I used everybody in The Journey. But for the final boss I decided to take just the men and had the MC with Akihiko, Junpei, and Ken.

Used everybody again in The Answer, but did the opposite with the final boss and took Mitsuru, Yukari, and Metis with Aigis.

If you mean final party it was Ken, Koromaru, and Yukari.

In the Answer I used:

Yukari, Akihiko, and Metis.

Metis made Mitsuru expendable in my opinion and I only kept Yukari around for healing. Although in the final boss battle I acted as the primary healer and let the rest of them do all the damage. I think I attacked maybe 2 times during the battle.

For both the Journey and Answer I used Akihiko, Mitsuru, and Junpei. They worked the best for me because I liked those characters the most and the others just didnt seem as good in battle as well.

I only took the ones strong against an element with me. (I know Junpei's fire, but my MC took over his place as a fire user. Main Persona: Seth).

Given character strengths and weaknesses, the game is pretty much designed for you to use everyone although I did have a tendency to use some more than others.

Journey: Used most often - Yukari, Junpei, and Aigis. Least used - Ken and Koromaru.

Answer: Haven't played it yet since I just had to play the Journey again just to experience what was new in the FES version.

It's been awhile since I beat "The Answer" but those I used the most were Yukari, Metis, and Akihiko while Ken and Koromaru were the least used.

I switched around when circumstances demanded, but my usual party was just about always Akihiko, Yukari, and Ken.

Strategically, having two lightning casters when I could've gotten in another element did bother me a little, but Akihiko and Ken were my favorite characters in the game, so screw that.

At the end of my game in The Answer, Ken is still level 25 XD I didn't use Metis, either, because she just wasn't my cup of tea...until that one part where I had to grind like crazy, regretting my negligence =/

I stuck with everyone from the very beginning, and I thought hmm maybe I should try someone else. So once Shinji joined the group, I replaced him with Yukari, and loved it. That is, until Shinji decided to be a douche. Big mistake :(. Then after that my Yukari kept getting pwnt.

Both of the journey and the answer bosses were quite easy for me. As long as you are well equipped with the necessary persona's and your in the exact level, your good to go. :)

I tend to use Koromaru and Ken less often because I hate strategizing around mudo and hama stuff. Like Eric, though, I find that on Hard mode you don't really have a choice but to use everyone unless you are intentionally handicapping yourself and enjoy resetting.

I used Ken a fair amount, because he has a decently large enough SP count to be a healer. I basically never used Koromaru though...

For The Journey, I used everyone as evenly as I could (except Koromaru).
For The Answer, I mainly used Metis, Junpei, and Akihiko (so glad I went with Metis!). But I did switch other characters in once in a while if I needed a specific resistance. I had sure to have the other characters decently leveled too, in case I needed them. I never used Koromaru in the Answer either though.

In P3, I used everyone evenly, since different shadows call for different party combinations. I'm still working on FES, and want to start playing P4 asap, but I want to experience both endings this time, and play through The Answer.

In any case, like last time, I think I'll use everyone until I defeat the last floor boss, then let the guys slip off, and take the girls to the end. They're a well balanced party, and all of them except Mitsuru had samarecarm and mediarahan, which was really helpful last time, so I think I'll use them again.

As for The Answer, I haven't decided yet. But I do think I'll split them into 3 teams for lvling purposes(the girls, the guys, and Aigis and Koromaru can go off on their own). Then again, I haven't played The Answer yet, so if I have to choose a team, I think I'll go for the girls again. Otherwise, I'll use everyone.

For The Journey, I pretty much used everyone (except Koromaru...sorry :(), but my main team was Yukari, Mitsuru and Akihiko. They were level 90ish, my other team was around 80. For The Answer, I was trying to do the same thing...but now I just do Yukari, Mitsuru and Metis, sometimes swapping out for Akihiko. I dunno, I feel they work out alright. Plus Metis just hugely strong! I have Surt/Thor/that chicken thing that knows wind skills/....and King Frost (XD) to help me out with elementals.

I really need to get a better Ice Persona >_>

In the journey, I mostly used everyone evenly, but I completely ignored Koromaru. Nothing against him, but he just never really fit in.

In the answer, it was much more even. I even found room for Koromaru. The exception was Metis, who *never* left my party. No weaknesses is just way to handy on permanent hard mode. Plus she's overall one of the more useful/versatile party members in my opinion.

The Journey: For the most part, I used the Main Character, Mitsuru, Yukari, and Akihiko. Though, I never got to the end of the game (I got as far a January, then I just lost interest really quickly due to that I already knew what happened because my friend was playing The Answer when I was at his house and I got a huge ending spoiler for the Journey that I didn't want to know).

The Answer: Lost interest to even start (For the most part it looked like a straight dungeon crawler. I am not that big of a fan for Straight Dungeon Crawlers, so I tried to stay away from it.)

Overall it's nearly the same, Metis picks up the slack for the team.

Reading though here, it baffles me that so many people -never- used Koromaru. He's arguably the strongest ally in the game! He's your best Fire-user, he's got Mudo Boost so he can OHKO pretty much anything that doesn't directly resist Death, and he's got the largest number of resistances of any character outside the MC(He resists Fire AND Dark, whereas every other character just gets one resist).

Really, he's the best character to bring to the final battle at least, especially if you can manage to grab a Radiant Halo from Melchezidek.

WOO JUST BEAT THE GAME. Hey, I just got it for Christmas, so I'm a bit late to this all. :P

My preferred party was Yukari, Mitsuru, and Akihiko. Though I often used Ken and Koromaru. I gave up using Junpei after level 18/19 or so, and I stopped using Aigis at level 40ish. It became way too much time to cycle through everyone and level them up, and I found that Aigis and Junpei were easy to make up for with the MC.

I liked Ken better because he didn't have any "break" skills, Yukari is so annoying with her Wind Break, I have to command her to conserve Sp everytime I encountered a wind resistant- shadow...

I used everybody at some point in time. However, my main team (and final boss team) in the Answer:

Aigis
Metis
Akihiko
Junpei

This gave me access to all four elements, and all types of physical attacks. It also allowed me to avoid the poor AI of Mitsuru and Yukari.

It's been a while since I played The Journey (when it first came out, I did not play the FES enhanced version), but my final boss team was:

MC
Aigis
Yukari
Mitsuru

Yukari was equipped with the bracers that buff wind damage, and she was in my party for most of the game. I don't remember much else about my tactics or reason for choosing that team, but I do know that Yukari's AI seemed better here than when I played The Answer. I believe Aigis was in the party because she could take a beating and had decent support skills.

I based my party around the certain situations I encountered. For the end of the Journey, however, I used Yukari, Akihiko, and Mitsuru, which I was disappointed in. Yukari and Mitsuru cast pointless spells like Wind and Ice Break and tentarafoo or Mitsuru would steal magic when she had almost full magic. I think Junpei, Akihiko, and Aegis would have been pretty good for me, so I'm going to try that if I ever get around to a second play through.

Since my MC always seems to fuse strong personas specialized in Fire and Electricity, I use the others for healing and Physical/Wind/Ice damage.

That said, Metis was horribly unbalanced. 2 elements+Physical attacks+Improved Orgia mode = Overkill.

PROBLEM: You can't use Koro-Chan in Answer because he goes with Junpei-Kun to do "detective work." Nor Mitsuru or Fuuka.

Um...Koromaru and Junpei join the investigation after you finish Malebolge and Mitsuru joins after you finish the 2nd door.
