That's what I always assumed, too, but then when I read that from you saying it, I realized.... no electronics work during the dark hour.... even in the opening vid it shows it shutting off and THAT'S when he looks up (albeit almost indifferently) at the station after the lights have gone off.

Maybe we can imagine that Mitsuru tinkered with it. ~_^

I've heard good things about Audio-Technica, but I'm still loyal to Sennheiser when it comes to expensive headphones. I mean, I don't buy headphones just so I can be like the guy in Persona 3. :3

Well I do remember early in the game the protaganist was talking to Kenji before school about people hearing voices, then Kenji makes the remark that he probably wouldn't hear them anyway, since he's always listening to his headphones.

His headphones do cut off in the opening cutscene when the dark hour begins, but did you notice that they were working again when he stepped into the dorm and found Yukari pointing an evoker in his face?

I was under the impression that that was when the dark hour ended. Everything turns back on, not just the music.

Indeed. I'm for Sennheiser anytime. The only thing stopping me from doing so is...the price, and the authenticity of the product. My country's filled with pirated items (including games, but hey, they're cheap and it works, so blehh~ XD) so one can't be too sure when you buy a nice pair of Sennheiser earphones/headphones.

Well, I COULD go to the real store and the authentic dealer, etc etc. But yes, that's where the second problem enters: price.

Don't headphones normally project sound? He doesn't have to have them on his ears to hear them. When I was in Highschool, students on the bus would often drape their headphones around their necks like that so they could listen to the music and hear what people were saying to them at the same time.

Hmm, true true (not that I actually chose that ending but...heck~ XD). But then again, like in most shows or games, they don't truly explain how some things work. Instead, they just leave it as it is and expect others to comprehend or ignore that itsy-bitsy fact.

This mp3 player is indeed pretty close to what the MC has IG. But there is no neck strap on that one (and no "hole" to fit one even if u wanted to). I tried also to find a model online that would be like the MC's one but i still havent got any luck in finding it.

Those are some nice headphones, I'm going to buy them right now (I need new ones anyway, not really a spur of the moment thing).

And to contribute to the topic, electronics don't work during the dark hour, as many have already said. When he enters the dorm and Yukari is pointing the gun at him, that's when the dark hour ends and everything turns back on.

Strange. They shouldn't be able to summon personas outside the dark hour. According to Trinity Soul, they're only able to that because of SPOILERS FOLLOW (highlight)MC's sacrifice at the end of the game

All right, I finally got those headphones today (or I should say yesterday), and I have to admit they're pretty cool. They look nice, look expensive, and best of all sound great. I can see how they can break though, because the piece that goes behind your ear feels like it could be snapped off fairly easily if you tend to neglect that sort of stuff. Other than that, as long as you keep it safe and don't step on it, the thing seems like it'll be fine. It comes with a nice soft case to put the earphones in as well, which is a nice little bonus.

I have the same model (ATH-EM700) that came with the Konamistyle Special Edition.
I think those are supposed to be the "official" ones, but the differences are purely cosmetic... I use them for running and they are almost perfect (they lack a bit of bass power, but everything sounds crystal clear).

You won't get a whole lot of bass from any Audio Technica products. They certainly do offer comfort and style, but in terms of sound quality you could do better.

They do however produce mean quality mic's...
