release the info in the next issue, so the prizes/recognition has been a smidge delayed, but it will happen shortly.

Stay tuned, Atlus Faithful.

I almost miss when the newsletters were few and far between. There was this whole N64 Kid excitement to them, but I will admit that it is nice to see constant updates coming from ATLUS now.

So we still get the letter...?Haha...of course not; what we get now are the Production Diaries...but they haven't given us the next one for quite a while.

Hopefully that means one of the employees at Atlus HQ is suffering immensely writing it out to give us an awesome one.

I hope so... I'd hate never to get one of the actual newsletters.
