Does anyone remember this one? :?: (from 1998 :o )
I think I only played this one once all the way through, does anyone know of any secrets in this game by chance, other endings, secret charactors, or something else maybe?

Cheers, my second find in the closet!!

Oh yeah Brigandine! Finished it ages ago, but only played through the game with that prince who had that red dragon (at least, that's the only thing I remember...).

Cheers, anyone else?

Yes, got it when it was released. Never could beat it as I'd always get royaly trashed by everything that moved. Even using cheats I still got beat alot. One of the hardest strat games I ever played. I'd like to beat it once though.

I bought it when it came out and eventually beat it with the easiest kingdom. I think the leaders name was Cairn?

It was okay, but nothing special.

I got mine new for 20 at Wal-Mart years ago. I'd say yes but, there's alot of great games you can get for that 100. I'm cheap, I'd say pass on it and load up on 3 DS Atlus titles. That or 2 and get Hoshigami DS.

100$, your kidding..... HHMMM, I don't know I'd pay that much for it regardless, but if you have the cash, be my guest.

Cheers, let us know if ya do that one and post what you think, I know I will when I finally get this one going again in the future.

That or 2 and get Hoshigami DS. Hoshigami Remix for the DS is a great game. I definitely suggest looking into it.

I remember when i got this from a Funcoland for like $20. I still love this game. Think my favorite kingdom was the one with Dryst, that goofy-assed clown looking guy with a scythe. I also played as that Evil Empire like kingdom too, that's accessed via some button code at the start screen or something.

It was not a great game, but I loved the ideas that it had. I once wrote a big paper in my high school newspaper on it vs. Luminous Arc since the readers wanted me to (it was probably one of the most fun articles I've written) and in the end I admitted to deep down loving some of the aspects of Hoshigami, but it was deep in a lot of amatuer mistakes and just crappy game aspects.

If you enjoyed the game, then I fully recommend Stella Deus: The Gate of Eternity on the PS2 as it was made by the same developers and pretty much improved on Hoshigami in every way possible. That being said I haven't quite beaten it yet (the battles are still pretty long and treacherous) but my only huge annoyance with the game was the terrible voices by a lot of the characters (sorry Atlus, but I'm not pulling back on that one). Though it still isn't for everyone, so I don't blame people for disliking it.

Anyway back to Brigandine, y'know I've been looking for this game for quite some time since I'm finally getting around to collecting some of the PS1 RPGs as some of them were surprisingly good, but I'm currently looking for Kartia (also by Atlus) because I'm a HUGE Amano fan and I hear he really worked on this game after leaving the FF series (much to my disappointment, I hate the new characters of the FFs).

Also the game is so dang expensive that I can just not afford it. Let's not even mention the Ogre Battle/Tatic PS1 titles that I just HAVE to be a huge fan of :(

We should have more older Atlus game titles, a lot of them were extremely interesting!

Ooookay... where to begin...

After reading all the posts I can about Brigandine... I seem to notice that I would be the only fanatic for this game... (with a few exceptions) I really love this game and it irks me every single time I see a mediocre comment about the game..

I have played every possible angle with this game... I've got records on how best to build your characters.. Give me a character's name and I'll tell you what country they're from, what they're background is in the storyline, how great (or awful) they are in battle, are they worth using, what level they start from and what castle they are in... I even have monster stats.. I managed to get those all in a span of a year..

Yeah, I know, I had too much free time back then.. but now.. I'm finishing my (God only knows) nth game with Iscalio... those records are getting me where I wanna go.. a Godlike file.. hehe..

I recently got my hands on a file of Brigandine: Grand Edition as an EBOOT file for PSP.. (which I learned Japanese for, just to read the storylines..) OMG.. how it was improved.. the balance of power.. the new characters.. the access to fight the snake of chaos... I had tears in my eyes the day I got my hands on it.

Sure.. the first few battles are honestly boring if it's your first time.. try playing a whole 5 hours.. then watch how the game draws you into the mystical land of Forsena.. Into the crazy court of the Mad Monarch of Iscalio.. the Frozen wastelands of the White Wolf of Norgard.. the Sacred lands of Leonia.. the Arcane ways of the Silent King of Caerleon.. and how it makes you follow the retribution of the young Prince who is destined to be the most powerful warrior in the continent as he challenges the Mighty Esgares.. Graphics may be low quality for people who are looking for eye candy, but for those chasing games for an AWESOME playthrough.. This is THE game...

Guys.. and Gals... honestly.. this sounds cliche but.. you don't know what you're missing.. your loss..

If you have questions about this game about strategy or FAQ's... I'll be glad to answer them.. send me a message.. I promise, you won't regret it.. ;)

If you have a hard time reaching me.. my email is mastikulangan@yahoo.com
