I posted on this other thread and realized there isn't a topic on this discussion. For the sake of keeping people from accidentally clicking and reading the stuff here, please post your replies in white color (or whatever you use to hide sensitive info).

Basically, this topic is about discussing the endings to either the Journey or the Answer, whichever part of the FES edition you want to discuss. Discuss what you liked about it, whether you're happy with it, and/or what you would've changed about it.

Here's my response:
For the Anwer: I think it was appropriate that Aigis was the leading character. She was deeply attached to him. I'm still wondering how she knew he was dying since no one knew he was going to until they found out in the Answer. Perhaps Aigis's robotic senses detected it or something. I don't know.

My favorite part of this version was Yukari's jealously. To me, she was the one I related to most. Even when she accepts it, she admits that it still hurt. I think she wasn't only jealous Aigis got his powers too, but was angry that she lost another important person in her life (which is sad in itself). I get this strong sense that Yukari had strong feelings for Minato but was too stubborn to really go into it, so she couldn't be his main squeeze (Yeah, you can say she does during the Social Link, but if you did that, then you'd have to take into consideration of every OTHER Social Link the hero established as well, from Yuko to Mitsuru.).

I found this ending both uplifting and tragic. On the one hand, Minato has protected his friends. He's now achieved the same ranks as any other Japanese God that protects the land. He's dead but spiritually alive in the seal. And in his friends, of course. So, yeah, that's pretty cool. On the other hand, though, he was destined to die. It seemed almost pointless when you reach the part of the game where he's asked if he's thinking about the future and where he sees himself from now. What future? He's going to die. :?
Well, that's all I got to say from now. Anyone else for their two cents?

You might want to clarify that you're talking about "The Answer".

As for how Aigis knew "that", one of the command room videos you can watch shows that Aigis is able to read people's vital signs just by being close to them, as she monitor's Minato's vitals throughout the night while he was sick.

I enjoyed the new ending in FES, but at the same time was disappointed that the main character did not come back somehow and that we didnt actually get a choice to have two endings because I would've loved to go back to the past and see how that could have played out.

I also feel like I didnt quite understand the whole explanation of what the main character truly did and why. And what was up with the shadow version of the main character shedding layers down to his vitals showing? I thought that was really odd that a shadow would have all that, it made me think everyone really did kill him or what could have possibly made to turn into the real him. Anyone get what I mean?

I was thinking it was for the ending of The Answer, but okay.

Okay, I re-edited the topic a bit to clarify things. You can discuss either the FES' endings to the Journey or the Answer. Whatever is your cup of tea. Sorry for not being specific before.

Fighting Catdog at the end was kind of fun :)

I love the ending of The Answer (Episode Aigis).

Nyx is supposed to be unstoppable. It makes perfect sense that Nyx cannot be sealed by a nameless teenager (or Minato, whatever you prefer). Nyx is not really evil; the people who are wanting Nyx are the ones who need the Great Seal. Also, the story of the Answer is congruent with Carl Jung's idea of the collective (un)consciousness, personae, and shadows.

As for the ending of The Journey (Episode Yourself), I also liked it but I have one issue about it.

I love the social links ending, and the idea that the social links are source of power (the power of the universe). The Messiah theme is okay (if not overused in almost every story of a hero). However, I hate the scripted fight with Nyx. I want the possibility that I can fail or die in fighting Nyx. It would be awesome when you fight the actual Nyx (not the Nyx avatar) by yourself and without team mates.... then after one move by Nyx... GAME OVER!

I am sorry for the long post. If you have read it all, thank you very much. :D

My response:
In the FES's Answer, I almost cried when i was watching the scene about Yukari's feeling to the MC after Aigis collected all the key. I think Yukari has a feeling as strong as Aigis has to the MC. Eventhough it's sad and emotional, it is my favorite part in the Answer.

In the Journey, I wonder if Nyx(Ryoji) will come back to the world when there is the seal because Ryoji said that they would meet again.

Hrm. Maybe Nyx will be back in P4?

I finally *just* beat The Journey. I bough P3 and then when FES came out, that. I started over with FES.

My ultimate conclusive thoughts are here:

1. I need to play The Journey before I play the Answer. The almost 150 hour grind was too much. I beat it just above level 90.

