Nah, that was actually lunch. I had reading materials, hours of searching for articles regarding nationality, identity, and sense of belonging for dinner.
Show 'em the REAL Chinese food! Though I would sooner ask you to make the Malaysian coconut rice with some spicy sambal~ That'd be a slightly harder task, but fun too~! =3

Laksa Johor! =D
http://intelligentsufi.blogs.friendster.com/intelligent_sufi/images/laksa_johor.jpg
It's basically spaghetti noodles coated with shredded fish gravy-like soup, along with lots of bean sprouts, veges, veges, and more veges.
Oh, and they included both lime (If you like it sour) or sambal (If you like it spicy).
Probably not as nice as this picture, but well, it's close. I had this at a restaurant called Laksa Shack. Terribly overpriced, unfortunately,(I'm a stingy student, remember?) but it was still a nice meal.
I liked the one at my aunt's, but due to more family tensions in the family, I don't visit her anymore. *sighs*

I am thinking of a good chicken and shrimp Crockpot Jambalaya. Any objections?
Cook in crockpot 4 four hours on high:
12 ounces skinless chicken breast cut in 1 inch cubes marinated in rum
1 pound smoked (andouille)sausage cut into disks.
2 bell peppers chopped and soaked in a bit of chilled vinegar water
1 onion chopped and carmelized in honey, vodka, and paprika.
2 celery stalks chopped
3 garlic cloves minced
1 can whole tomatoes
1/3 cup tomato paste
8 oz beef broth (or some other, but beef is best!)
1 tbsp dried parsley
1 1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tbsp oregano
1 tbsp Tabasco
1/2 tbsp lemon pepper
Add 1 lb of peeled and de-veined shrimp, and cook another 20-30 minutes.

Well, there are other food here that are served without fish, like diced chicken with cashewnuts (It's more of a Thai delicacy, but well, I have a bit of Siamese blood in me, so yea, why not~). Malaysia has food everywhere, and I literally mean everywhere.

Hehe, I know. :p
@Sei: Yea, I can understand why. Some people can't stand eating fish without looking at its eyes, that's why they cut 'em off. There are some people here who practices that. ('Tis a shame, the head's probably the sweetest part of the fish. You can basically suck on its bones just like that...though I'm not really good at eating fish heads)

I've never heard of being able to buy a mix. I would figure finding that would take more effort than just making the stuff. I normally make them every year, but couldn't last year. It looks very similar to the batter I use in mine..If only I could remember whether or not I use rum. To me, it doesn't really taste like egg nog. It almost has a cider taste to it.

Cornbeef hash

I am about to dig into a freshly baked pizza with homemade crust, pesto, fontina and parmesan cheeses, and sliced red onion. :d

You'd be surprised how much you can improve basic ramen noodles with a few cheap extras. Avoid the dehydrated shrimp and veggies and get one of the normal non-cup packages from your local dirty Asian store (or clean Asian supermarket if you're lucky, we just had two open up in Phoenix). The import-style ramen noodles usually contain more types with more seasonings and oils inside the package.
Pick up some straw mushrooms, mini-bok choy veggies and eggs and pork or beef (or chicken...I guess).
Boil the bok choy and mushrooms with the noodles. Fry the meat. You could also probably fry the egg but I prefer to poach it after I remove the boiled stuff.
There's probably a zillion other things you can do, but that's my preference for super cheap meals that don't make me turn against noodles.

I made Chicken Shrimp Pasta-laya.
It's like Jambalaya but has 2 inch cut angel hair instead of rice.

As for doctoring up ramen, highly recommended. I lived for a while feeding two or more on 60 bucks a week doing that. And we ate like royalty.
If you are really bored/creative you can make noodles into anything.

I was tough how to make Hasbrowns at work today, so I ate that. I also cooked pork tong, to make Mexican style tacos, grilled some jalapenos, green tomatillo, and onions I cut some avocado and mixed all the ingredients together in the blender to make Salsa Verde. Cut some more onions and cilantro into small helpings (for toppings) and heated some Tortillas, and assembled all the ingredients to make a......taco. I also helped make Stuffed Crab Sole, but the Chef would not let up with the recipe, So I didn't eat it.
