Recently, I bought a copy of Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. I've yet to beat the game, but so far I find it very enjoyable, so I decided to look around online to see what I could find on this game. As I searched around, I came across another Persona 2 title, Innocent Sin. What is the relation between these two games?

Hey there kiddo. XD
Well. As you see, Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment form part of the whole Persona 2 storyline. The difference, is that Innocent Sin is the first in chronological order. As you already realized, there is no need to actually play Innocent Sin to fully understand Eternal Punishment, since the events in Eternal Punishment are an other scenario where the events of Innocent Sin did not happen, but still keep a small effect such as Maya Amano meeting Tatsuya Suou.
The main character in Innocent Sin is Tatsuya Suou, in your case, the guy in red in the introduction of Eternal Punishment. And in Eternal Punishment, it switches to Maya. Innevitably, each with a privated individuality and expression because being the main characters in their proper games. So in the other game in this case, they are fully expressive and have LOTS of dialoge.
If you wish to check more detailed information out, then you should check the Persona 2 Wikipedia Article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persona_2).
Hope this helps, I just played a little of Eternal Punishment... still in Seven Sisters High. XD

I beat it years ago. It was a very good game even if it is only the second half. It also has good replay value too. :D

Hey I searched the forum and I can't seem to find anything on getting the infamous FOOL card in Persona 2 Eternal Punishment. I can't find a definative guide for it anywhere, only a smattering of frustrated forum posts online. Well here's my frustrated forum post. C'mon guys someone has to know an effective way to get these, or where a guide where demon question responses might be diagramed.

^I don't know about effective. It is dependent on them making initial contact with you -- which you have no control over.
I have only been able to grab 1 in IS. Even when that same demon initializes the contact, it isn't always a given that the same responses to his / her queries will result in the same outcome if the questions are asked in a different order.
An example that I can think of quickly would be Lilim. I have gotten several different responses from her when she asks me about tanning even when I give her the same answer time and again.

This is for IS, but anyways: In order to get a Fool Card, you need to make a Demon Contact by increasing their Interest. After you made a contact the demon NEEDS to ask you a question in return. Reply that question in a way that will make the demon angry. After that, the demon NEEDS to ask you another question again, but this time your reply should get the demon's Interest. You must repeat this process until the demon have asked you 5 questions without any interruptions and your response should be in this order: INTEREST, ANGER, INTEREST, ANGER, INTEREST. If you did it correctly, you have 1 in 32 chances that the demon MIGHT ask you a fool question. Reply this with the most foolish answer and FOOL TAROT CARD will be yours. If the demon didn't give you a question, then you blew it.

^Right. I assumed the previous poster was aware of that, but rereading their post, maybe they weren't.
I was able to get a Fool card without having the same order that faq has listed. I was able to do it with something like anger, interest, anger, interest, interest. I was pretty shocked when it happened.
That faq is also a little misleading if you read it carefully. If you initated contact with the demon and asked it a question that will raise interest, the demon won't be able to ask you 5 questions on its own if you are giving it answers that also raise interest. With the every other (interest then anger) they propose, you will have maxed out its interest early.

Maybe you just have to keep the contact going for 5 questions, to have a chance of getting the Fool question?

Also...once you get far enough, Salam's maps. Depending on which dungeons you map (generally the later ones), you can get up to 6 Fool cards.

^Right, but Salam is only is EP. In IS you are on your own for fool cards.