2. The bittersweet end was a bit toned down from Persona 2, which remains one of the best RPG's I have played.

3. The ending was awesome. I liked the way it tied together very well.

4. The music was perfect for this game.

5. It should be "Thou art I, and I am Thee." Not "Thou art I, and I am Thou." This annoyance was worse than the discomfort some people felt about honorifics.

Tartarus needed more variety than just wall paper and enemy color codes.

Spoilers!

6. Nyx was anti-climatic for me. I had long ago taken to just using Helel when i found him trying to fuse the four Archangels together, which never worked. I spammed Morning Star on Avatar Nyx, and cast cadenza on everyone. Aigis was in full assault, Yukari and Mitsuru were in heal/support mode. He was time consuming, but I think my level was too high for there to be a real sense of threat. it ony took two times to beat him down totally. The "Moon" thing that then ensued was certainly interesting in light of the Gourmet King social link.

7. The martyrdom in this one was a bit too obvious, and I hope there is a different feel to the Answer.

I beat answer today and man, that was sad.

I mean, I know, end was happy, Aigis will going to school, everyone will have normal life etc. but, hell, I can't reconcile
with MC's death. They should, I don't know, bring him back, somehow. I heard that in P4 when we're in velvet room this lady over there says that her sister, Elizabeth trying to free a boy form a wall and wow, that would be awesome.

I REALLY want these characters back, I hope persona 5 would be a continuatuon to P3, not new game. I don't know, nyx return or something.

Oh, and this how Yukari acting after beating her. OMFG! That was the best scene in Answer! She was so uspet.

Oh, and one more thing;

THIS. I want this moment in P5. This is fanart? If that would be form P that would mean that E-monster(forgot his name) would be reborn. Huh, who knows,

It has to be fanart I think, but it's still pretty cool.

I have to say that the journey ending is a bit lacking. I like the answers ending better. . .

Just finished Answer.

I had a bad feeling it was just going to be them coming to grips with Main's death. My guess about why Yukari was so torn up was right, too.

It was still a good epilogue, and I enjoyed the ending.

And the cross-party battles were epic. Best battle music in the Answer by far.

Sad there's so little of the animation in the game. I really like its style.

As for that image above, Am I a bad person for having hoped that Elizabeth was going to challenge them in the Velvet Room during the post-game?

the end of the answer was stupid, i loved it but it was stupid. They could of used the key, go back in time, kick nyx's ass once again then sacrifice ken or something (since he's the shinji or P3). but at the same time the word mentioned in P4 about elizabeth trying to save MC from P3 is cool, but i want an actual followup on that. you dont just say "we might save him" and then never doing anything conclusive.

It wasn't like they could just defeat Nyx and make it all better. Nyx can't truly be defeated, only contained, which is what P3 Main sacrificed himself for.

Akihiko put it best when he mentioned Shinji. He wouldn't wish for Shinji to return if he could. He died for what he believed in, and that's just how it should be.

Yes, it would've been great for him to come back, but I can accept that it just wasn't meant to be. He won't be forgotten, and if nothing else, the epilogue shows that they manage to move on with their lives.

Still breaks my heart thinking of how the people I built up all those links with must've taken the news of his death, though. Especially Yuko.

Yes I wonder about that too. . . It should be really heart breaking for them. :(

well like i said, sacrifice ken kun :P nobody likes him anyways. On a serious note, i hope theres a bit more mentioned in p4 than "elizabeth went to save a boy on a wall." just so the two games are tied a bit closer.

I really don't like ken-kun. He's the reason why shinji died. T.T

Just because you hate Ken doesn't mean some of us don't love him. He was my favorite character in the game by far. =P

dude, that would be so awesome O.O but I think if P5 were to happen atlus will have to give a reason why elizebeth's lvl is down (I mean she was 99 in persona 3 and FES and erebus doesn't stand a chance) still if they could somehow save MC that would be the most amazing thing ever T.T (I cried when he died, he's to awesome to die)

anyway, I second the fact you want a P5 :D

the answers was good but the ending disappointed me because it ended i mean dont get me wrong it was a good ending because everyone though out the game learned something about themselves but the question still not answered is what about Minato they say that days after nyx he just died but i cant believe it since his soul is the barrier and Elizabeth went to go get the blue haired boy in what i read about her for 4 i mean i hope there is something about him and the others from 3 in 4
